Starbucks - Complimentary birthday drink

I went to Starbucks for a birthday drink on November 23. I ordered a venti caramel macchiato hot and had app downloaded on my phone and they denied it saying I needed to have had app on my phone longer. On app it does not say that. So I had to pay out of pocket. But that was a bummer because everyone says you can get a drink with app on birthday. I feel like that was negligence and false advertisement.

Desired outcome: Hopefully reimbursement of venti caramel macchiato
