The Madison Event Center

Me and my partner had a big wedding party planned at The Madison Event Center for May 23 with 175 guests. But then the virus came and we had to move it to September 19. We still wanted to have 175 guests, but the Governor said no way. The Madison Event Center had to follow the rules, so we asked for our money back. But they haven't given it to us yet, even though we asked on August 24.

We book our wedding for December for 150 people. We asked the Madison to move our date to 2021 and they tried to charge us over 2k extra. We asked to get a refund or move our date with no additional cost and they are no longer responding to my calls or emails. I asked them in April what they were doing for covid couples and they informed me they were moving dates back at no additional cost. I expect the same for myself as they promised in the contract to be able to host 150 people and they cannot promise that can happen now.

I went to The Madison Event Center for my daughter's wedding and it was a total disaster. We sent a letter to the big shots, James S and Brittney L, telling them how unhappy we were (check out the letter we attached). They didn't do what they were supposed to do and we want at least half our money back. Here's what happened: they didn't let us rehearse before the Ceremony (11/27) or the Reception (12/10) even though they said they would in the contract. They also didn't give us any help with the audio-visual stuff at the Reception. My son and someone else from the wedding party had to do it all themselves. And to top it off, they didn't give us a Wedding Suite like they said they would. We were supposed to get it two hours before the seating, but they didn't let us use it before the Ceremony or the Reception. Brittney L wrote back to me on 01/03/2022 saying she got my email and would get back to me, but she never did. I emailed her again on 01/05/2022 and 01/28/2022, but she still hasn't responded. Don't go to The Madison Event Center unless you want to be disappointed.

We had our wedding planned for July 3 at The Madison Event Center. We paid them a lot of money in 2019 to book the event for 250 people. The contract said that if they couldn't host the event, we would get a full refund within 90 days. But they didn't host the event and we asked for a refund. We even got a lawyer to help us, but they haven't responded. We got married on July 3 anyway, but The Madison Event Center still has $12,150 of our money. They didn't spend any money on the event, so it's not fair. They might have even gotten some money from the government for lost business because of the pandemic. We want our money back and the money we spent on the lawyer. Please help us.
