This is about Order #***. We ordered some doors, one of them being a screen that was made too long. On June 4th we contacted Universal Iron Doors and *** responded right away requesting the correct measurement needed and said they could make a new one at their shop and have it ready in 2 weeks. Our office gave him the correct length of the door and on June 14th followed up with the correct width of the door as well. We followed up on July 21st with no response. Upon following up on August 4th we were told they did not receive the width measurements and our office sent the width again. Since then, we have followed up by email on August 31st, September 1st, September 8th and October 11th, all with no response. Our office called in or around the end of September and spoke to someone who said that there was no way a door could be fabricated in 2 weeks and it was probably taking longer due to the pandemic. We left a message for ***, who was in a meeting, but never received a response. We reached out via Facebook and were given the name of the original salesman, ***, to call for assistance. We called and left a message for *** with no response. We emailed *** on 10/25 to which he responded that the screen door was done outside of him and he has no insight on it at all and any information would have to come from ***. We then emailed *** asking what to do if *** won't answer, with no response. We emailed *** on 10/25 and no response.

The iron door I ordered from Universal Iron Doors & Hardware, Inc. was not what I expected. Their business practices were unprofessional and unethical. I placed my order in August and approved the CAD drawing for the door. However, when I received the door in January , there were significant differences from the CAD drawing. I contacted the company and spoke to the owner and manager, who were both extremely unprofessional. They refused to apologize for the design flaws, yelled at me when I expressed my disappointment, dismissed my claims by accusing me of wanting a discount, and even had someone swearing in the background of our calls.

There were several differences between the door and the CAD drawing. Firstly, there was a threshold at the bottom of the door, which was not in the original CAD. The company claimed it was temporary, but they still charged me for it. They never informed me that the threshold was supposed to be removed upon installation. Secondly, the height of the gap at the bottom of the door was different from what was stated in the CAD. The original CAD indicated a 2-inch gap, but if I were to remove the threshold as suggested by the company, it would create a 3-inch gap. This clearly shows that the company made a mistake in the design. However, they disregarded my concerns and claimed that a 2-inch gap and a 3-inch gap were not significantly different.

Additionally, the number and placement of the decorative elements on the door were incorrect. The original CAD showed two medium-sized horizontal rectangles, but the actual door had only one long horizontal rectangle. When I questioned this, the owner scoffed at me and said it didn't matter. Finally, there were other design flaws, such as missing ornamental designs and an incorrect number of circles on the door's border.

I have provided a timeline of the key events for reference:

- 8/21: Requested an estimate and spoke to a salesperson.
- 8/24: Paid a deposit of $*** (1/3 of the estimate) to have the CAD drawing created.
- 9/16: Approved the CAD drawing after receiving multiple confirmation emails.
- 12/6: Received a sudden call informing me that the door would be delivered that day. Paid the remaining balance of $1,958.68. Had to scramble to make arrangements for the door's delivery and had to unload it with the help of my family.
- 1/2: Contractor installed the door. Sent my first email pointing out the differences between the door and the CAD.
- 1/12: Received a reply from the owner after 10 days, stating that the door was good for the price paid and that the threshold needed to be removed because it was temporary. He denied any differences between the door and the CAD. I responded with a detailed explanation and pictures, stating that there were no instructions to remove the threshold. No response from the company.
- 1/22: Sent another email since there was no response for 10 days.
- 1/23: The owner replied, asking me to call during business hours. He claimed that he had called me multiple times, which was not true.
- 1/26: Left a message at the office since the owner was not available. Sent another email requesting a solution.
- 1/28: Had a 40-minute phone call with the owner, where he displayed unprofessional behavior as mentioned earlier.
- 1/29: Had a second phone call and sent another email requesting a refund.

Overall, my experience with Universal Iron Doors & Hardware, Inc. has been extremely disappointing. Their lack of professionalism and disregard for customer concerns is unacceptable. I would not recommend their services to anyone.
