Walmart - Checking out coricidin cold & flu product

Name John & Edna Fugate Dunwoody, GA. Perimeter Center Wallmart We spent $155.00 plus second ticket for around $10.00 for cold med today but would have spent much more if things like our liquid lg. soaps & lotions I use on my face were not locked up. A lady said she had been waiting for someone to help her for 30 minutes, so I opted not to wait. When we went to ck. out, I did not want self ck out so a guard led us to the cashier to ck us out which was a lot of walking. My husband has trouble standing very long (90 yrs. old) so did Not want self ck. out. However, we stood a lot longer since we were not asked by the clerk to see our ID since I had bought Cold medicine. Several people had to come up to the register trying to figure out what had happened. Finally, we were told we "must" show an I.D. for the cold med. when cking out since we have to be over 18. Mind you, I am 87 & my husband is 90 so know there would be problem figuring that one out. I understand there are a lot of robberies going on but couldn't a person have someone get something out of the locked counter & could still hide it so this point is mute. YOU SHOULD HAVE A SIGN at the register saying an I.D. is needed for cold meds. I am very dissatisfied & don't really want the hastle of going to your store again. There has got to be a better way & ya'll better find it before you lose "more" customers!

Desired outcome: Signs should be put out explaining the "cold medicine" problem if this is indeed a law to ask the question. This was just not right to keep us this long when it was the "clerk's error", not ours. We probably won't be back.
