I am writing to you because I believe they are re-labelling expired deli meats at Market Basket in Littleton, and selling it as if it were freshly packaged. Today, I opened a package of smoked turkey that was purchased from the display case next to the deli department at the Market Basket in Littleton. The meats are available and advertised as fresh, for people who don't wish to wait in line for the deli products to be cut and packaged. When I peeled back the label, which said it was labelled that day (Dec 13), I was surprised to find the remnants of an older label underneath it. I can only surmise that the meat was expired, and re-labelled for sale as if it were fresh. The turkey was slimy, as turkey slices become when they are old. The manager admitted that someone had to be re-labelling older deli meats and selling them to an unsuspecting public. I told her they were messing with people's health, and surprisingly, she agreed with me. I told;d her I was disgusted, and she admitted that she would be disgusted too. I hope there is something you can do about this. I don't believe they should have the privilege of offering pre-sliced and pre-packaged deli meats if they are going to endanger public health by illegally labelling their products. I have attached photos so that you could see for yourself what they are doing.
Thanks for your time and attention.
Best,
Brendan Kearney

Desired outcome: I don't think they should be trusted to sell pre-sliced/packaged deli meats.
