I stayed at the Ramada Inn in Poway, CA for two nights: 11/15 & 16. The first night there I was awoken at 6am by a construction worker tearing up a room just a few feet from my door who laid on his car horn for close to a minute. When I asked him to stop he opened his car door and lunged toward me. It scared me to the point of fearing for my safety, and I asked to move rooms in fear that this man knew where I was staying, an alone female.
I went to the front desk to explain my fear, and was told by the general manager Nancy he had checked out. However when I returned for the night I saw that this man in question was still there. Nancy had lied to me about his return.
I went back tearful to ask to be moved, as I did not feel safe in that room. My request was very reluctnantly honored. I cleared out of the first room and spent about seven hours in the second room before leaving very early the next morning. I was extremely courteous to the front desk, expressing great gratitude and even went to lengths to clean both rooms impeccably.
A few days later I called to inquire as to why my deposit had not yet been returned. I was told I had to wait because of the thanksgiving holiday. I waited several more days, called back again and was told I needed to follow up with my bank. The bank instructed me to file a dispute, and then sent me a form for more information.
When I called the Ramada in question to get a reference number only then did I learn that Nancy is now insisting that she is keeping my $150 for “severe damages”. When I asked for an explanation and/or pictures, she refused and hung up on me! I called back a number of times only to have her hang up on repeatedly. The manager Nancy has now very unprofessionally hung up on me several times, refusing to even communicate what the issue is despite my patient and kind request for further information.
The only damage I can conjure was a towel I used to mop up some coffee that had spilled. There's no way a towel or even two cost $150.
I believe this is a retaliatory action out of spite and is not founded.
Desired outcome: I want my deposit returned without any further hassle and Nancy reprimanded. As a representative of your hotels she has terrible customer service acumen and is not a person of integrity. I would like a response.
