Issue/Concern - On 3/20/2021 three pieces of furniture were delivered and the furniture was in boxes. The delivery crew took the furniture out of the boxes, arranged the furniture and removed the boxes. They were very good at what they did and were very polite. I gave them a nice tip.

When the furniture was taken out of the boxes I smelled an odor but thought that would go away after a while. The odor did not, it became stronger when I opened the drawers, it smelled toxic and I got a headache and my lips started to tingle. I put up with it overnight and then went back to the store the next day (3/21) to express my concerns. I spoke with George Boyle's the Manager and he said he would take care of it. I asked that the furniture be picked up as soon as possible and I wanted a refund. He agreed and said the next scheduled pick up would be 3/26/2021 and that I would receive a refund within 8 days. I explained to him that the smell is in the entire apartment and it is a toxic smell and tried to get a sooner pickup. George did not seem to be concerned about my health (I'm 70 years old). I then said what if I have a reaction and possibly die from the fumes. George just looked at me, nodded his head and again said the next pickup date would be 3/26/2021. I looked at him and again mentioned that the smell was very strong and sickening, he again looked at me and nodded and repeated that the next pickup date is 3/26/2021. I realized the technique he was using which is just repeat the same thing over and over again so I agreed. I then remembered I would be away on 3/26 and returning on 3/31, so the pickup date is 4/1. My issue is how insensitive George was, his only concern was repeating the delivery date and did not care about the health issue the furniture was/could cause. He as a Manager should be able to get a truck for an emergency pickup if someone mentions a toxic smell coming from the furniture. Before I went to Bob's Discount I should have checked reviews and after reading them I realized I would have never gone there. I would never purchase furniture at Bob's Discount again and I would advise others not to.

My hope is that I do not get sick from the odor and that personnel at Bob's get better training. I am writing this in the living room with windows opened for the smell. I have the bedroom door closed and had to wash clothes that I mistakenly put in the dresser.

Thank You,

Eleanor (Elly) Pavol

Desired outcome: Possible emergency furniture pickup and better training for sales representatives and managers regarding furniture that emits toxic smells./fumes.
