Employee beware ! If you work in the office you will be treated like crap. If you work in the field you will be treated like crap, and work unsafe. Rogers does not give a crap about its employees only cares about making money! If you do not mind being cursed at and treated like crap then this is the place for you. Like working under stressful conditions this is the place for you.

It will be fun to sit back and watch this company fall. Scott is putting the N.E. in a hole by pushing out so many guys. Sure they will rehire, but who? Some 20 year old who cannot do the job. None of the stores are going to put up with that. Just remember what goes around comes around, and it comes back and bits you in the [censor].

Nice post above, again a Rogers employee who doesnt even know that when referring to I it needs to be capitilized. Granted the company has changed and all tech's know it changes but the problem exists that unfortuntely it hasn't change for the good but only for the bad. Please you sat behind the wheel for a short 6 months and still know nothing. Linn is a very smart man and we all enjoyed working for him but we really dont like working for you. Rest assured if Linn was still in charge you wouldn't be in the position you are, he only placed qualified people in the proper positions. Perhaps the tech's wouldn't be complaining if they hadn't lost so much, like 401k, raises, and most of all RESPECT. I think we all agree and understand that Linn has made his children owners and are fine with that like you said it's his perogitive. The fact remains there not qualified but even that's okay.

Round table meeting, WHAT? The meaning behind these meetings are to find what can make a company flow better. You invited two weak, subservient and soft weak kneed Techs. The third spoke up, to no surprise was not backed by the two. The fourth is a carpenter that is working in the office with Scott Lucas . so his loyalties lie with Scott Lucas . Try better, Thanks for getting rid of me, things have yet to improve. Dam it really sucks being home at 3:30, working 6 miles the house on the prevailing wage jobs. There is plenty of work out there for trained professionals, so do not worry about your jobs, vote OBama next election there is change happening. I voted the way the company asked, not what was best.

So let me get this right, they call it a round table meeting, think the table with the 4 of us and Chris and Ernesto were sitting at was round.? So the biggest thing is we feel were treated like a number. That meeting was 3 weeks ago and to my surprise I no longer feel like a number, I feel much more of like a prisoner feels. You know why Ernesto and Chris cant fix this? Ernesto, working at Home Depot and getting your education at a home improvement warehouse which is failing by the way just wont cut it. Chris, honestly it’s time to drop the silver spoon and take the bull by the horns. Neither of you have the balls to get rid of the assh**e in the Jersey office. Consistency, LOL, the only thing consistent is each person placed in charge is more of an [censor] than the one before. Suck it up guys and realize you messed this one up bad. Put your egos aside for a minute and realize Scott Lucas was not the answer. You made another mistake (big surprise). A good leader will listen to what the men are telling him, you two just cant put 2 and 2 together and get some balls and get rid of the jack [censor]. Lindsey why don’t you right a layoff slip that actually would make sense? It’s obvious Daddy isn’t leading anymore you two are a disgrace, Enough said.

I love it. More oval shaped. You crack me up.

I can't really remark on Scott. I don't know the guy. From what I have read here, his appointment might have been questionable. I guess only time will tell.

OK, I get where you are coming from, but what about the others that where fired? and is it worth the toll on your family? How is it beneficial to them when you miss so much with them and your not recieving a pay raise or anything towards your 401 k. How is that helping?

I am not sure how my exact location would be relevant. The fact that I work for LRE should be sufficient. If I were to be honest on my profile, somehting I say might be offensive to someone. Besides, this is the internet. The land of make believe.
Are there days I wish I were working somewhere else? Absolutely.
Do I work long hours? Absolutely.
Does my family pay the price for working at LRE? Absolutely.
Am I at work more than at home? Absolutely.
Does my family benefit from working at LRE? Absolutely.
Is this one of the best places I have worked? Absolutely. Not sure about the NE though.
Do I plan on staying here for some time? Absolutely.
There are some people in this country that refuse to pay taxes. They are categorized as revolutionaries by our government. They argue that your wage is not income. It is something that your employer trades you for your time. It is not income. It is an exchange. That is what our time is, an exchange. Sometimes the deal is not fair and I give more than I receive in the exchange. Sometimes the deal is not fair and I give less than I receive in the exchange.
The fact of the matter remains that when either party feels the exchange is no longer beneficial, the exchange is dissolved. Take NMR for example. I know him, I have met him and I truly have no problem with him. I actually like the round guy. I would never say anything ill about him because he has never done anything to me. Apparently his boss did not feel the exchange was mutually beneficial and ended the relationship. For what reason, I do not know. The fact remains he is still a good guy. He is just employed somewhere else and will probably move again.
This is probably my twentieth contractor in my career. When you leave one, you move on to another. This is how it goes. That is why we have a trade. Have tools will travel. Right? I do not need a truck to earn. I do not need a factory to earn. I do not even need a specific company to earn. I am a skilled tradesman and my trade is needed everywhere. Same as NMR. He will survive.
Once I feel the exchange is no longer mutually beneficial, I would dissolve the relationship. When you feel the exchange is no longer beneficial, you will dissolve the relationship. When our bosses feel the exchange is no longer mutually beneficial, they will dissolve the exchange. Nature of the beast fellas.

Good luck NMR.

It never gets boring. You guys are so entertaining. I sometimes feel left out given I am not in the NE region. This is truly good stuff. Please keep posting.

Winston Churchill once said "Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference." With this much frustration, I can see how it would be difficult to maintain a good attitude. Keep letting your frustration out on this post and you might find your job more enjoyable. Maybe.

Hard to believe that a million dollar company has nothing better to do then worry about who is posting on this board. Perhaps if you put more time and effort into your company and how to run it this would not be an issue. True sign of why you would have so many unhappy employees. Your dipping your own grave. Seems like the person you are blaming is leaving his name on his post. WOW must be something in the water?

I am NMR, Scott and the rest of you back stabbing [censor]. I have not spoke to anyone form your company for a while. You tried to blame everything on me such as this board, people speaking out, emails, facebook and what ever you think of . I go to court then close on a house the next day and blame something on me that I could not have enough time to do. I am a bad person, look in the mirror Scott. You spoke to me and a few other techs to help you out, puff, back stabbing [censor]. You tried to get the call center to get me in trouble with something you blew out of proportion, at least have the courage to when you come to Pittsburgh to sit a table and not look worried. Why not have Anothony and Bino call me some more to find out my travel plans. I thought they called about the court case, it turns out they call for eggs. Scott, have the never and call me if have a question.

Ya all think it's only Neal who posts here, once again that shows the ignorance of Rogers Electric. It's been many months now that this board has been up and it never ceases to amaze me. What I have read on this board in the past 6 or 7 months is not only opinions but facts. Lindsey you still know nothing, Scott your still a dumb [censor], Chris, you have now become the nutless monkey along with Lucas. Why isn't Russell there anymore? If you work in this office the answer will become obvious to you too. Where is Pete Hutchins? In case you dont know he is Florida with a growing business himself that will challenge Rogers in the future. It will take time but when you have an inside track it is much easier to obtain some of Rogers clients. Again, you see where the ignorance and stupidity of managment is taking them? You see they still cant see the road ahead because of there ignorance and stupidity. Neal and all others who have postd here I would like to thank you for your opinions and facts. I personally will continue to offer information and contacts to others that will be beneficial in dismantling Rogers Electric.

I have to agree with you. The Atlanta office is hell to work in, no respect for anyone. Unless of coarse you kiss [censor]. Your pushed and pushed and promised the world and nothing ever happened's. Your just here to make the rich, richer. Selfish greedy people. Sad part is they cannot face the fact that this board is full of unhappy people. Word around the office is some guy from PA who was fired is responsible for it. I guess you point blame if it makes you fell better. I happened to know for a fact this person is not. Just ask big mouth she'll tell you everything, she always does. The greedy gets it in the end, and they will.

Hey how are we going to get info now that the big mouth is gone, she's the one who would leak everything from the office. Got to say nothing but assho*ls in the NJ office. They were all meant for each other.

When Lucas call me to correct my behavior I think of these

1. “Are you always this stupid or are you making a special effort today?”

2. “I don't know what makes you so dumb, but it really works.”

3. “Brains aren't everything. In fact, in Scott Lucas; case they're nothing.”

4. “Scott Lucas does the work of three men: Larry, Curly, and Moe.”

5. “I heard you got a brain transplant and the brain rejected you.”

6. “Scott Lucas doesn't know the meaning of the word "fear"—but then again he doesn't know the meaning of most words.”

7. “I don't want you to turn the other cheek—it's just as ugly.”

8. “See, that's what's meant by dark and handsome. When it's dark, he's handsome.”

9. “The only squeeze he's concerned with is the one he can give his pud.”

10. “His definition of mixing business with pleasure is making other miserable .”

11. “The only skill he's ever developed is the art of being obnoxious.”

12. “He's not been himself lately—he's been almost bearable.”

13. "DI*K"

14. “As an outsider, what do you think of the human race?”

15. “He's the type of man who doesn't leave anything to your imagination and leaves even less to your patience.”

16. “Anything Scott hears goes in one ear and out through the telephone.”

17. “Don't you need a license to be that dumb?”

18. “He is living proof that man can live without a brain.”

19. “I bet your mother has a loud bark.”

20. “He's such a liar, you can't even believe him when he says that he's only lying.

You know your a bad boss when---

If you observe your employees sharing the phone number of a good employment attorney, you might be a bad boss.

If you treat your employees like your 12 year old daughter, you are definitely a bad boss.

A motivational sign at work: The beatings will continue until morale improves. A direct quote from the Boss: "We passed over a lot of good people to get the ones we hired."

Some people climb the ladder of success. My Boss walked under it.

HR Manager to job candidate "I see you've had no computer training. Although that qualifies you for upper management, it means you're under-qualified for our entry level positions."

This one's for you Scott

Bad bosses:

Have No Clear Goals. If your team has no clue of the goals or expectations they should be working towards, this may be a weak area for you. In such cases, there are either no goals at all; the goals are unrealistic; or they are unclear to the team. This leads your team to believe that either their boss doesn't know what they are doing, doesn't care, or doesn't want them to be in the loop.

Deliver Poor or No Communication. These are the silent types, who revel in their team not knowing what they are thinking. Bad Bosses don't feel it necessary to communicate how the company is doing, nor how employees are performing in their jobs. They just don't communicate, and rarely show any emotion - good or bad.

Hold No One Accountable. When there is no communication of team standards or goals, Bad Bosses really can't hold anyone accountable for excellence or even mediocre job performance. They are apt turn a blind eye, allowing rampant compromise throughout the workplace - and in spite of their lack of accountability, they are not approachable and some employees even fear them.
Often Blames Others. When things don't go as they planned or expected, Bad Bosses are quick to point fingers at everyone except themselves - especially when their team doesn't perform up to par. While self-accountability is out of the question, they find it easy to blame inefficient work systems, processes, and staff members (all within their sphere of control) for their inability to meet company-wide goals and performance standards.

Have No Strategy for Improvement or Team Success. Stubbornly believing that strategizing is a waste of time, they just don't bother with it. Bad Bosses have a false belief that they are doing fine as is; and because often the powers that be (senior leaders and board members) don't hold them accountable for positive change, things remain in a constant state of confusion for both customers and employees.

Never Delegate. To mask their fear of employee empowerment, Bad Bosses fail to properly train and delegate challenging tasks to their team members. They are cynical when it comes to their team, and don't feel that anyone has the intellect or capacity to perform their job satisfactorily. Therefore, the team remains stagnant and virtually paralyzed in the absence of leadership.

Don't Mentor Others. To them, training and development of staff, and mentoring is a waste of time. They often say, "No one ever mentored or developed me and I turned out alright." Bad Bosses have no concept of how to synergistically collaborate with their team to help them grow and excel in their jobs. Unfortunately, Bad Bosses practice "tough love" when it comes to on-the-job training.
Now take a minute and assess your current workplace. How many of these poor leadership behaviors do you or your leaders regularly exhibit? When you are treated like this, how does it make you feel? If this information has helped you surfaced some of your blind spots, now is a good time to make a change an order to increase your effectiveness as a leader.

Bottom-line, while Bad Bosses negatively impact the work environment by fostering high levels of employee frustration, stress, resentment, and unnecessary labor turnover - there are simple things that every leader can do to improve the work environment and drive excellence. It just takes a little commitment!Try less time jerking off and more time devoted to your employees.

Lets start with the economy, they go on and on that the economy is bad be thankful you have a job. True I am thankful to be working but not thankful to be treated badly. You forget it’s the techs that bring in the money. I think Chris Rogers should go on the show undercover boss and get a clue. I am thankful I no longer have to deal with Hailey’s big ego anymore. To bad she could not have taken Scott with her. Don’t even get me started on the new hires. Had the pleasure of working with one. These guy are clueless, they have no idea what they are doing. It’s only a matter of time before someone gets hurt. It will be a customer or employee of a store, then your really screwed. How can you hire people when the one hiring has no electrical experience. When you can not do the job yourself then how can you know the one your hiring can do it. There are a lot of pissed off managers out there. Give it time and your going to start seeing less and less jobs on your board. These managers are looking elsewhere. What happened to quality work? Pride in what your putting out ? Remember it’s your name on it.

To address Katey01 yes I do work a lot, more than you, to much. My family has suffered because of it. You obviously are in the wrong field of work, which shows why you lack so much in your job. Kindergarten teacher would have suited you better. I agree a million dollar company needs more than electrical experience alone. However you need managers with experience. How can you [censor] at someone about the length of time it should take to do a job when you have never picked up a tool yourself? Or even give them crap about material needed for a job when you don’t even know what half of it is called. It’s called putting the right person in the right position. You cannot manage a job if you cannot do it yourself. It’s called clueless managing. Most companies have managers that could go out and work side by side with the field if needed. Most companies have managers that have worked there way up to that position from the field. This way they know how to manage. It’s just smart business. You wouldn’t hire someone to watch your kids with no babysitting experience would you? I know my wife wouldn’t. Its common sense. If your going to be a manager you have to have walked the walk. As far as taking only what we will give, that’s B.S. and you know it! If you don’t give and give, they threaten to take your job! There is no blame here just the truth. Get off your [censor] and spend a day in anyone of our shoes. You wouldn’t last. You talk about me having to much time, you had time for your two cent now didn’t you. The biggest problem with this place, it’s not what you know it’s who you know, or who your related to. That’s what will kill you in the end. The accounts expect quality. I find it funny you seem to have singled me out, with all the other complaints here. Get over the fact I am not the only one. Your round table meetings mean nothing. When you stop blowing smoke up our [censor] this will all go any. Stop and think? This all started when yet another inexperienced person was put in a position he should not be in. Between that and his attitude what do you expect? I understand attitude for you may be hard to understand with yours being what it is. I can tell you it does not work. All it achieves is bring down morale. As you can read! People who walk around like there [censored] don’t stink are just that [censored]! Maybe I don’t have that much time on my hands, I just type faster then you.

Here’s a tip that could help- “How to hire a manager”

•1
Look for someone with knowledge of your industry. A great manager should know the industry well enough to effectively manage those who are already working within this industry. This person must also be able to pinpoint strategies that will differentiate your business from others. This person should also be able to perform the job they are managing.

•2
Seek an organized person. Not only will a great manager have to implement a plan to reach the company’s goals, but may also have to organize employee work schedules.

•3
Find a team player. A great manager must be able to work well with people; especially those this person will be supervising. Someone who can’t be a team player will not be able to be a good leader.

•4
Search for a motivator. A great manager can motivate and inspire others to reach the company’s goals. This person must also be able to recognize employee efforts and carefully address employees who stray away from company policy.

•5
Find out why each candidate wants to be your manager. Listen to their answers carefully to distinguish between candidates who are looking for a way to grow with your company and industry, and those who are looking for a job with less responsibilities or what they think will be an easier job.

•6
Ask each candidate about their educational background and favorite subjects. Some candidates will list having a degree even though they may have not finished it or took courses they did not like to have a particular degree.

•7
Find out what each candidate most liked and disliked about their previous job. You want to screen out individuals who shied away from organizational duties, who would rather work in individual settings or disliked working with people.

•8
Seek information on each candidate’s salary requirements. You do not want to consider a candidate who is too costly for your company; but on the other hand if he seems like an ideal candidate, ask him if he is willing to consider a salary outside of his requirements.

•9
Look for the reason each candidate left their previous job. Inquire about excessive tardiness or absences, conflicts with co-workers or customers, or mishandling company information. Some candidates will purposely withhold information if they are not asked for it.

•10
Obtain information about each candidate’s criminal background by asking applicants for good conduct certificates from all jurisdictions they lived in. Criminal screening is a non-discriminatory practice as long as you show that “the job duties have a substantial relationship to the crime committed.” This means that you can’t deny a job to someone solely based on a criminal history, but you would not give a bank manager job to someone with a prior history of a series of bank robberies. As an employer you have the right to protect your work place, minimize theft and avoid possible lawsuits.

Now just think how much time you took to read this? Get my point?

Well lets just say for those in New England have found out the truth right from the get go. The knowledge of the jobs (that are being explained to the area is always the wrong information) so we as a group have decided to do all dealing be email so there is always a record of their actions and we as a group have decided to do it our way and ignore them when they speak.
We as a group know all about Scott and the rest of the back office who in our thoughts do seem to be inept with a few people who do seem to have knowledge of their job.
So thank you West Coast for sending your Monkey on your back to us we so surly appreciate it.

Bad enough Best Buy boys can't stand you!

Well it seems that the board has accomplished what it was that i expected it to do. It has been read by the upper management, they blocked it from the company access, not done anything to enhance the employee moral and most of all has become a thorn in their side. They read it at least once a day, they some how are able to get updates, however; they can not handle that people feel the way they do. The are trying to trace down the who is putting up what, why? So they can get ride of those persons also. They are now paying more money now for techs to travel then before. Altoona to Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh to NJ, all in the same day. That is real smart on Hailey and Scott Lucas' part. What about the payment of the rental trucks even better, do not worry about the sleeping that is taking place now that there is no GPS in the trucks.

Well I am only at this a short time and there is some truth on this board. I can only say I agree with most of it but not all. My complaint is defintely on the safety policies of this company. Get the rules right and actually enforce what you have, your words are bul*[censored] and it's obvious that they cant keep there word. So all in all I agree oh and the picture is the one day Scott Lucas actually tried to help, like the result?

Look I'm not management and not Scott. I sat through that whole safety meeting just like you. Im just talking about my experience with this company. I hate to say it but some people bring it on them selfs. I'm not defending Rogers or agree with everything they do. About the NY techit sucks what happened to him and I don't agree with what they did to him. He is a great electrician. As for the PA tech, I didn't know him and could care less. My name was brought up in rumors that I know came from him and he didn't even know me. And saying I must be management because I've never missed a birthday that's BS. Cause I tell them I can't do it and my family comes first. I just don't understand if everybody is so damn unhappy then why are they still here. As for giving a real name, I don't see anyone elses real name.

Scott, You're weary. You're frustrated. You're unhappy. You're demotivated. Your interaction with your the techs leaves us cold. You're a bully, intrusive, controlling, picky or petty. Scott, you rarely provides positive feedback and miss most meeting you schedules with us. You cave immediately under pressure and fails to support us in accomplishing our task.

Lindsey Rogers, you are the enemy of happiness? You are a Crazy bosses? (really the head of HR on paper) Butt heads like you, who make a person feel guilty because they put family over business for a while? Numbnuts like you who put their bonuses ahead of the well-being of the folks they manage? Yes, indeed. Lindsay you are indeed the carrier of the virus of misery. Now imagine that very same entity(Lindsey) — a mean, punitive, abusive — as a tiny little insect trapped under an inverted drinking glass. You can see her. She seems to be screaming and waving her arms around, but oh so far away. You can barely hear her! Who could possibly be bothered by this tiny thing and its inconsequential buzzing? That is you, if not for the greatness of your father and brother you would be nothing, the company would fail.
Things about Lindsay
She tells enough white lies to ice a cake
She's got such a narrow mind, when she walks fast her earrings bang together
Brassy, brazen witch on a mortgaged broomstick, a steamroller with cleat

Your marriage was like Easter, you met him, married him and on the third divorced him. The smartest man alive is your ex husband. That is if he is still alive
