Our county has 90% the population of the City of Baltimore and currently has two Taco Bells that I am aware of...there used to be 4...I previously worked at a brick and mortar pizza restaurant and there is now only 1 remaining. I enjoy them both. Twice in the last month, I have had an "outage" issue, the first was they had no tortilla wraps and last night no chalupa's. Both times I asked for them to substitute something and both times I was told no.
I am certain that the employees were "following orders." Orders from above. This has to change. It's your business, but I warn you, the current corporate culture has taken Taco Bell from 4 to 2 remaining stores in my area. I highly recommend to always use the opportunity to get a sale. In my case, I would have taken a couple soft tacos in return for the chalupas. That would have netted you $5 instead of nothing.
It's your business, so run it the way you want, but I would really hate to see the remaining two Taco Bells near me shut down. Multiply $5 times the many other customers who just drove away unhappy and it adds up.
