This incident occurred on 06/08/2022 at @ 5:30pm at the almaden expressway safeway - store 1574. I wanted a product that was in one of the locked cases so I pressed the near by call button to call for a store employee to assist me and remove the product from the case for me. I pressed the button and I waited…. And waited…and waited. I thought okay, i’ll call again, so I pressed the button a second time and I waited…. And waited…and waited and no one came. I thought okay, third time’s the charm and I pressed the button a third time and I waited…. And waited…and waited and no one came. As I was standing there I was facing the front of the store and I could see the store employee who was supposed to be assisting me, she was not helping another customer, she had her phone in her hand and was looking at the screen. I finally had to go to one of the cashiers for assistance and he unlocked the case and retrieved the item for me.
Desired outcome: Tell employees to pay attention and to come when called.
