I've been lied to and misled multiple times by support, after over a week of issues they were going to make an exception to switch my game code out. I was asked the value of my Steam code which was refunded, and the value of my new windows code, they were both gifts. I guessed the steam value was $20 and the windows code I had I guessed at $8 as I gave him some beer for it.
I was then told the values had to be equivalent, based off my wording they were not. I told the CS agent I did not know the value of the code but suspected it was the standard $20. They proceeded to tell me they were rescinding the offer without allowing me to re-buy a code or check the value of my code.
I called back and asked what I needed to do to have my information removed from their systems, I was told it was impossible I could only cancel my account. I proceeded to find the na.privacypolicy@square-enix.com address and the summation they can erase data. Customer service straight up lied to me.
This is crazy, one of the worst customer support experiences I've ever had.
Also when I called back the agent repeatedly told me they didn't make exceptions and they were never going to make any exceptions? he refused to look up my case number and had no intention of helping.
