Around 3:30pm today, Sept 18/25, I heard very loud, ear damaging hige volume of music coming from an appraching car when I was about to cross a small intersaction at Gosford Bl & Shoreham Drive (North Side). This vehicle did not stop when I was miniseconds from stepping out of the sidewalk onto the intersaction & felt this car passing right in front of me. The posted female school crossing guard did not do anything yet I heard her yelling a little behind me (at what & why, I was not too sure but I assumed logically it was about this car not yielding to a crossing pedestrian).
After crossing, I saw this car heading east along Shoreham Drive & then turned into the plaza parking lot northwest of Shoreham & Jane. I walked closser & still heard the extremely loud music coming out from this black SUV parked by the side of Pacific FoodMart. I appoached slowly & waited to see the male, medium build black male driver, 35-45ish of age, about 1.6-1.7 meter tall, leaving after shutting off the loud music & the engine. He looked at me briefly (probably recognizing me as the pedestrian he did not yield to just now), then walked towards the stores.
I then went closer & wrote down this vehicle info-----Ontario lisence plate # CHEZ 406 with a color fading silver rear lisence plate frame, newer model all black Acura MDX SUV with silver chrome trimmed window frames.
I walked back & asked this female school crossing guard about this car that did not stop for crossing pedesdtrian a few minutes earlier. To my amazement, she was blaming me for not looking before crossing & that ''he came first...''
I almost always looked around & ahead when walking & crossing---for unsafe/careless/dangerous car drivers, racing or speeding ebikes/regular bikes, ATVs, dirt bikes, e- or regular speeding scooters, & even carelesss pedestrians on sidewalks & crossings, for over 3 decards. Even if I was not looking this time as this irresponsible school crossing guard was accusing me of, how could I not know this coming car with his music SO EXTREMENTLY LOUD!
This is one of the busiest intersactions as a grade school is right at this interaction, St. Ausgusta something junior school. Many grade school students were leaving school & crossing everywhere around when what I described above happened.
What adds further to my frustration & huge disappointment was that I was totally unable to get the police (6 minutes + & I was still unable to get to a live person at the Toronto Police Service non-emergence line & 31 Division (with no answer!) , 337pm, 350pm, & I truly feel that our police really does not care as no one gets killed, injured, or any weapon was involved based on my personal experience calling our Toronto police for help the past 25 years! They would probably just told me to file an online report form) .
I then called Crime Stopper, 4-408pm, a male person who answered simply did not show much patience or mood to listen to me about what happened & put me on a long hold. I hung up after 7 minutes holding.
The Ryan person at 311 , 409-16 pm, just had no patience listening to what happened & simply told me to call the police non-emergence line. I told this ''Ryan'' person the multiple who I did call & I hung up after telling Ryan ''I do not think you will do anything & I do not think that you care, bye'').
Seems to me once again that whosoever in our city of Toronto who has some form of power would not care even to listen, not to mention to catch this law breaker (I believe the extremely loud music from his car alone, especailly in a school safety zone, is a violation of some kind with the Highway Traffic Act.'')
