This is a terrible company! Here is the rundown:
In 2005 they were named united steel factory, inc. 2700 w. Cypress creek road d104 ft. Lauderdale fl 33309 fei # [protected]...
On october 7, 2005 they changed their name to united steel building inc. Same address as above,
Now they are in the process of changing again to super steel building, the website doesn't have an address.

These people are slimy and slippery, their names are: mike sparks, deena gastel, sue alder, and jack racklin.

They owe me a rollup door and insulation for my building... The cost is $3, 000 I already paid them and they do not return calls. I had a guy go to their address and they have a sketchy buzzer at the locked door, no receptionist like a legitimate company would have. He asked to speak to sue and they said you need to have an appointment, and they refused to talk to him any longer...

File a complaint with the Attorney Generals office in Florida if your one that was scammed by them. Complaint forms are on the Attorney Generals website.

We paid them $8138 starting in Oct 09 for a garage but still have not received it, their phone has been disconnected and they don't return email messages. The BBB what a joke as of 6/29/2010 they had them rated as A- but changed their status to NR just yestereday. I'm filing complaint with Miama/Dade Consumer Protection Agency and Attorney General's Office but holding out little hope that will get me anywhere. Looking at getting lawyer.

I am another one that has paid the deposit on 11/09 and still haven't recieved anything. Is there anyway I can find out what is going on? Keep trying to call them and now there phone has been disconnected. Feel like I have been scammed! I work hard for my money and it makes me angery that people will do that to me.

That's the typical setup with these companies: Using Multiple names, Low-balling people with unrealistic numbers, then asking for more money by upselling them after the $$$ has been collected. At the same time, if consumers base their decisions on the lowest price without looking at the source, then it is their own fault and they shouldn't whine about it!

Also, regular complaints are OK as any business with decent volume will have that. In my own business, I have had several bogus complaints from clients to the BBB and in each of those cases, they were thrown out as it was the clients' own wrong-doing as it turned out. It took me six months to get it removed from the list although I proved my case beyond any doubt. So, that is all relative.

As for Allied, United, And Super Steel; they are all connected. Super Steel is under the name of the wife of United's president, who started with Allied and Zimmerman.

I would mainly look at what certifications the companies have, if there are any lawsuits filed against them, and why. All else is nonsense, and if you are just price shopping, then expect nothing more than these types of results.

Sounds like I am getting scammed as well. I just got my order and didn't get the two roll up doors or a few other parts and they haven't returned my calls or emails. I always thought they were shady from the get go but went with it because of the price. Is there a way to legally pursue these criminals?

United Steel Buildings and Super Steel Buildings use an identical "Terms & Conditions" document. They are the same word-for-word and format. It appears one is a Xerox copy of the other.

Same thing just happened to us with Super Steel buildings. We have paid in a large amount and so far they just keep giving us the run-around - not making change orders, dragging their feet on blueprints, continuing to ask for further payments before they proceed, etc. We cannot get anywhere with these people and nobody seems to be willing to help. They are a very unethical company. I don't understand how they keep getting away with this bait and switch scam.

United Steel Buildings is part of United Steel Factory, Inc. the connection to Super Steel Buildings you base on what? You can view the investigative report about United Steel at www.v1-p.com/unitedsteel.html and there are links to the Florida Attorney General, The Florida Division of Business Licenses, the Florida Division of Business Regulation.

The individuals involved in what appears to be consumer fraud are: Howard Zimmerman, William and Theodore Knote. These 3 individuals are principles of the corporation. Feel free to email me your complaints, with evidence at thefloridascoop@gmail.com I am following up the news story. These three individuals, along with a Michael Lassner of Allied Steel Buildings, Inc. have formed about 15 corporations in Florida over the past few years.
