Vivint Home Security System reviews and complaints
I would like to have the system fixed properly
I have had problems with Vivint Home Security System since the day it was installed (May 24th 2022). At first the front door security lock wouldn't lock. Next the system would frequently indicate that it was offline but our WIFI would be working fine. Then the living room camera would stop working and this was very upsetting to our children because they...

In February of 2022 I signed a contract with Vivint. One month later I paid off the loan for the equipment and decided to see if the service was worth the monthly payment of $34.07. We kept it for 2 months and decided it offered nothing extra that my family couldn't do for ourselves. In April of 2022 I called to cancel the service, but Vivint wanted a technician to come to my home and explain all the features I would be losing. Turns out the technician agreed I had only a basic set up and would not be losing much if I cancelled. I called Vivint and asked to cancel, I was told my service was stopped on April 10, 2022. On 26 May I was charged another $34.07, again I called to ask why am I being charged since I already cancelled the service. I was told that I have to fill out a form of cancellation and the cancellation request taken by the representative the prior month is not the SOP for the process. After filling out the request I was informed that I would be charged another month of service since it takes 30 days to process the request of cancellation. This is not my problem that their representatives do not know the SOP for the company they are working for and it seems to be trap to stay locked into the contract.

Desired outcome: I would like a refund for the 2 months I was told the service was cancelled.
Refund of system costs and money charged to my credit card.
I bought a home with a vinit security system already installed. In the past few days, I have tried to have the alarm system activated. I made an appointment for 3/3/2022 and Vinit's installers were to arrived between 4 and 8 pm. They did arrive early. There were two muscular men that arrived that easily intimiated me. They first asked for my code, I did have one code but not the master codes. I reluctantly surrendered the code. One of tech typed the information into the control panel of the security system and into his tablet, while the other roamed the house observed all of its belongings. This made me feel very uncomfortable and the he brought me his tablet and coerced me to sign a contract and consent to digital signatures. I requested a copy of the contract, I had called the company earlier and was told there was no contract required because I owned the equipment. The seasoned tech also told me that I would have to submit to a video interview to see if I was mentally compent. I refused to have my personal information stored in their database. I spoke with several reps from Vinit and was not able to get a copy until I spoke with Ethan. He provided copies and told me we could activate the system over the phone. I did sign the contract with the understanding that the system would be activated at 7:30p. I called after the tech failed to call to set up the installation. I was told that the system was not going to be activated according to Ethan's instructions. I now no longer have access to the system. The system controls the front door lock and is able to listen to all conversations in my home. Vinit has has total control of the cameras, passwords, codes, and the front door lock. I do not feel comfortable with a security system that costs $50 to be used for spying on the customer.

What was the outcome? I wish I read reviews on them before signing up for their service!
