My insurance company contacted those in the path of Hurricane Dorian and said it was advisable to pick up meds early.
When I called Walgreens Pharmacy, I was told that I could not pick up meds until Sunday. I have three recordings from Walgreens saying that my prescriptions were delayed because of an insurance problem. My insurance company says that is not true and I had to have them call the pharmacy to get my meds. Another problem in a day when I was being evacuated by family ahead of Hurricane Dorian on Saturday.
In addition, the pharmacist was unbelievably rude, saying in a snotty voice she didn't have time to repeat herself as she had a line in front of her.
Florida law requires insurance companies to fill prescriptions early when under emergency orders. Sumter County was under emergency. The insurance company said they didn't have a problem. The problem was Walgreens and that snotty pharmacist.
