I purchased two Royal Caribbean cruise tickets from Charity Get away Inc. at a silent auction held by the YMCA in Tavares Florida. Because of medical reasons we decided to sell the tickets. We found a buyer in April of this year and advised Greg Peaden, the owner of Charity Get Away, about the sale and he told us there was a $100.00 transfer fee, which we agreed to. Greg advised me by email my check would be cut the tenth of May 2012. On the twenty fifth of May I still had no check and contacted Greg again. He told me he had been out of town and he would send my check the following week. Since the first of June I have called and emailed Greg with no response, On the eighteenth of June I called Greg again on another phone and he answered. He claimed he had been in the hospital, the check was misdirected, his secretary messed it up. Instead of transferring my tickets as we agreed to, Greg Peaden sold my buyer a new cruise package. In the middle of our phone dispute Greg hung up on me saying if I kept on about this matter it was going to get real nasty. I am contacting the BBB today with a formal complaint, and filing small court papers this week. This could be the same Gregory A Peaden from Certs Inc., listed from previous complaint board articles. Greg has been lying to me for over a month and now claims I am the one being dishonest.

Its is extremely unfortunate to hear that this leech of an individual is still taking advantage of people by way of a fake scam designed to NEVER fulfill the obligations of its product. Even more concerning is the fact its being disguised under the category of a “Charity Get Away.” Greg, really?

To the author of this complaint: I will confirm all of your fears that you have mistakenly fallen victim to the biggest scam artist in the greater Orlando area. As a previous employee of this organization, I have seen the entire family work (father, son, daughter, friends) in sync to purposely write unredeemable certificates, lie to customers about the their travel that was never booked and would never be booked, and most disgusting of all – hold on to customer’s money with the purpose of not returning it. These people pay money to escape on a vacation that they couldn't afford on their own. As we all know the recession has crippled many people and that $ 75 to $100 a pop that he was keeping was likely the difference between someone losing his or her home, car, etc. The most disgusting part of the whole thing was that he spent money as if didn’t owe hundreds to thousands of people money. Quite frankly, I’m in utter disbelief that this man has not been shut him down permanently by the state, the feds, and any other regulatory body on behalf of consumers. If someone would just dig even remotely past the surface of his lies and scams, it isn’t hard to see that he is a dishonest business man who does not give a rat’s A** who he leaves in the wake of his destruction. There is a deceitful science to the management of these giveaways and there are no sunny beaches and pina colladas in the end. It appears that he just closes one business and opens a new one under a new name, but the same old tricks prevail. There is a overly apparent and obvious reason that he opens and closes new businesses like the seasons….its get in and get out; the oldest trick in the book.

To Greg: Is there really any level of deception that you won’t stoop below in order to make a dollar. Charity and fund raisers is a pretty low thing. I really hope that there are no children or school foundations associated with this scam, because then my question is answered – you would steal money from a child. It appears you even eat your own young, as I guess they couldn’t cut the mustard either and your ousted them eventually from the prized scam machine.

I can only imagine the backlash that the companies undergoing these fundraising and charity events are receiving as a result of your deceptive intentions. Aren’t you scared even a little bit about how openly you do and/or did your dirt? Just stop and ponder all of the employees who have witnessed it. Just saying…..walls are thin, especially when you are dealing with a cheap wad like yourself. If I run across any more recent complaints of this sort, I will happily post any relevant information that highlights the truth.

Moral of this story – The mighty do fall and a**holes do eventually finish last.

Isn't karma a bi*** :)
