Scan company
We received a phone call saying my Fiance had won a free make over and photo shoot worth £250, all she had to do was pay a £5 booking fee which is fully refundable on the day of the shoot. After the phone call we googled this company and was horrified when we read the reviews. We quickly realised that the £5 deposit was just a way of getting your card details so that if you did read the reviews and didn't turn up they could take their £75 so called cancellation fee. We immediately cancelled the card and called citizens advise who explained that they cannot take the cancellation fee by law as long as you cancel with in 14 days of the date you booked it. This comes under the consumer contracts (information, cancellation and additional charges ) regulations 2013. They said as long as we stated this in our letter that we would be legally protected and if there was any further problems with the company they would help us take legal action. I hope this stops any one else being bullied by this company as legally they don't have a leg to stand on...

I was sold a package a few weeks ago and was tolod all I had to pay was an admin fee of £5 each. I booked the date and was told that I was allowed one date change. I did not sign any agreement or contract. I was happy to go along as it was almost a free day out . Unfortunately my friend became ill on 29/11 and as our appointment was 3/12 I contacted them to change the date. I was quite happy to go along just not on 3/12/14. I was told that I could not change the date within 5 working days and that, if I did not come along i would be liable for a £79 charge. I explained that I had never been told of the 5 working day deadline and that, anyway it was unforseen circumstances and that I twas entitled to one change. I just kept being told that it was in their terms and conditions and I would have to turn up as they had prepaid a make up artist and photographer. I am entitled to one free photograph and did not intend to purchase any more. therefore they would not have gained anything from my turning up except to put the hard sell on me. I was informed that there was no recording of my initial phone conversation with William and therefore no proof that I had ever been told about the cancellation deadline. Regardless, I was still willing to reschedule . This is an absolute disgrace. I asked for names but was refused surnames with no explanation as to why. I am furious and any custom they were likely to receive from me or any of my friends they have now lost. Does anyone have any advice or has anyone had a similar experience.?
I have dealing with this company and they are crooks. I had the misfortune of dealing with some idiot called Simon who could neither spell, nor put up any intelligent reasons for his behaviour. I won avoid them like t he plague, they are overpriced under qualified con artists.
