Ultra Lean Green Tea offers a free trial online (you only pay shipping and handling). But you are then charged about $70/month for a monthly subscription that you are automatically signed up for. You can cancel this by calling the company number that appears on your credit card bill. Even when you call, they will try to coerce you into another deal to reclaim some of your lost money (a deal that actually costs you additional money). All in all, a harsh wake-up call to the dangers of buying items online and releasing you credit-card info.

After reading all this I decided to cancel my membership. I call the [protected] number, spoke to chesley. No hassel so far, they gave me a cancelation number. All restated that all orders would be canceled as of todays date Aug 29/08. Hopefully all goes well and thanks for the heads up.

Just for everyones information, the 14 days starts the day you order not the day you recieve it. I called the company to enquire about same after reading these problems. The company offered to extend my 14 days from today the day I recieved it. They were very pleasant and more than happy to extend the trial. when I agreed to purchase the tea they also signed me up for free coupons etc. The number they gave me to cancel has no records of my order. [protected]. When I called the company today the guy gave me another number to canel which was. [protected]. hope fully all works out for me, and everyone else.

That's weird because today is 8/28 and their charge - unauthorized- is sitting in my pending on my checking account! I called customer service and said I did not authorize anything, plus I spoke to someone the day I put in my order and told them - do not send me anything additional!

Guess what I was told - that didn't count because that's a sales line not customer support- and it didn't matter that I told them!

I am charging them with fraud and going through my bank to stop this payment and to get a refund - I suggest you do the same!

I agree that this is a scam. I remember seeing Oprah approving this tea. So like many others I trusted this site. I was told that I would have to pay 6.95 for shipping and handling. But when I checked my credit card statment online it was 6.95 plus 39.95. There were no mention of paying the 39.95 so I called them and they told me that I hadn't put a check mark in the hidden box saying that I wanted the product for 39.95 extra. Now I called the company and talked to a Janda and she told me that my credit card would be credited within 7 to 10 days. This scares me. With all that I hear on this sounding board it all sounds like a big raquette. Who do we contact? How do we get our credit back? There must be a way to stop this scam. I'm so pissed off. Never again will I pay until I get the goods first. Isn't it the way it should be!

This is not improving and this "company" is a complete scam. The product is worthless and the terms and conditions are hidden and designed to be secretive and steal money through our credit cards -- clearly as evidenced from all of these postings. I sort of feel sorry for "Denisha" who works an 8-hr shift on the customer service line taking calls that are 100% complaints. But not so much that I won't hound her supervisor for unethical business practices and - of course - dispute the charge on my credit card.

Well i just went through another bout with power tea today
Since i talke to the manager, his name is Corey, if anyone should want to call him about your complaint calll the number [protected]... Corey is the one i talked to last week that said, he saw that nothing had been done on my account to refund the money... etc... and that he would take care of it personally, i waited 5 days as he suggested for it to go through...today was that day...
Well he said i am sorry i did not call you back... he said alicia was right that because i did not trust them and put a charge back on them through the fraud department... that there was nothing they could do now...hhmmm...
you mean corey you have your product back and my money and there is nothing you can do about giving me my money back?
i said well why cant you issue me a check...
oh we cant do that because we have done that before and fraud was committed on them so they dont do that any more
...He did however offer to send the product back to me
I SAID NO IF I WANTED IT I WOULD HAVE ORDERED IT
I TOLD HIM THAT ON THE INTERNET THERE ARE SEVERAL PEOPLE WHO HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT YOUR COMPANY AND I PLAN TO TAKE IT TO THE POSTAL INSPECTOR...
HE WAS CONFUSED AS TO WHAT THE POSTAL INSPECTOR HAD TO DO WITH IT...
I SAID BECAUSE YOU ARE INVOLVING THE MAIL IN YOUR FRAUD...
I TOLD HIM MY BANK WOULD BE CONTACTING HIM AGAIN...
ALL I WANTED WAS MY MONEY BACK... YOU HAVE YOUR PRODUCT BACK AND I WANT MY MONEY BACK...
I TOLD HIM HIS COMPANY HAD NO INTEGRITY... HE SAID WHAT DOES INTEGRITY HAVE TO DO WITH IT?
HE THEN STATED...WELL IF I GIVE YOU YOUR MONEY BACK I WILL BE ADMITTING THAT A FRAU D TOOK PLACE AND THEY IMPOSE A FINE OF 45.00
HE SAid i will give you your 34.95 back if you will pay the 45.oo fine.

So in essence this is your way of pleading the fifth is is corey?
he would not answer...

I then called my bank back and explained what he had told me
about agreeing to the charge back...
He also mentioned about the people who were on a monthly
I told him i better not be on a monthly, , he said no your account is closed and you called in within the time limit... but that because i contacted my bank and didnt trust them... to issue me the refund... it was out of their hands ...
what they did was
state the charge was valid, very quickly and they did not verify
i sent it back...
so as of today they have their product and my money by manipulating between time i sent it back to them...
also what is on my side is that on my bank statement there are two seperat charges. one for 4.95 for the introductory trial product... which is the one i approved and the one
for 34.95 which by manipulating the words, fine print, and check boxes, fine print, THAT I DID NOT ASK FOR OR APPROVE

I FEEL LIKE I HAVE BEEN MUGGED...

THEY ARE NOT ADMITTING ANYTHING...THEY SURELY DID TRY TO GET ME TO THINK THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO AND THAT THEY WOULD MAKE IT RIGHT BY SENDING ME
THE PRODUCT BACK... I SAID NO...
I HAVE CORRESPONDED WITH MY BANK AGAIN TODAY AND
POINTED OUT THE DATES OF THE INITIAL CONTACT AND
WELL EVERYTHING...
COREY REFUSED TO CALL MY BANK TO STRAIGHTEN IT OUT ALSO...
BUT MY BANK SAID THEY WOULD CALL HIM.. AND ASK IF HE GOT THE PRODUCT BACK...
SO I AM WAITING PEN IN HAND, , , , PROOF IN HAND AND AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE POSTAL INSPECTOR... FOR AN OFFICIAL FILING WITH MY SISTER BY MY SIDE, WHO IS THE HEAD OF THE POSTAL WORKERS UNION AT HER SIGHT AND
SHE IS THE ONE THAT SENT IT BACK TO THEM...
WE WILL SEE... MORE LATER

I called and got through almost immediately. I spoke to a "Philip" and was given a confirmation # to cancel any further charges. I was only charged the $5.99 as far as I know because I only just got it and read these comments. What a ripoff! WHen I called he offered to sell it to me for $35.00 / month. Weird.

Like you, if ordered the FREE SAMPLE, and agreed to pay postage. Today, 8/26, I find I am charged $69.87. I did call the # you posted, got thru quickly and had my account canceled. The customer service rep told me the terms and conditions state that we will received new shipments. I told him I wanted my account canceled and I would refuse the shipment I was charged for. He assure me he was crediting my account as we spoke. We will see. Try calling during the week, they seem to answer the telephone quickly. By the way, I did call my credit card company and filed a complaint.

Thanks for your help.

Hi,
I just recieved my product and was searching for a 1-800 number to call cuz there was no dosage, when I found all these complaints. I tried calling too but what I eventually did was call my card holder and since I intially autherized the charge, they cant report it as fruad and stop the payments but, they canceled my card and are sending me a new one. I would def suggest doing that. Then log on to the Better Buisness Bureau and report them for fraud. Good Luck :)

I got scammed too! Same thing happened. You haveto call your credit/atm card holder and have your card canceled (they cant charge it as fraud since you autherized it) and they'll send you a new one. Good luck. :)

I got in on this "deal" about 2 months ago.
Well, I still have not got my money back
and the quote unquote supervisor at the call center or one of them her name is alicia deliberately lied to me. and told me there was no one else i could talk to to get my problem straightened out and there was nothing more they could do for me. it was out of there hands. at this point they have their refused and returned product which by the way they say they have no way to confirm because they dont have it posted on there records. that it was returned...
My sister works for the post office and she mailed it herself.
This is the way my situation went

The offer then was pay postage of 4.95 for a free trial
but if you bought the a bottle now the price was 34.95
i did not want something i did not try first especially over the internet. so i unchecked the small print check box that said i wanted it
i approved the 4.95 but guess what i could not print out the invoice
so ok, then i checked to see what was posted on my bank, i used my visa back debit card.
you guessed it they charged me the 34.95 ANYWAY... I WAS FURIOUS BECAUSE I ALWAYS READ THE FINE PRINT.. I HAVE LEARNED MY LESSON. so i get the telephone number on my bank statement and call them.. raising hell, and i was told to
refuse and resend... and then they would reverse the charges
all of them. in the mean time i dispute the charges with my bank
and they temporaarily took the charges off.
i waited a month thinking it was all over with
then i get a letter from my bank saying that they sent them a letter confirm the charges.. after i made the complaint
I WAS FURIOUS...I CALL THEM AGAIN...3 times and they confirmed they received the product back...on thos 3 occasions
they apologized and said it would take 8 to 10 days to reverse
after 15 dAYS I CALLED BACK...THEY APOLOGIZED AGAIN
I ASKED TO SPEAK WITH THE ACCOUNTING DEPARTMENT
AFTER A LOT OF RUN AROUND AND THEY COULD NOT BE CONTACTED. ALICIA FINALLY SAID THE LADY THAT HANDLE THE REFUNDS WOULD BE IN LATER AFTER LUNCH AND SHE WOULD PERSONALLY SEE TO IT IT WOULD BE FORCED BACK THROUGH
3 TO 5 DAYS IT SOULD SHOW UP
5 DAYS LATER STILL NOTHING
I CALLED BACK AND TOLD ALICIA IT WAS NOT TAKEN OFF OF MY ACCOUNT. SHE SAID WELL WANDA BECAUSE YOU
DISPUTED THE CHARGE THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO.ETC AND THAT THERE WAS NO ONE ELS I COULD TALK TO
LIE LIE LIE... I SAID SO YOU HAVE YOUR PRODUCT AND MY MONEY AND YOU ARE NOT GOING TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT
SHE SAID THEY CANNOT PROVE I SENT IT BACK...
I WANTED TO JUMP THROUGH THE PHONE AND WRING HER LYING NCK... SO I COOLED OFF AND SAID... I AM GOING TO CALL BACK AND ASK TO A RANDOM OPERATOR HOW THEY CONFIRM THAT THE PACKAGE WAS SENT BACK IN ORDER TO APPROVE MY REFUND...I TOLK HER WHAT THE SUPERVISOR
SAID AND SHE SAID, MS HARRIS, WE DO HAVE A MANAGER,
YOU CAN TALK TO... WELL... HE LOOKED INTO IT AND I CONFIRMED THE WHOLE STORY TO HIM ACCORDING TO ALICIA, HE SAID I DONT KNOW WHY SHE WOULD SAY THAT BECAUSE ACCORDING TO WHAT HE HAS IN FRONT OF HIM
NOTHING WAS EVEN ATTEMPTED TO BE FORCED THROUGH AND HE WOULD TAKE CARE OF IT PERSONALLY...
I HAVE TIL WEDNESDAY WHICH WILL BE THE FIFTH DAY
...I AM ALLREADY. PREPARED TO DEAL WITH THE POSTMASTR WITH THEM FOR MAIL FRAUD... THERE IS A PROCESS THEY HAVE TO GO THROUGH TO CONFIRM THE DELIVERY OF A REFUSED PRODUCT... AND IF THEY DONT DO THAT...AND TAKE YOUR MONEY... IT IS MAIL FRAUD...
... I AM HERE TODAY JUST TO SEE IF THERE ARE ANY OTHER COMPLAINTS THAT I CANT INCLUDE IN MY REPORT TO THE POST MASTER...I AM TOLD BY MY SISTER... THAT THEY CAN EVEN EFFECTIVELY SHUT THEIR BUSINESS DOWN.
OH YES, I TALKED TO THE FRAUD DEPARTMENT OF MY BANK
AND THEY SAID IT WAS THEIR WORD AGAINST MINE.
BUT SINCE MY SISTER WORKS FOR THE POST OFFICE AND SHE HERSELF KNOWS THE WHOLE STORY AND SHE SENT IT BACK HERSELF SHE IS FURIOUS AND PLANS TO TAKE IT TO THE HIGHER UPS IN HER POST OFFICE WHERE SHE SENT IT FFROM
ANYONE WISHING TO CONTACT ME
ABOUT THIS...WANJEAN2@AOL.COM I HAT LIARS AND CHEATS... AND I WILL PURSUE THIS...TO THE END... AND I AM WILL TO HELP OTHERS WITH MY TESTIMONY OF MY EXPERIENCE WITH THESE PEOPLE... I FEEL LIKE I WAS MUGGED...THEY COUNT ON THE FACT MOST PEOPLE WILL GIVE UP THE GOAT... GOOD LUCK WILL LET YOU ALL KNOW WHAT HAPPENS ON WEDNESDAY AUG 27...AND IF MY MONEY IS BACK. IN MY ACCOUNT...

No one ever answered. I will call Monday first thing. They better refund eveything. I will have to contac attorney general's office and credit card dispute. THIS COMPANY IS HORRIBLE. I ordered on August 12, then called and cancelled 10 minutes later after realizing what a scam this is. I was told at the time that I wouldn't be charged the $4.95. I called again on August 14 to confirm it was cancelled. Just checked my credit card and I was charged the $4.95 on August 15.

Thanks for all the above postings. I was surprised to see the charge on my account today after also missing the teeny tiny print. The lady stopped all future charges and shipments but refused to credit the initial charge. After reading the above comments, I called again and got somebody else. I informed him that I got the shipment late and was not happy with the product. He refunded everything. I will will keep my fingers crossed as I look for the refund! I hope other people are smart enough to not even order in the first place. I also received TONS 0f spam after placing the order. Good thing I set up a temporary email address and didn't use my home one!

The sample I bought was six dollars (and something-cents) and when I saw that I had been charged 69 bucks I was upset - so the "free trial" does begin an automatic sign up for their product.

However, when I called - angry - I got a human being on the other end right away, and he didn't argue or try to change my mind about a thing, he simply told me that he would have the charge reversed asap.

I checked my statement a week later, and the charge had, indeed, been reversed.

Now I have my sample and if I like it and want to order more, I can :)

Don't fret, they will give your money back. It's a ### thing to sign you up automatically, but it is easy to get it back - simply ask.

I signed up for this nonsense too...I don't even know if the stuff works, but I was looking for a site where you could get refills or something, and only then did I realize that there are tons of different URLs for this same product (a bad sign) and that there are no other links on the site except for the one that lets you order (also bad...you'd think you could read detailed testimonials). SO glad I googled and found this page...I cancelled my "subscription" immediately (though it only took a few minutes on hold) and am calling my bank to block any withdrawals they might try to steal. I also reported the company to the Better Business Bureau...more people should do this to draw attention to the scam. You can do it really fast online, www.bbb.org. It's worth your time.

Thanks so much for all the posts. I was able to cancel my membership before being charged the $69.95.
I called the number, was put on hold forever and assured that I would still receive the trial. I then called the easy save and american leisure to cancel those trial memberships as well. After I placed the order, I just kept having an uneasy feeling. And when I began to research the sight and found so many complaints, I realized that my instinct was right.
I recommend buying green energy tea fusion from Whole Foods. It's about the same price, you buy it from the store and so far it's helped me loose weight- not that I'm trying to plug a product or start a scam. Again thanks for the heads up. Too bad this was a scam; seeing a reference to Ophra encouraged me to take a chance on a trial offer.

By the way, thank you for these postings. I didn't seen anywhere under terms and agreements that there would be charges to my account. I was able to cancel within the 14 day period. I talked to a sales agent and as long as you cancel during your trial period, Ultra lean was accomodating.

Thanks to all of you.

Your comments freaked me out. I just received my 14 day trial and called the 866 number to confirm all the information written above. I talked with a great rep named Aaron, who extended my 14 days. He checked my account and explained everything about the automatic account set-up after the 14 days. Even though I did not read all the fine print, I expected that something was going to happen after the 14 days. I guess, however, that a lot of people really believe that you can get something for nothing. In any case, I am going to try the product.

this company is a total rip off. And i am soo glad that there is this website with thier contact information. they have now charged me over $120 on my credit card saying that there is nothing that they can do about it. i am now afraid that i will not get the '2nd' shipment in time to send it back to get my refund. When you have no money to spend and someone decides to rip you off like that... it's pretty much the worst thing that can happen. All in all i am rightfully pissed off!

Just ordered the product and right after I clicked on Submit Order, I saw the terms and conditions below that. Read them and freaked out at the notion that I would be billed $69.87 in 14 days and another $69.87 in 30 days and then $69.87 a month after that. Doesn't that mean I'm essentially paying $140 for the first month with no free 14-days? Called immediately and spoke to Niara and explained that putting the terms and conditions in small type AFTER the Submit Order button (most reputable web sites will put that information first and ask you to click on it before you can place the order). She pulled my account up, cancelled it for me and gave me a cancellation number. I will be scrutinizing my credit card bill when it arrives. I really wanted to give the product a fair chance but these terms are ridiculous - the "free" sample is a worst deal than just buying a month's supply! Oh and if you call and cancel, be prepared to wait on hold for a LONG time.

Ok, I'm always skeptical when it comes to ordering things online, and was cautious when ordering this free day trial, but I thought, hey, maybe this will work and help me loose those last extra pounds. I received my free trial product and then noticed the $69.87 charge on my credit card. Hmm, seems now I'm on an automatic monthly shipment/payment plan when I don't even know if the product works. Since I am in Toronto, Ontario Canada, I called the posted number for Power Tea @ [protected] and spoke to a very nice lady who answered right away. She took my phone number and pulled up my file. After verification, I explained my reason for calling and she credited my credit card right away, no questions asked, no problems! She said that people (in Canada) were getting charged without receiving the products because the US Customs was holding onto the orders for investigation. She said that Power Tea has gotten that all straightened out and customers will now receive their products quicker. Otherwise, what was happening was that their system charged us on the 15th day. So, no big deal, they will credit your credit card right away. If I receive a shipment, I just refuse delivery, it gets sent back to them and I will never be charged. She assured me the shipments will stop too and was very apologetic! Remember, its not HER fault when you call in to cancel. She's just doing a job like the rest of us!

I also ordered the free green tea trial, paid the $4.95 shipping charge and called the same day it arrived and cancelled my membership, but they still charged me $59.95 under the name SHW. I called my credit card company and had the charge removed, but now SHW/Living Lean is disputing the $59.95 charge. This company is defintely not practicing fair business procedures and should be reported to the Better Business Bureau Online. www.complaints.bbb.org

Thanks so much for all of your comments! I wish I had read them before falling for the "Free Trail". But I did call to cancel within an hour after I ordered it (and even called back to be sure they had record of my cancelation) and they assurered me it was canceled and I would not be charged anything nor receive anything in the mail from them. We'll see... but I'll be checking my statements to be sure I don't get charged for anything. These typs of sceme should be against the law! From now on I will definately do research before I order anything!
