Unauthorized charge
Today, I received a notice from Paypal I sent a payment to Scribd. I disputed with Paypal and they said it was authorized.
I went into my account at Scribd and it states I do not have a membership, nor is there history of payments, etc. I have screen shots to prove. In fact, when I click on links it takes me to a page to sign up for membership!
At one time, I did a trial with Scribd but immediately cancelled. I do not like reading books on my computer. I have not used it since.
I emailed Scribd but only received a canned response.
I want a full refund!

PayPal said they won't issue a refund because of my "subscription". I tried to send evidence I do not have a membership and they still refuse.

Unauthorized charges. I have been being charged and I want my money back I have never used your products!
Unauthorized charges to debit card
Over the past year, as far back as October 17, 2019 till October 19, 2020. I have been charged by Scribd without being notified, till I looked at my bank statement closely. I have not used your product, nor have an account with Scribd, or even remotely into audiobooks kind of person.
I have switched 2 debit cards over the past year, and somehow they still managed to charge me, the only thing my card is linked to is Paypal, and there has been no suspicious activity of logins anywhere else.
Please issue me the refund of the most recent charge from the last 30 days, per your terms and cancel my account or subscription that I did not sign up for. You can contact me at the following email: [protected]@gmail.com and the last digits of the CC is 7168

Unauthorized recurring bank charges
Starting 4/29/2019 scribd has taken a monthly recurring charge from my Bank account via Debit card. Email has failed to resolve, and they have NOT responded to my requests to call. The phone number provided with the Debit charge info only directs you to the website.
The website shows my email on file, Scribd responds to my email, but there is NOTHING in my payment history on the website.
From 2/27/2020 through the last few months, I emailed a complaint to Scribd. During attempts to resolve on email, i was asked to provide the last 4 digits of the card, and then the expiration date, which i did. I was then asked to provide the first SIX digits, which I refused to do. I asked the person to call me an they did not. The Service number is #2551158.

Posting my personal documents
Scribd has my resume with personal information on their site. They all have all my documents posted from my job portfolio binder. I have not ever authorized use of my documents. I have tried e-mailing them, however; they don't contact back. This is highly distressing and illegal. I do not know who obtained them, but i want it all removed! This personal informtaion puts my safety at risk and sets me up for identity theft. It is unacceptable that they can't even get back to a person. They don't evenhave a number to call. just an email address.

Unauthorized Debit Card Charge
I was shocked to see this charge even if I didnt even subscribed or registered to their site. I felt like I was hacked coz I dont remember giving my card and bank information to them.

Unauthorized billing to my credit card for over 2 years.
Today, September 4th, 2020, I looked at my visa bill and noticed a payment I didn't recognize. A $8.99 USD charge from "Scribd Inc 415-2336230 CA" on August 27th, 2020.
I went through my billing statements, and I have been billed monthly starting July 24th 2018 for a total of 26 charges. This adds up to more than $300 CAD.
I never subscribed to this service. I checked all my regular email addresses and I have never received any mail from them. Before today I had never even heard of Scribd. I don't have an account through Facebook or Google.
What really confuses me is that I received a charge last month. I got a new card last month, and with the new number, the charges should have stopped. I have no idea how they got my new credit card number.
I want a full refund of all charges.
I can provide credit card statements for every affected month. I would contact Scribd directly, but I their Contact Us page is devoid of any email or phone number.

This statement submitted by Scribd is a total lie. I was charged ra year ago 2021 and disputed the charge. They issued me a new card but never block this company not turned off the automatic charge the company had to my account which gave them access to my new card. The charges continued and I had to call my credit card company again to stop these people from stealing from me. This was done to two of my credit cards. Keep in mind I have never signed up for any free trial or service with this company EVER. They went from charging $10.59 to $12.71 the nerve of them to increase what didn't belong to them in the first place. They are taking advantage of some loopholes in the the crefit card system.
I am also dealing with this. I have no clue how I got on this subscription. I’m super unhappy about it.

charged me $CAD 11.20, on 11 June SCRIBD INC [protected] CA charged me CAD$11.17, on 11 July SCRIBD INC [protected] CA charged me CAD$11.57, and on 11 August SCRIBD INC [protected] CA also charged me $11.60.

I also have been charged for a service I have not requested. The website is impossible to navigate to any kind of assistance other than a robot answer service. Please direct me to where I can ensure that I am not billed any further
Same issue — at a minimum, provide a phone number so we can resolve these issues. the number provided on the bank charge only directs one to the website.
Subscription / unauthorized charge
Hello, I recently filed a complaint but will file another:
I have been getting charged from this Service for over a year now and I am just now learning of it. I never authorized this subscription and never authorized payment of $9.53 per month.
Further, I tried several email addresses on this Service's Website, and none come up valid, meaning I never signed up.
It seems to be a common thing on this site (over 150 complaints of people being charged for a service they never signed up for).
I need to speak with someone directly, and I need to have these charges reimbursed. Please provide an email or phone number in which I can speak with customer service to have this resolved.
Also - apparently I need an account to submit a claim, so I will be creating one for that purpose - ridiculous.

Seems to be a theme on this site - I never signed up for a subscription yet I somehow have over a year's worth of monthly charges.
I need these reimbursed immediately - this is unacceptable.

I ended my one time subscription of $9.99 back in may/june, after many repeated attempts to contact scribd via email and phone. They do not answer their phone for customer service, and only steer you to their website. Finally I got confirmation of cancellation.
Now I have received another debit on paypal for $9.99 the month of july. After expressly received cancellation again, am unable to contact anyone by phone.
I am furious! Request a refund immediately, and permanent end to billing!

What I dont understand is that this is happening without a prior intimation or a warning!

Automatic deduction from my checking account
Since June, 2020 I noticed a deduction from my checking account for $9.59. I do not recall agreeing to any membership with this company. I need to be reimbursed those fees. Please investigate as to why this amount is being deducted from my account. How did they obtain my bank account number? I am concerned that this is fraud. I do not recall agreeing to any type of membership.

Monthly credit card charge with no record of ever signing up for anything
I have an $8.99 monthly credit card charge with no record of ever signing up for anything from Scribd Inc. I seem to remember the charges started while dealing with Register.com. I just figured it was part of that. I recently cancelled all dealings with Register.com but the Scribd charges continue. I don't know what Scribd does and have never used their products or service. I tried to sign-in to their website but they do not recognize my email. That figures since I never signed up to Scribd Inc. I've reviewed all emails from the time frame when the charges started and there is no conformation email of signing up with Scribd Inc. I don't know where they got my credit card information.

Hi, I've just noticed that Scribd Inc. have been taking monthly amounts from my account $8.99 since 2018. I have no idea why are you charging this amount, no record memory of setting an account with you and never heard of you, so don't understand why this charge! Can you please cancel this and provide a full refund?

No product requested - credit card deducted monthly - not authorised
I have just noticed that my credit card has been deducted $15 per month since last august. I did not authorise this and in fact have never heard of scribd until this happened. I have notified the nz police as it appears to be a case of credit card fraud. I understand that scribd offers monetary incentives for people who 'sell" subscriptions'. It would appear that someone has stolen my credit card details and onsold them to a third party who has 'signed me up ' for a subscription. I have cancelled the credit card.
Would you be prepared to reimburse me the 10 months subscription that I did not order or receive if I provide copies of my credit card statements?

Payments without consent
I have been complaining for over 6 weeks. I had never heard of the company and they have been withdrawing in the region of $8-$10 per month for over 13 months. Despite my complaint, they have continued to withdraw from my bank. There most recent reply was "we cannot find your details, I'll pass you on to a different dept". No follow up! Frustrated.

Scribd has been chraging my BofA credit card monthly for $8.99. Aside from never hearing of the company I went to their website to see if I could log in and Scribd log in did not recognize my email address [protected]@gmail.com so it begas the question wherre did they get my billing information from? I Have just noticed that Scribd have been taking monthly amounts from my account since Nov 2018. I have no idea who you are, no account with you, no invoices, no bills and never received one e-mail from you.
I just signed up now with my e-mail address to see who the hell you were. As suspected, no subscription, no card details on account, no downloads.
These payments are unlawful and I will be following up with your appropriate local authority if I have no full refund (from Nov 2018 until March 2020) within 15 days.

Charge on credit card
Hi, I received a notification from my bank saying that I was charged 8.99 since 2018 until now, from Scribd Inc 415-2336230 US. I have never visited the website, I never participated in any free trials or purchases ever. I'm not sure when or why I was charged this and where it is coming. It about 2 years and I have lost about RM500 (usd8. 99 every month since 2018) in this 2 years. And I coulnt find which platform I have subscribed.

I have the same problems where they refuse to stop charging me. Honestly thinking of putting in a complaint with the Federal Goverment in their customer protections programs because they do this to everyone they can get away with.
