I recently had a locksmith come out to replace some old locks for me. Initially, I was impressed with how quickly he completed the job. When I asked him about a slight wiggle in the lock, he assured me that it was normal. However, just two days later, the lock stopped working completely, and I found myself locked out of my own house. Frustrated with the situation, I decided to leave a 2-star review on Yelp.

While I was waiting for the locksmith to come back and fix the issue, I received a call from the company. They informed me that the technician was ready to assist me, but only if I removed my Yelp review. Feeling taken aback by this request, I explained that I would be willing to edit my review based on the outcome of the repair. After all, I had already spent over $200 on their services and would have to pay an additional fee for another locksmith to fix their mistakes. However, the person on the phone, who refused to provide their name, rudely insisted, "No help unless you remove the Yelp review." I was truly shocked by this response.

At this point, I am seeking assistance in obtaining a refund, if possible. I ended up paying $181 to another company to fix the improper installation and missing part that the "professional" locksmith company had neglected to address. When I initially called to complain about the situation, they did nothing to rectify the issue. It is completely unacceptable to be extorted into removing or altering a review.

I called on Friday, March 18 to arrange service with a professional locksmith. During the call, I informed the person scheduling the visit that I needed assistance with three locks and requested electronic locks with a keypad. I specifically asked if I needed to provide the electronic locks myself, and the scheduler assured me that they would have them on their truck. I also inquired about the cost of the electronic lock, and was told it would be around $145.

Today, the locksmith arrived but unfortunately, he informed us that he would not be able to fulfill any of the services we had requested. We only needed a simple re-key, a simple lock change, and the installation of the electronic lock, so it was quite surprising that he couldn't handle these straightforward tasks. He mentioned that he could go back to the warehouse to retrieve the locks, but it would take a couple of hours. However, I declined this offer as I wanted all the locks changed at once for consistency.

To my surprise, two hours later, the technician unexpectedly returned with the lock from the warehouse for the re-key. I had clearly stated that I wanted to reschedule and have all the services done together. The technician then requested a service charge of $45. I asked to speak with the person who had scheduled the appointment, and eventually, the manager called me back. The manager explained that the scheduler was new and had provided incorrect information. I expressed my willingness to pay the fee if the services had been provided, but since even the simple lock change was not done, it didn't seem fair considering I had scheduled the appointment with the expectation of receiving the services. I requested that the manager of the scheduler call me back.
