We absolutely love our solar system. Installation was LOUD but took only a day. The installers were super friendly and you could tell they truly loved their jobs. Our system looks great and we are producing our own clean energy, and we are paying less. It used to cost extra to do the correct environmental thing, but the electric bill savings cover almost the entire loan payment. Win/Win!

Customer service from sales representative and installation crew was excellent. I haven't had any issues with the equipment, very happy with their product and services. Unfortunately, I can't say the same thing about the finance part. The way that the finance company (Solar Finance Solutions) figures out the interest is very bad, I completely lost 6 or 7 months' worth of interest until I decided to pay it off in full.

This company Solar Smart Living, are simply outstanding. Solar Smart Living work crew personnel were able to repair all of the electrical deficiencies on my Solar Panels, that was improperly installed from another Solar Panel vendor. Solar Smart Living were also able to install the Critter Guard at a fair price, in one day. Excellent quality service, very professional and punctual. You cannot go wrong with this company.

My experience with Solar Smart Living, from the start of the project on my home until it was completed, was excellent. I dealt with their team through the entire process and their service was excellent. They answered all of the questions I had regarding the solar system and were honest, knowledgeable, and professional. They took care of all the permits and paperwork, did a fantastic job with installation, and are responsive to any requests. After two years I added more panels because our electric needs increased with hybrid cars and a kitchen remodel. To whom it may concern: It is my pleasure to compose this letter of recommendation. Solar Smart Living was the general contractor for a solar carport project at my home in the fall of 2020. I had no earlier association with them, and I was referred by a previous client. In an effort to practice due diligence, I requested several proposals from different solar installation companies with a reliable background. I met with all companies that provided a proposal. During the course of these meetings it was discovered by Solar Smart Living that solar panels located on the roof of my home would not be a viable option. This was due to the surrounding trees, which would only allowed for approximately 67-70 % efficiency. The option suggested was a solar carport which would provide 97% + efficiency. The carport does not detract from the overall presentation of my home.

1. Nature of work performed. The nature of the work done was reliably first class. They utilized subcontractors who were educated, experienced, and professional. They were straightforward about the project and its time requirements. Their work seldom required changes to the original plans outlined. When a change was required (due to circumstances beyond their control) they were quick to provide an option and completion update.

2. Trustworthiness and skill. All through the task, I was appreciative with Solar Smart Living's responsibility for creating a top-quality carport. When circumstances emerged where additional work was necessary, Solar Smart Living either dealt with it without charging me extra or included me in an educated format on what would be necessary to complete the structure. All things considered, I am very satisfied with the carport that was constructed at my home. The professionalism, workmanship, communication, and service have been outstanding. All the work was started and completed during the Covid 19 virus outbreak. Even with these extenuating circumstances, Solar Smart Living was conscious of social distancing, and practicing protocols outlined by the CDC. We bought a Sonnen battery system from SSL (Solar Smart Living LLC, Santa Teresa, NM) to add to a solar system being installed by local company. Most companies, which includes our local solar company, are unequipped and untrained to install these battery systems, but fortunately SSL is able to install them. But let me start from the beginning. About five years ago after a lengthy power outage we bought and installed a 22 kW Generac(R) generator. Now, however, we decided to go with solar and a battery in view of the likelihood of multiple, large electricity price hikes consequent to the Governor's wish to close the coal-fired Four Corners electric plant. We also wanted to utilize the Generac(R) in our power plans, however, this particular Generac(R) was too large to connect directly to the Sonnen battery system for recharging without adding a large resistor pack that could waste much power. SSL worked very well with our local solar company to integrate the solar system with both the battery system and the generator. The Generac(R) was dedicated to run all our 240v equipment (clothes dryer, AC, ovens, grill, etc.) while the battery system ran our regular 120v powered devices. Since installation we have had two outages that triggered battery-Generac(R) operation. The very first day after battery installation three successive outages prompted attention by SSL, who send a repairman late that evening, but he found nothing obvious. We later discovered that these outages were caused by a vehicle accident forcing our electric company to shift around power distribution in their system. Our system was very sensitive to those transfers, but we have not had that trouble again. The second outage was caused by the slightest of issues within the electric company connect breaker box; that loose connection seven months after installation caused a slight arcing that repeatably threw the breaker. This forced us into a weekend battery-Generac(R) off-grid operation. Our combined 20kW Sonnen battery and 22 kW Generac(R) systems kept our ~20 kW daily usage powered day and night; the battery system bottomed out at 17% one night. Meanwhile, our 9.15 kW (30x305w panels) solar system recharged the battery over each day over that three-day weekend. The SSL and Javier were very responsive to both issues, which we appreciate.

If you're looking for a “customer focused" great solar system company, Solar Smart Living, LLC is the one to go with! In August, I hired Solar Smart Living, LLC to install a solar system that was within my budget allowance with room to expand should I wish to do so in the future. Prior to hiring Solar Smart Living, LLC in 2017 to do the install I, as I always do, did extensive research and created spreadsheets that I could use when I selecting a company to meet my requirements. After interviewing four local companies I was extremely pleased with the knowledge base and expertise of Larry P. (owner). It was very obvious to me that Larry definitely knew his stuff. After providing me with a proposal which included the complete system specifications I did more research and as I came across items I didn't understand Larry was always available to answer my questions and clarify any technical concerns I might have had. On installation day several technicians showed up and quickly got to work. It took them approximately 4 �" 5 hours to complete the installation all the while accommodating my inquisitiveness and answering all of my questions while they worked; no matter how many questions I asked they always conducted themselves in a very professional and courteous manner when answering them; big kudos to the professionalism of the team. I'll also note that every time I had a question or concern regarding my solar system, post installation, my calls were always promptly and professionally handled with outstanding customer service. In August this year (2020) I decided to expand my system and once again contacted Larry P. (Owner) who readily answered my call and after a detailed discussion on system (Inverter) capacity and what was currently available regarding current panel technology we agreed that an addition of three panels was what was required to bring the system up to full capacity without exceeding system capability thus maximizing my return on investment. Larry then connected me with Solar Smart Living's head of engineering department (Paula) who was also very professional and courteous and coordinated sending a solar installation supervisor (Freddy) to meet with me. During our meeting Freddy, who was also customer oriented, professional and courteous, discussed exactly where the panels could be added to my system. On installation day, once again a team of four technicians showed up and did the entire installation of the new panels in a little over three hours. And once again all the while accommodating my inquisitiveness and answering all of my questions while they worked; and once again conducting themselves in a very professional and courteous manner, big kudos to the professionalism of this team. From my perspective it is very obvious to me that Larry P. (owner) is not only extremely knowledgeable in the business but cares enough to make sure his entire team is as well. Larry also insures that his employees make a priority of treating the customer with professionalism and courtesy at all times.
