Sam's Club - photo dept / club in general

This sams club has long had customer service issues, from manager to manager it doesn't change much.in particular you have several areas (pharmacy, photo, optical and automotive) in your store that should have associates trained in that area with good customer service skills because these associates have more personal interaction than other areas. The one that is always lacking in this store is photo. The two assigned associates do pretty good. The problems is it is never manned. Their hours are cut or they assign them to another area across the store. I guess the opinion is that it is a low skill area and that the machine does it all and that is simply not true. I have vast photo lab experience from commercial pro photo labs throughout county and also in the walmart space. This is very costly for you. I know the belief is that the profit losses are due customers not picking up but I truly believe it is from lack of training and also having inexperienced people working the area. They mishandle photos causing dog eared corners and on larger prints alway putting crimps and creases in them causing reprints. I am kind I had to have a multiple quantities of 16x20 prints made recently. I should be able to just order them and know they will be right but I go to the trouble to just do one of each and see how they look. This time all three looked great except for the crimps and creases. Aren't you glad I didn't just order the 10 quantity! However this bites me in the but because when I come to get it there is no one there and it is 15 or 20 minutes before they find someone to help! When they did I was going to have them reprint and add the extra quantity needed and I would shop and spend some time and money. Guess what they didn't have anyone who knew how to operate the computer. I offered but was told we can't do that, I said turn the screen where I can see and I will walk you through what to do. Not happening. So I say this to say either man it or shut it down, it is obvious that is very low priority if not corporately certainly in this store. I know you would never treat pharmacy that way. I don't know if the lack of manpower is corporate or mr. Neals doing but either way you are making customers very unhappy. Also for the record these incidents happened during regular hours not at obscure early morning or late evening times. I have showed up at noon and been asked if I was paying with a card because the cash register didn't have a till in it yet! Thanks for listening.
