An employee's husband was killed in a car wreck this past Sunday. The state troopers appeared in person to inform his wife of his demise and she contacted her immediate supervisor to be relieved from her shift. Her hands were shaking so badly that the state trooper had to take the phone. The supervisor told the state troopers that she could not leave because there was no one to take the shift. Then, after a threat to shut the store down, he went in to relieve her. Next, she put in to use her 2 weeks leave but was told you need to put your request in 2 weeks in advance of using it. This is absolutely pitiful. There is no bereavement leave, there is no money to help with burial costs. Inexcusable in this day and age. I have no idea which franchise. The one that owns the Burger King in Athens Al on Jefferson St.
Desired outcome: Change in policy
