Summit Legal Group Will not return escrow money

We had a realtor, Anther Strnad, who had our condo up for short sale. We met with Anthea and signed a contract for sale of the property. The buyer on the contract was Take 2 Enterprises. The mortgage co. was asking $20000.00. The buyer did not want to pay that much. Anther stated if we would give her a cashiers check for $3500.00 made out to William O'Toole to be put in a escrow account to be used as part of purchase price. The buyer Randy Baker with Take 2 Enterprises back out of buying. HOW CAN WE GET OUR MONEY BACK FROM THE ESCROW ACCOUNT. We understand that William O'Toole and Randy Baker are under investigation by your office. We spoke with Baker one time, he then had his phone # disconnected. We cannot find O'Toole and Anthea Strnad will not help us at all.

Please reply to Gene & Brenda Towery @ [protected]@att.net

This law firm took my money, has not done a single thing in six months and to even get a return phone call I have to be threatening. When I talked to them about all the complaints on here, they say it's because of another firm that had dealings with the people complaining. Well let me tell you, it is not another firm, it is Summit Legal Group, specifically Randy Baker and Solomon Micari. They will not even give me the name of the person they are dealing with at my mortgage company and my mortgage company says they have not heard from anyone about a modification. Very sly and slick this firm is. Be very aware of them and do not give any money because you will not see it or your modification.

To Protecting Strnad honor and ethics.

Your posting was very poorly worded, and I
am not sure whether or not this whole string of posts is on the up and up. When did this transaction occur?

The comment above that Anthea Strnad would not help at all is untrue
She spoke with several realtor board attorneys that she did nothing illegal
And that the sellers had to consult their own attorney
This was relayed to the Towerys by her
Also she contatcted Randy Baker several times and he said no contact was made
With O toole since he left his office and his phones are off
He assumed he was ill and may habe passed away possibly
After she urged him to help get the Towerys escrow money back he drove
To hollwood to otooles address on file and called to say the house looked abandoned
Baker. To call the Towerys. Which he did
Randy Baker explained otoole has been in good standing for the pas 27 years
And there was no reason to think he would mishandle escrow
He believes it is still in the account
Randy Bakers phone is also not disconnected.

When will this all end? Gene and Brenda, thanks for complaining here, but you should really get in touch with Terry Crossen at [protected] ext.123. He knows all about these guys and works with the Florida Attorney General's office.

Let's cut to the chase. These guys were put out of business some time ago, October 15, 2011 to be precise. When did you have contact with them? If it was after this date, contact the Florida AG's Office - Terry Crossen at [protected] ext. 123 immediately. He has been seeking restitution, but if it turns out that Baker and Macari are still at it, there could be more serious repercusions. The only lawyer at the firm, William O'Toole was suspended on July 25, 2011 and disbarment is pending.

Summit Legal Group Loan modification scam

I hired this firm in 2011 to perform a mortgage loan modification. I paid $2074.84 up front, made many calls to get updates on my modification. Was always told they were working on it and it should be final soon. After 6 months, i checked with my lender and was told they had not spoken to or received anything from Summit. It was all a bunch of lies. I demanded a refund. of course, i never got one.

I had "worked" with them for almost 1 year and in that time they would never contact me but I needed to call them every week for an update that never changed, now half of the numbers are disconnected and not longer work and "Saloman" is from what i hear not in the country right now. I am waiting on a response from the one number that works but every time I talk with someone they never call me back. Has anyone done any leg work to take legal action against them?

Unfortunately, they have now moved on to "fixing" bad credit for people. You pay upfront (sound familiar) and they will fix your credit report. The Irony!
If you have bad credit, Randy will also help you buy a new car. You pay an amount upfront and he'll take care of all the paperwork. You just have to show up at the Dealership and pick up your new car. You guessed it...The Dealership has no clue about any purchase of a car.

You will be happy to know that in a few months he will no longer be able to do any scams...I have it on good authority that he has stage 4 Colon Cancer and has been given only a few months to live. Guess it's finally "Judgement Day"...

To jipoler: I am surprised to see new comments about this operation.

At this juncture, it is imperative that you deal with your lender directly. If you are having problems, you can get help at 888-995-HOPE. This hotline is manned by real lawyers who understand the Loan Modification process and can help you.

Let me bring you up to date about Summit Legal, and give you some advice. Summit Legal Group WAS a scam. They are no longer in business. The number of victims is anyone's guess. The following actions have been taken against the various parties at Summit Legal which was essentially a group of non-lawyers. On April 7, 2011, the Florida Attorney General's Economic Crimes Division initiated an action against Baker, Kennedy, and Associates. By that time, all of the non-lawyers at Baker, Kennedy were part of Summit Legal along with the only lawyer at the firm, William O'Toole. The Florida Bar issued an emergency suspension of Mr. O'Toole on July 25, 2011, after taking a desposition on June 27, 2011. Disbarment is pending. If you wish to complain to the Florida Bar, call Sheila Tuma at [protected]. The AG's office issued a cease and desist order against a number of enterprises, including Summit Legal and Take2 Processing on October 15, putting Summit's people, including Randy Baker, Solomon Macari, Aren Anderton, and Elizabeth Baker out of this line of work. The AG's office, specifically Terry Crossen, has sought restitution, but tracking down the money is very difficult. Terry can be contacted at [protected] ext. 123. The BBB issued a warning and changed their rating to F some time ago.

There were stories on the on WSVN-TV in Miami/Ft. Lauderdale, and stories in the Palm Beach Post, Sun-Sentinel, and Daily Business Review.

If you want to be contacted, please leave an email address, or send an email to adc0317@comcast.net. The victims have been speaking with each other for quite some time now.

Summit Legal Group I received no return call or email after my countless inquiries

I've been working with Summit Legal Group and paid them to assist with my home modification loan. I've been working with them for over 6 months. I've been giving the run around and no one has been follow-up with my case.

The processor with Summit Legal Group doesn't return my phone calls or emails. I've been told that my modification was approved, however, when I email and called requesting documentation for the terms of the modification, I received no return call or email after my countless inquiries.

It has been a while since i saw complaints about this scam and I thought things were put to rest. Tonight, after a very enjoyable day, I have noticed a couple of complaints. I will try to be brief. Summit WAS a scam, only one lawyer worked there, and the Florida Attorney General's Economic Crimes Division issued a Cease and Desist Order against all parties including William O'Toole, Randy Baker, Solomon Macari, Aren Anderton, and Elizabeth Baker on October 15, 2011. O'Toole, the only lawyer, received a suspension from the Florida Bar on July 25, 2011.

Contact your lender directly and try to work with them. If you have problems, call 888-995-HOPE. This is a legitimate group of lawyers.

To complain to Florida authorities, call the following:

Florida Bar - Sheila Tuma - [protected]
Florida AG's Office - Terry Crossen -[protected] ext. 123.

If you wish to be kept in the loop with and network with other victims, leave your email address or send an email to adc0317@comcast.net.
