Yesterday evening 2/6/11, my boyfriend and I were working out at the gym around 9 pm. We did some cardio then he was spotting me as I was lifting weights. Evan Vincelli, who claimed to be the General Manager of that LA Fitness location approached us and started telling my boyfriend that he has to work out or leave the gym. My boyfriend let him know that he was just spotting me because he did not feel like working out at that moment. Evan then got in his face and told him that that was not allowed in the facility or at any other gym. I let him know we have been going to LA Fitness for years and that we work out together all the time & that my boyfriend always spots me when I'm lifting heavy weights. Evan told my boyfriend that he better start working out or that he will notate his account and will eventually end up cancelling his membership. I asked Evan that he speaks to other LA Fitness workers that see us about 5 times a week working out together at the gym. He was getting really angry and wanted us to be quiet and listen to him and follow what he was telling us and would not back off our face. I let him know we would be leaving the gym and would file a complaint against his irrational behavior. He stared at us until we left the gym. This is the first time anything like this has ever happened to us at any LA Fitness facilities and would not like for that to happen again to us or to anyone else. I want to have this corrected as it was wrong & unfair treatment as customers.
THIS letter is by far the biggest lie ever! I'm a member that was in the gym, and Evan Vincelli was nothing but nice and very respectful. This couple got caught training under the table & trying to workout for free. Come on now everyone has to runa business and if everyone worked out for free we would all be bankrupt. ! -Amanda R.
