Rhino Shield of New England I just had my house done by Rhino Shield, and it looks amazing

I just had my house done by Rhino Shield, and it looks amazing. The whole team went above and beyond what I expected. I would recommend Rhino Shield to everyone. Not having to paint the house again is a big win for me. The salesman wasn't pushy, the inside sales staff was great, and the crew that did the work was outstanding. I'm really happy with the results.

Rhino Shield of New England Don't waste your money!

Don't waste your money! We purchased a home with a transferred warranty, but unfortunately, Rhino Shield of New England only covers cracked and chipped areas. Our house looks terrible, and to make matters worse, they only sent us one gallon of blue paint to touch up our large house, which is badly faded. It doesn't make sense! They also provided us with three gallons of white paint for the trim. The paint on the chimney has flaked off so badly that the boards are falling apart. It's clear that they are scammers.

Rhino Shield of New England Beware! This company is a fraud!

Beware! This company is a fraud! ***, the person in charge, seems pleasant at first, but when things don't go his way, be careful! I would never recommend them to anyone! They left my house in a terrible state! They forced me to sign an agreement after they couldn't complete the work and caused damage to my home. They even threatened that I wouldn't receive my $24,000 refund unless I signed the agreement for only $700. They did this to protect themselves from being sued! Stay far away from this company!

Rhino Shield of New England I wouldn't even give this one star if I could

I wouldn't even give this one star if I could. We hired Rhino Shield of New England to apply their Rhinoshield coating to our house back in 2012. Almost right away, it started to fail, with bubbling and peeling occurring. I've reached out to the owners multiple times and even sent them pictures to register my complaint. However, every time I contacted them, they responded in a hostile manner, blaming our house and claiming that the wood was the issue. They didn't even have the decency to come and see the problems for themselves. As a result, our house is deteriorating from the inside out and now requires a complete stripping and re-siding. It's been a complete nightmare. If you look at other reviews, you'll find similar negative experiences, all of which were met with hostile responses from the owners. I strongly advise against using this product.

Rhino Shield of New England The house looks great, but the company won't come back to finish painting our new cellar doors that they shredded to do

The house looks great, but the company won't come back to finish painting our new cellar doors that they shredded to do. Also, the painter had kids working for him that stepped in the paint and got it on our brand new expensive deck. I asked for tarps when we set up the contract, and no tarps were put down until I readied the painter to use them. They also got paint on our rug by our front door. They were supposed to come back to finish painting the cellar door and remove the paint on the deck, and they never did. I have texted and called several times with no returned phone calls or texts.

As for the company, they were really professional and informative. It all started with ***, the sales rep I met. She understood me perfectly and convinced me without being pushy, which was great. The crew they sent to do the work was really knowledgeable and professional. They worked really hard, harder than I've seen in a while. And let me tell you, I've been in business as a contractor for forty years. They were the real deal! The girls in the office were also really attentive and answered all my questions and concerns. If the product is as good as the company that installs it, I should be really happy with it.

Rhino Shield of New England Our Rhino Shield project was completed Thursday June 4

Our Rhino Shield project was completed Thursday June 4. Scott and I both wanted to thank the amazing team of people that worked on our home. Brett, Ademir Leal and his team, Florenico, Priscilla, Epifanio, Abilia, Al & Pablo worked so very hard on making our home look as beautiful as we imagined. They answered any questions we had as they worked. They are the hardest working group of people I have ever seen & met. Ademir walked the property on the final day with myself & Scott and any touch ups that were needed, were done. Our neighbors have all commented that our house looks brand new. The UPS driver thought he was in the wrong neighborhood. :) We are very happy with the results and would recommend Rhino-Shield.

Rhino Shield of New England We had our house on ***'s Vineyard prepared and painted by RhinoShield in 2011

We had our house on ***'s Vineyard prepared and painted by RhinoShield in 2011. Overall, we've been really happy with the product, especially because the house doesn't get stained by mold like it did when we used oil-based paint. In 11 years, no mold, not even on the north side. But in the last few years, we did have some peeling, especially in the sunny areas. I reached out to the Pembroke office in Nov. 2021 and sent them pictures of the issues. It was hard to get a clear answer about when they would do the work, but they finally came at the end of Sept. 2022 and did a really good job. They sanded and primed all the problem spots, and even painted the whole front of the house to make sure the colors matched. The crew they sent was amazing - hardworking guys who were careful, considerate, and thorough. The house looks great again. I'm a happy camper.

Rhino Shield of New England The customer service is the WORST EVER

The customer service is the WORST EVER. I got my house painted in October, and within *** days, the paint started bubbling. I followed the warrantee instructions and sent pictures of the bubbling to the address provided. But guess what? The package got returned to me because the address was unknown. So, I decided to send it to Rhino Shield in Pembroke on November 29th. It's been a while, and I still haven't heard anything from them. The warrantee doesn't cover ANYTHING, and they even charge $450 just to have someone look at the damage after the first 12 months. If you want to transfer the warrantee when you sell your house, they'll charge you $350. And if they send a crew to fix the damage, they'll charge you for labor. Good luck trying to get a call back from them. My husband called the owner multiple times, but he never got a call back. They act all attentive until they get their first check, and then they disappear. *** was our sales rep, and she vanished as soon as she got her check. I wouldn't recommend this company.

The sales guy from Rhino Shield of New England came to my house and after measuring a bit, he said he needed to go to the back of my property to pee before continuing. I offered him to use my bathroom as long as he wore a mask, and he agreed. He was about to start his product presentation when I mentioned that my wife couldn't join us because she wasn't feeling well. He said he had to come back because the company policy required the spouse to be present. He reminded me that they had told me this when I made the appointment and scolded me for not having my wife there. I assured him that I could make a decision without her, but he doubted it because the cost was over $30K. I assured him that I had the "authority" to decide, and he responded with something like, "And then you'll tell me you have to talk to your wife." I told him I was offended by his insinuations about my decision-making ability and that it was time for him to leave and stop wasting my time. He told me not to call the company again and said I was wasting his time. Clearly, this company representative was unprofessional and unwilling to accommodate me, even though my wife was sick and couldn't participate.

Rhino Shield of New England Company advertised 25 year warranty on house painting

Company advertised 25 year warranty on house painting. The paint began peeling after 8 years, but they claim the cause was rotting wood beneath the paint. Some boards may actually be rotted, but not the entire house.

I gotta say, I was pretty stoked when I heard about Rhino Shield of New England's 25-year warranty on house painting. I mean, who wouldn't want their paint job to last that long, right? But boy, was I in for a disappointment.

After just 8 years, the paint on my house started peeling off like nobody's business. I was like, "What the heck? This ain't supposed to happen!" So, I reached out to Rhino Shield, hoping they would fix it under their warranty.

But you know what they said? They claimed that the peeling was all because of rotting wood beneath the paint. Now, I ain't no expert, but I find it hard to believe that the entire house had rotting wood. Maybe some boards were rotten, sure, but the whole shebang? Nah, I don't buy it.

I gotta admit, I'm pretty disappointed with Rhino Shield. I mean, if they're gonna advertise a 25-year warranty, they better back it up. It's not cool to blame the customer for something that's clearly their responsibility.

So, if you're thinking about getting your house painted by Rhino Shield of New England, just be aware that their warranty might not be as solid as they claim. Don't get me wrong, they might do a decent job with the paint, but if something goes wrong, don't expect them to take full responsibility.

Rhino Shield of New England We spent thousands of dollars on Rhino Shield and their lifetime warranty

We spent thousands of dollars on Rhino Shield and their lifetime warranty. The product faded a lot, and when we called and sent pictures to show the fading, they said they would come and fix it for free, just like they promised in their ads. But they kept delaying and when they finally came, they tried to charge us over 3k to fix their bad product, even though they said it was covered by the warranty. They left the job when we said we wouldn't pay them.

Rhino Shield of New England I got a more complete timeline

I got a more complete timeline. In October , we hired RhinoShield of New England to do their thing on our house. They worked on it from 11/08 to 11/21, and it cost us a total of $47,500. The Lifetime Warranty was a big reason why we chose them. On 10/5, we reached out to Rhinoshield because we noticed some white spots showing through the dark brown paint. Between 10/5 and 7/28/2022, we've had 21 voice and email exchanges with our Rhino Shield contact, ***. *** told us right away that an inspector needed to check out our work to see if it was covered, and if it was, they would fix the problem. But it's been over 10 months now, and *** still hasn't been able to get an inspector to come to our house or make a decision about the warranty coverage.

Rhino Shield of New England I reached out to Rhino Shield of New England last April 'cause my house had some peeling issues

I reached out to Rhino Shield of New England last April 'cause my house had some peeling issues. They originally applied the coating in 2009, and my warranty clearly states it's for a lifetime, not just 25 years like they're suddenly claiming. Since I got in touch with them, they've been making all sorts of excuses to avoid coming and inspecting the damage. They promised twice to send someone over, but they never showed up. Now they're blaming the whole Covid-19 situation for their inability to assess the damage, even though all they have to do is take a stroll to my backyard and look up. No need for any face-to-face interaction. On top of that, they've warned me that if I hire a licensed painter to fix it, they'll void my warranty. I'm trying to sell my home, but I can't list it until this damage is sorted out. It's been almost a year, and they haven't fulfilled the terms of the written guarantee they gave me when they finished the job.

Rhino Shield of New England On 4/9, I reached out to Rhino Shield of New England regarding the paint on my house peeling and cracking

On 4/9, I reached out to Rhino Shield of New England regarding the paint on my house peeling and cracking. I even sent them some pictures to show the issue. They assured me that they would schedule repairs for me. However, on 6/24, I had to contact them again to inquire about the progress. They informed me that they would attend to my house in the fall. It wasn't until 9/27 when I reached out to them once more, asking for a specific date for the repairs. Their response, received via email, shocked me. They stated that due to the wet weather and staffing shortages, they would only be able to get back to me next year. This delay is concerning because it means that by the time they finally address the problem, there will likely be significant peeling and rotting of the wood on my home.

I want to emphasize that I signed a lifetime residential warranty with Rhino Shield on 4/17, and we paid a hefty sum of $20,700.00 for their services. However, upon reviewing the contract, I discovered that any carpentry work required would be my responsibility. This means that if the problems persist, I will have to bear the cost of replacing the rotting wood and any other damages that may occur. Additionally, the contract designates Rhino Shield as the arbitrator in any disputes.

Unfortunately, I must express my disappointment with the product and service provided by Rhino Shield of New England. It simply does not live up to its claims.

Rhino Shield of New England I reached out to Rhino Shield in August

I reached out to Rhino Shield in August . We had a bit of a disagreement about the paint damage on my house and whether it would be covered by the warranty. Finally, Mr. ***, the Service Manager, agreed to fix the chipping paint and cover it under the warranty. He didn't want to come and see the damage in person, though. On September 1, he let me know that their schedule for 2020 was full, so they wouldn't be able to come to my area until Spring 2021. We told Mr. *** that we decided to wait until Spring to put the house on the market, so the paint could be repaired. However, on March 12, he informed me that they wouldn't be able to come until June or July. It seems like Rhino Shield is purposely delaying the repairs, hoping that I'll get tired of waiting and sell the house without getting the repairs done. Then, they can easily refuse to cover it under the warranty. I don't want to keep postponing the sale of the house while I try to get Rhino Shield to fulfill their warranty repairs.

Rhino Shield of New England On March 12, the original property owner gave the go-ahead to Rhino Shield of New England to paint the house

On March 12, the original property owner gave the go-ahead to Rhino Shield of New England to paint the house. The job was finished by May 18, and a final payment of $24,191 was made on September 15, bringing the total cost to $26,891. Rhino Shield, the company in charge, boasted about a lifetime residential warranty back then. Even now, on their website (https://www.gorhinoshield.com/micro/painting/why-choose-us/), they still claim to offer a transferable warranty of 25 years. However, the paint has started peeling, and additional work is needed. Shockingly, the company denies any responsibility for the job. When approached on August 3, they insisted that the warranty had to be transferred to the new owners for them to be held accountable. This excuse is incredibly dishonest, especially considering the hefty sum paid for the work. They keep insisting that "Rhino Shield is guaranteed to never chip, peel, or crack," which is clearly not true. Moreover, they flat out refuse to honor their warranty.

Rhino Shield of New England In May , I met with the folks from Rhinoshield about my house trim

In May , I met with the folks from Rhinoshield about my house trim. The work started in late June. But in June/July , the paint on the faux chimney started peeling. It looked like water was collecting behind it, making the front stoop fascia board bulge. I reached out to the company, but they didn't respond. So, I got drip edging done by someone else to prevent further water damage.

Unfortunately, the peeling continued in different areas of the house trim. In the fall of 2022, I contacted Rhinoshield again through email. They promised to come and assess the situation, but they never showed up. Then on 6/22/22, two unknown guys who didn't speak English arrived in a big white pickup truck with a blue logo on the door panel. I declined their services and called Rhinoshield. They called me back, and we had a three-way conversation. It got really heated.

A person who claimed to be the president of the company, named ***, (I didn't know him) initially refused to give me his last name. He even asked if I wanted his Social Security number! All I wanted was for them to honor the warranty, protect my home from water damage, and have a fair business relationship.

Rhino Shield of New England I attatched 3 images where 2 show clear warrantee issues confirmed by Rhino Shield in Nov 2020

I attatched 3 images where 2 show clear warrantee issues confirmed by Rhino Shield in Nov 2020. The third image shows clapboards I replaced because paint failures not covered by warrantee. The clapboards were ready for paint in July , and I did not push for service from Rhino Shield until carpentry was complete (7). I attatched many pictures to enable Rhino Shield to separately prepare an estimate for non-warrantee work. Rhino Shield suggested a fresh topcoat for the front of the house, and I could see enough fading from the sun exposure that many touch-ups with fresh paint would not match. A topcoat for the front of the house makes sense. Rhino Shield estimated $8,400 for the topcoat to include the fresh clapboards (I accept my responsibility for the replaced clapboards). Rhino Shield apparently does not consider fading to be covered by warrantee. After a full year and several emails without service, I offered to prep and apply the Rhino Shield product at my expense while also giving up the right to future warrantee claims. Other painting companies see the condition of my house, and they have provided unsolicited estimates. My last request was for Rhino Shield to fix the obvious warrantee issues only, and I have not heard back after several weeks. Rhino Shield needs to remedy its inability to honor its warrantees, and I am willing to provide labor and/or hire other paint companies for all work beyond current and obvious warrantee obligations. In exchange for my 'right' to future (lifetime?) warrantee claims, I ask only for helpful guidance so my house paint can be maintained without the high cost, high effort, and major delays of Rhino Shield service.

Rhino Shield of New England We bought our crib in June

We bought our crib in June . The crib has a warranty with Rhino Shield for outside paint (warranty papers attached). We hit up Rhino Shield in August to get the chipping paint fixed under the warranty. We've been trying for a whole year to get Rhino Shield to stick to the warranty and fix the peeling paint. First, they didn't answer. Then they said we had to fix certain parts of the messed-up trim before they would even think about fixing the paint (about 20% of all the trim). So we got all the messed-up trim they pointed out replaced in November . We sent them pictures and papers showing the trim replacement (in the emails we sent). Since then, we've kept contacting Rhino Shield and asking them to fix the peeling paint like they promised in the warranty and their condition that we replace the messed-up trim. In the past 8 months, they've been ignoring our emails, then saying they were already too busy for Spring/Summer, then saying it was too early to schedule, then saying their prices went up, then saying they were all booked up, then saying they weren't ready to schedule or start warranty work, then ignoring us, then saying they'd get in touch soon to send someone over, then never following up, even though we've tried to contact them over and over again. You'll find the email exchanges and warranty papers attached. I'm also attaching a few pictures as examples of trim that's peeling but not otherwise messed up (like, it didn't need to be replaced but it does need to be sanded and painted by Rhino Shield). We've wasted so many hours waiting for Rhino Shield to stick to their warranty for almost a year. If they can't paint the trim this summer, we want to know what other options we have, especially money-wise, since we'll have to find a whole new paint job/company. Thanks for reading this and helping us sort out this mess.

This complaint is about the quality of the work and paint used on our house in *** in August , and Rhinoshield's misconduct in handling our problem. We were initially attracted to Rhinoshield, despite its high cots (over $20K), because of the warranty and purported long-lasting quality. However, after we paid the deposit, we were told that the warranty would only cover two sides of the house because of problems with the wood on the other two sides. However, at the time, they assured us that they would be able to take care of any issues. Only later did we learn that they had misled us about several material facts. Now, less than one year later, the paint has begun to peel extensively. Despite their promise to take care of issues, they told us to fix it ourselves or incur at least another $450 in charges. They also told us, for the first time, that they knew the 2 sides of the house that they refused to warranty would require yearly repainting. They also revealed that they had reservations about continuing the job once they uncovered the problems, but we were never informed of this at the time and only learned about it when we complained a year later once the paint started to peel. This is a classic bait-and-switch. We chose to have Rhinoshield applied to the house because we were told that it would eliminate the need for repainting for many years. We were told that Rhinoshield would last at least as long as all prior jobs, even on the two sides not covered by the “lifetime“ warranty. Had we been told from the outset about their reservations and suspicion of required annual maintenance on half the house, we would have opted to have the house painted conventionally. The company’s response has been dismal. In an egregious display of unprofessionalism, on a call to discuss the issues, Rhinoshield's representative cursed at our family member and hung up on him. She then refused to confirm the warranty or provide a copy. The public should not trust them.
