Sandman of North Atlanta review: Lawn service

Sandman claims we own $800 for services rendered over 4 years ago. The Sandman spread topsoil after we had canceled service. Fortunately, we have documented communications confirming we canceled.

In an attempt to resolve this, the Sandman requested that we pay for materials, which we did. Again, we have documents to support this.

The Sandman has filed suit is state court. Normally disputes like this are settled in small claims court. Filing is state court is a tactic used to force settlement because you need an attorney. An attorney’s fees are often more than the amount in dispute. No attempt has been made to collect or solve this prior to the suit. I believe he waited right up to the statute of limitations to file, in hopes we would not have retained documents. Not a very ethical way of doing business. In frivolous cases, defendants can seek attorney’s fees if they prevail. We will be requesting those fees when our case is tried.
