This complaint is about TRAK Outdoors Ltd. I waited for over 2.5 years for my product, which was promised to be delivered in 10 months. I gave a deposit of $2415.00 CDN in Dec 2019. I requested a refund in 2020, but my emails were ignored, and I had to chase down Trak staff for an answer. I sent an email and follow-up on messenger and IG in June 2022, requesting a refund, but I have not received a response yet. The delivery promises have been repeatedly passed, and I am not interested in this boat anymore. I work in the seal kayak guiding and instructing industry and had to buy a different kayak in the meantime. I want my deposit back and for TRAK Outdoors Ltd. to pass my boat on to another eager customer waiting in line.

TRAK Outdoors I bought a Trak 2.0 kayak from trakkayaks.com on April/23 for US$***

I bought a Trak 2.0 kayak from trakkayaks.com on April/23 for US$***. I paid US$*** as a deposit, and the balance should be paid before shipment. At the date of the purchase, the delivery was supposed to happen on October/2019, six months later. Close to October/2019, Trak postponed the delivery to the Spring/2020, one year past the purchase date. I contacted the company and learned that they had a big backlog, but they were recovering. Searching the internet, I learned that many other customers were waiting for more than a year (see: ***). As I really wanted the kayak, and I was past the 90-day cancellation period, and I wouldn't paddle much during winter anyway, I decided to wait. Early March/2020, Trak announced a new delay. My order was now supposed to be delivered on the Fall/2020, 18 months after the purchase date, or 2 paddling seasons late. I started to search the Internet again and to my surprise I found the same kayak being offered at *** for *** ($*** less than I had paid) and being delivered in 7 days. I was angry, but I took my chances and I bought it. On March/10, I received the *** order. So, not only Trak was charging direct customers more, they were also making customers wait 18 months or more while the same product was offered at a big box store. I contacted Trak again on March/10. They alleged that the *** offer was unknown to them, but they agreed to refund me the US$*** deposit of my direct order with them from April/2019. It has been a month and several emails since then. I have not received a refund and now the company stopped replying to my emails. Meanwhile, Trak has started new online campaigns for future production batches. Customers should be aware that they are likely to wait for years hoping that one day they will get what they are paying for.
