I hadn’t been to a movie theater since before the pandemic. And based on the experience at your theater this afternoon, I won’t be going back.

The aisles of the stadium theater were so dark, even before the previews started, that many people couldn’t find their seats. They were wandering around in swarms using their cell phone flashlights. No one from the theater was offering assistance.

When the previews began, the volume was so ear-splitting that it increased the general confusion. Many were stopping to ask those of use already seated what row we were in. But the noise was so loud, they had to shout their questions.

Once elderly man took a misstep and somersaulted down three or four steps in one of the side aisles. As he went down, he threw his drink into the air, dowsing the row in front of me. Several of us went to help him (but no employees of the theater). He said he wasn’t hurt, but was afraid to try to stand again. So he lay in the aisle while a couple of us went out front to look for help.

I asked one employee if I could inform him of the general mayhem in the theatre and he said, “Probably not.” When I toltd him anyway, he turned his back on me. When I returned to the theater, the fall victim seemed to have plenty of help (still no employees of the theater), so I left.

I won’t be back.
