Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center review: Disappointed

My mother was admitted for back pain and was ordered an MRI. I understand priorities and some people need to be ahead of her, however waiting 5 days to get an MRI is nonsense! She has dementia and without being stimulated with talking or exercising it is much harder for her to get back into her normal day to day activities like walking and remembering her daily activities. Each day we come to visit her day is saturated with pee so bad that my wife and I had to change her bed and gown. She like to pick at her hands so we let the nurse know that they might want to double tape the bandages that cover her IV. Needless to say that didn’t happen and she pulled her IV out. The rest room is totally disgusting, your feet stick to the floor. And of course nobody knows who’s watching who or can answer any questions. I know that most of the staff is overwhelmed however is this the way you would want your aging parent taken care of?! If you have any say so on what hospital you or a family member needs to go. STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM SUNRISE HOSPITAL! Especially if you are double covered by insurance because they will just prolong the process and milk your insurance.!
