Family DollarYour new store in Columbus, GA at Double Churches

I was denied service at this store for not wearing a face mask when I told them that I could not wear one due to a medical condition. They still refused to wait on me and check me out. Not only is this bad practice for management of a store that is just opening up, but they need to be educated about the CDC's requirements for a mask and the fact that not all people can wear one due to medical conditions. They are wrong to deny service on the basis of someone not being able to wear a mask. They are setting themselves up for a lawsuit.

Next time just tell them it's against their own policy to turn any customers away for not wearing a mask. Every Family Dollar employee country wide have already been told by their District Manager and/or Regional Manager that they are not a law enforcement agency and they can not turn away customers for not wearing a mask. They cant even ask what medical condition you have that keeps you from wearing a mask. The only thing they have given is to allow the associates to lecture people on the subject but to continue taking care of the customers regardless. My guess it's not the mask that made then not want to help you. If you are black then they are probably racist and didn't want "your kind" in their store and are using the mask as justification for their covert racist acts. That's really the only explanation

@StormyWinds Yes it is private property but only the actual property owner or a managing board of directors can set such standards and they actually be fully enforceable. The Chairman Howard R. Levine and COO Gary Philbin both have issued policy to store to not enforce mask requirements in any of their stores. These employees are in violation of their company's policy much less any constitutional implications.

@TheMechanic Sir, I am a retired nurse. I told them about the mask mandate and that their rule was unconstitutional. They told me I was on private property and they could do what they wanted and did not have to wait on me because I was not wearing a mask with other employees in the back laughing and carrying on like monkeys. Now I know why no cars were in the parking lot. No one should have to put up with this badgering just to make a purchase.
