Family Dollar - customer service

On two or more occasions my 11 year old son has been told that he is not allowed in store number 1935 simple because he is 11. Today when my son opened the door to the store he was immediately told by both a cashier named Mark and the manager named Benita that he could not come into the store without an adult. I am disabled and unable to walk with my son but was on facetime with him. I immediately asked what the issue was and I was told that my son has done nothing wrong but he can not shop because they are not going to be responsible for him. I informed Mark and Benita that as long as nothing is posted and my son is not stealing, being disrespectful or disruptive he has every right to purchase his snacks. Your cashier proceeded to tell me that I am not a responsible parent and if I had any problems I can call the police, which I did. I would hate to think that my son was being discriminated against because he is a young black male but what other conclusion should I come to when two adults (a manager and a cashier) report to the officer that responded to my call that it was their understanding that there is a national law that says people under 18 can not go places without and adult. If this is an unwritten rule of your store, it certainly needs to be reevaluated or at least posted.

You are teaching your son to play the race card. Someone needs to take him from you. It does not matter if your son is black white or any other color. If they do not allow minors in the store they do not allow minors in the store.
