AGORA Community Services scam

Web sight design warning scam

I did not sign up for the wix.com website. I was sent an email if I was. They try and suck you in by creating a login for you and you get a welcome email. Well I new I did not sign up for wix. I went to the sight to see if someone stole a credit card but no info other than my emai laddress and a login name I never would have created. What a deceiving thing.

Wow, just read through all the complaints. 99% bad reviews and about 1% ok? I have been with them for four years, and am now trying to get in touch with them via phone or their site: wix.com/contact, but with no avail. I don't want to believe what I am reading above, but it does seem that they were very quick to grab my upgrade credit card payment, to "Premium", but very slow to give me any help. My website: paulsfalls.com is down and I have no help getting it back up, and they are the host for my site. The wixs number: [protected] simply gives you a menu in English, then Spanish, then Japanese, then directs you to the wix.com/contact site and hangs up? What do we do? Paul,

I set up a website www.noglamtravel.com on Wix.com about 1 year ago. Apparently I had agreed for the auto-renroll, and in July I was charged $298.00 for renewal. I called the company - or actually emailed them - because under "Contact Support" there is no phone number given, you agree for the company to call you. I spoke with Michael Sam - a WIx Agent - and he said he would submit request for the refund and it should go back into my account in 7-10 business days. He also sent me instructions on how to deactivate my account. I followed the instructions and every time I selected "Are you sure you want to deactivate" I would push "Yes" and then get an error message. I thought maybe I had to wait until the refund was issued before I could do that - it wasn't really clear. I waited and waited - and no refund ever came to my account from Wix. I contacted Wix support today and spoke with Dominique (or actually she called me - upon my request through their website). According to her - Wix has not "approved" refund yet and they have until this coming Thursday to review the request, and if it gets approved, I might get my refund back. And I can't deactivate my account until the refund is issued. I argued that I don't understand how they can approve or disapprove a request for a refund. I have asked that the services be cancelled, they are no longer providing a service, and therefore I am no longer expected to pay for a service I am not receiving. We just went around and around on this issue. I believe they have no intention of issuing a refund.
Above is the statement I issued in a complaint to the Federal Trade Commission.
I suspect I will have to go through my bank to get these charges reversed.

Scam. Zero star.
I was unhappy because links appeared, at some point after my site went live, that led directly to WIX advertisements. So I contacted customer service, which is no easy task. They denied any wrong doing, but I know there was no link to advertise for them on my site when launched. I felt totally scammed and embarrassed that any of my potential clients would only find WIX links when looking for my service.
They are unwilling to budge on the "policy" of no refunds, not even a prorated one, which I thought was a more than fair compromise. Any other company that has a yearly subscription would be willing to prorate with an unhappy customer. WHAT A SCAM/MONEY GRAB. So after the 2 week trial period you need to monitor you website for any WIX takeover but by then its too late for a refund. I feel like I paid them to advertise their business through me, too much for a one person business to bear.
I am absolutely repulsed.

I went with Wix to create a simple 10-page capstone project that was required for my Humanities Across the Arts course. Upon creating my account Wix saw greatness in my online money making potential with their ignorant banner ads like this is still the late 90s, offering an effective online business platform that could help me make me six figures with the purchase of a premium membership.

Let me back up a little bit here. As we were approaching the projects due date, my professor sends an email to the class with an additional requirement: A comments section somewhere on the site that DID NOT request the email of the commenter. He just wanted the 'name' and 'comment' fields, which was simple enough right? Unfortunately, you can't edit or remove fields from the comments page with a free Wix membership. So having already completed the site when my teacher demanded a comments section, I wasn't going to start over with a different host. And believe it or not, I willingly chose to click on one of those banner ads floating at the top of my screen, which was specifically advertising "premium membership, 7 days free, cancel anytime." You know what I'm talking about.

Since I didn't plan on indexing the site in search engines or attempting to directly make money with it in any way, I was not going to pay for it. 7 days was long enough to submit my capstone project and receive a passing grade. So, sure enough, I found myself in the cringe-worthy process of inputting my card credentials just so I could remove the dadgum 'email' field from the comments section. I confirmed my order with a slight smirk on my face, thinking I was about to cheat the system and ace this project quickly and cost-effectively, but Wix had other plans for me. It came in the form of a VIP First Priority full year premium membership for $348 immediately charged to my card and 0 days of free premium access. And it just so happens, no refund is available for that particular subscription. Thanks Wix. I still haven't seen those six figures you were talking about but I did get the stupid email field removed.

WIX IS A TOTAL SCAM! I subscribed their premium plan for years and I wanted to terminate the subscription. But every year Wix.com still automatically charge from my card! Even WORSE, there was no notification every time they charged me, I only know they charged me when I saw my credit card statement! Which is way over their not-so-graceful "Grace refund period". The WORST part is, I requested a refund and this is my second year already, THEY REJECTED EVERYTIME NO MATTER WHAT! They don't even care to provide a reason! I am thinking if I should terminate my credit card as well!

AGORA Community Services theft

This company charged me twice on my order. When I cancelled after a few days of realizing they do not provide you with the deals promised, I was not refunded my all of my money. It has been over two weeks and they continue to say I have been refunded and it takes 7 days to see it. They are lacking even conception of time. This website is obviously run by drugged up college kids hard up for cash.

BE FOREWARNED: WIX IS A TRUE SCAM.

They must be investigated as these crimes will only continue and companies like these need to be made an example of. I should have looked into who started this company, I would have never done business with them, or lack thereof.

AGORA Community Services stolen money from customer

I paid for 1 year premium service from wix.com back in June. I recently changed the style of my website and wanted to cancel the existing site and transfer the rest over to the new website. I found out that I have to pay for the rest. Apparently, you cannot transfer your old site to the new one. They tell you, you can. Truth be Told, THEY WILL ROB YOU! The customer service is HORRIBLE and do not aim to help customers.
DO NOT SIGN UP WITH WIX.COM. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

I built a website for charity last year using wix and decided to upgrade as it was a photo competition and I wanted more storage. The site expired in June 2011 and wix just took the money from my account and renewed it. I have had websites before and they always send reminders and would never just debit a customer's account. I have now cancelled but I cannot get a refund as it is not the "trial period" - this is theft as far as I am concerned. The most frustrating thing is there is no customer contact or service. Unfortunately I am in England and this company is in the US - A report or complaint to trading standards here would have this company shut down. Please stay away from wix upgrades and do not ever hand over you bank details to them. The sad thing is, the stolen money could have gone to my charity. Stay clear from these dishonest people.

AGORA Community Services paid them, no product

I paid Wix $194 for their premium package, based on their assurance that html would be available on their site in a few days. 28 days later, no html as well as other issues (them posting our unfinished web site!), no google, no anything! They have no customer service, don't respond to email, and will not return my money. I noticed there were over 44, 000 hits on their complaint page. I wish I had seen that before I signed up.
Wix is the worst company I have ever dealt with. Everyone burned by Wix should file a complaint with the FTC, it's the only way these jerks will stop.

AGORA Community Services Ignored cancellation requests and kept charging me

The website building company from the pit. I signed up for their premium website building package. I found that their product wasn't going to meet my needs. I tried to contact them to cancel my order but could never get them... you can only contact them by email and they will never get back to you. They were ignoring me and still charging my account. I sent at least 5 emails to cancel but they never responded to me...I finally changed my account numbers and they are still sending me emails telling me that they will continue to try and debit my account...

Beautiful product but lousy customer service. Try the free trial before you commit to their premium service.

I had joined wix on 12/10/2018. Upon joining, I had created a landing page and a first page to start my promotions. My website with Wix was not completed but eager to apply me website with search engines, I had bought the Unlimited plan with a deal that I could not pass up with a free domain for 1 year, connecting the domain, a $300 ads voucher. It was a good deal. Upon buying this monthly plan, i noticed I had not received my domain or the $300 ads voucher. I had contacted Wix.com support team to help me correct the issue and was denied the domain and was told I had to pay for it and was told that the domain come with a yearly plan and not the monthly plan as stated in the screenshot below. A video was sent to me by email showing how to "buy" a domain. I had replied to the email stating the domain was free with the purchased plan. No further attempt by the support team was made to correct the issue. 2 hrs of waiting for the reply, I had to look up their phone number online to give them a call. No one answered the phone and was directed to a voice messaging system and was given the opportunity to leave a call back number and the support team would contact me back, but there was no option to leave a message nor was there a beep to indicate a recording. 3-4 hrs later of no further contact, I had wrote Wix.com to cancel my plan and to put the money back into my account with a full refund. On 12/11/2018 I received an email from another support member stating the domain was free but I had to pay for the connection of the domain and that if I wanted to cancel my plan, I would have to go online and do it, which is not true due to an email suggestion is legal and is foreseen as a legal binding contract. I had inform the support member that the connection of the domain was come with the plan and I had not received my domain. No further attempt to correct this issue was made. On 12/12/2018 another support member had contacted me stating I had to pay for the domain and there was nothing else that they could do for me. I had informed this support member that the domain was free with the plan and showed a screen shot of the plan stating the domain was free, and informed him that I had filed a complaint against wix for fraud, misleading content and false advertising which is against the Lanham act 43(a) and if the issue is not corrected, a lawsuit will be put into motion and all things between wix and I were being recorded and kept for evidence to back my claim along with reports from the BBB and other external website complaint sources. No further attempt was made to correct the issue. On 12/13/2018 I received an email from another support member stating I had to pay for the domain. I had replied to this support member that I had contacted the CEO of WIx to inform him of a 30 day notice to a lawsuit due to the illegal acts against cosumers and had shared with him the evidence along with URL's leading to complaints against Wix and told him the compliants will be presented in court and the federal charges that will be filed are: False advertising, misleading content, fraud, compensation for the build of the website, and court cost will be paid by Wix.com. Wix should not be anymore and I will push the issue to have them shut down, removed, and discontinued.

Case is in process. I have a very bad feeling about it. I paid for the unlimited version during 2/15/2016 to 2/15/2017. Take or add 1-2 days. When I realized how much would they charge for renewing the account, about $150, I immediately requested cancellation before the charge was posted into my bank account (it was already in there hanging open). Oddly enough, the charge was posted almost immediately after I submitted my request. This may have been a coincidence, but it seems at least suspicious. I called customer service, and the lady who attend the request refused to help with the situation over the phone. This sort of charges could only be dealt with their request form at their website (which beforehand gives you heads up that since the payment was already processed your request does not qualify). You could still send the message sending a review. That's why I did. Today February 8. Charge for service was posted today into account, I requested cancellation yesterday when the charge was not already completed. Today, instead of stopping the charge I had to request a refund. Customer service on the phone was not helpful at all.

Note that the service for which I am been charged has not begun already. The unlimited service I paid for [protected] is still running for a few more days (ca. February 15) .

I will have to wait for they to reply back and see if they will refund me the ca. $150 dollars for the unlimited version, which I do not want for [protected]. My fear is that they will wait too long so that the service roll over and then there is an excuse not to grant the refund. I'll give an update on how the situation resolves. It does not look very good right now.

I logged on to their free website design years ago, I may have paid for something since they have my credit card, but the website I made is not even published and I see that they have been charging me $150 every year for at least the last three years for something I don't use. My credit card expired last year and somehow they were still able to get the charge through...are they making up expiration dates? Seems like a dishonest practice. Always thought the expiration date was for consumer security. When I call them they say, press a number and we will call you back at the the number you are call in from at a certain time, but they never called. - so frustrated

I too am being charged for something I have not even published through wix.com I have sent them emails during the past year to cancel my subscription but yet they charged my account with $194 . When I confronted them on this, on their billing site they said it would be canceled 12/16. So apparently they are not going to refund my money. I have recently become a widow and cannot afford something I am not using.

They have been charging me the monthly fee for 5 months after I ended my premium with them. They've charged me $25 for a product I'm not even using, which I cancelled and have emailed them to reinforce this. They are still charging me too this day. I removed my account details from my package, They still charge me. On manage premium it says N/A for next invoice date and it says my premium package is cancelled and yet a new invoice appears every month.

I have had the same problem. They told me they were closing down my website for non-payment and that my credit card is not working and to give them a new one. I emailed to them that my credit card is fine and to have customer service call me since there is no phone number. They sent me back a message saying I did not reply in 24 hours.
Meanwhile, I would like to sue them - but some one needs to collect a list of all of us to do a class action lawsuit against this company.

If you would like I could take charge of it - you can email me your information at houseofrhona@sbcglobal.net
Or if someone else would like to lead this. please email me at this email and I will give you my information.

Wix has attached my PayPal account to a completely separate Wix account. They have been charging me since May 2022, we are now in January 2024.

When questioned how this happened they don’t have a response. They refused to refund my money nor are they able to explain why or how this happened. The person whose account it was attached to does NOT have my PayPal account information so they were NEVER able to complete a second authentication with PayPal. WIX is a SCAM!

BEWARE of this company! Once they have your card details, it almost seems impossible to stop them taking your money for a stupid website that is no longer even up and running. I even cancelled my debit card when my bank told me they'd taken money on the card rather than direct debit, got a new debit card with new numbers and they have STILL taken my money yet again. How the hell can they do that? My bank now says they can't stop them even though banking regulations 2009, says they have a duty of care to stop repeat transactions! I've tried in vain on their website to cancel it, there are no numbers to call, my only choice now is to change banks altogether! What a load of stress, I don't understand how they can get away with this in 2019. From one seriously unhappy customer venting frusration :-(
