Winn-Dixie - Pharmacy #2527, 252 Harbor Village Ln, Apollo Beach, FL 33572

My email address: [protected]@gmail.com

Incident took place on Thursday, August 17, 2023, 3pm but this is an ongoing issue.

My complaint is not about an isolated incident but an issue I've been dealing with for over a year.

A few of my medications cannot have refills and therefore must be called in by the doctor every month. These prescriptions also have time concerns and can only be filled after a certain number of days. For these reasons I have to call the pharmacy every month and ask that these prescriptions be filled.

To use the most recent prescription I'm trying to get filled, I called the pharmacy on the day that the medication, in this case Clonazepam, could be filled. Yesterday, 8/16/23, during my first attempt to speak to someone regarding filling the prescription, I was on hold for 15 minutes. A person never picked up, just the on-hold message repeating itself for 15 minutes. I was given the chance to leave a message for the pharmacist throughout the hold time and finally did so after 15 minutes. I gave my name, phone number, medication that needed to be refilled and when I needed it. I did not receive any communication confirming that my message was received. No return call or text.

Today, 8/17/23, I need to pick up my prescription but I have no idea whether it is ready as I still have not received a return call or confirmation that the prescription is ready from the pharmacist. I called the pharmacy earlier today to see if I could pickup my prescription, sat through the hold message a few times but my call was never answered so I hung up. Around 3pm I called the pharmacy again, not wanting to show up for my prescription without confirmation that it was ready. I sat through the on-hold message for 15 minutes and finally left a message saying that I would be there around 6pm today, 8/17, to pickup the prescription.

For one prescription, over the course of 2 days, I called the pharmacy a total of 5 times, sitting on hold 22 minutes total, leaving 2 messages. Never was I able to talk to anyone and never did I receive any communication from the pharmacy regarding my prescription status.

As I said above, I have at least 2 prescriptions for which I have to go through this process every month. More times than not it takes at least 3 calls from start to finish. I don't ever remember being rude or obstinate during these monthly calls. I'm finally fed up with this routine and would like some advice as to how I can make this process easier, keeping in mind writing the prescriptions with refills so I can just put the refill through the system is not an option.

Desired outcome: I am hoping that my calls will be answered or I would at least like my calls returned or some sort of confirmation that my call was received and when my prescription will be ready.
