State Water Heaters review: Beware of the warranty

Frustration. I purchased a State Water Heater in August 2018. I was sold on the idea that although they (State) are not the cheapest, they produce a top-quality water heater. The label on the water states it's an "XE" series, and according to their web page, the XE series has a 10-year warranty. To my surprise, after our heater ruptured 6 1/2 years after installation, they informed me that my particular unit only carries a 6-year warranty, not the 10-year as advertised.
I called them to inquire about the discrepancy and was treated to two unhelpful and rude customer service reps. Bottom line is they don't care.
If you are looking to purchase a new water heater, I hope this review encourages you to do more homework than I did, and be sure to research the particular unit and company and decide if you want to do business with State or not. As for me, I cannot recommend their product or the company.
