Pell TechnologyPoor service and communication

I requested a quote for a repair. Received reply within days indicating to send laptop. If system board repair was successful, $150.00 plus shipping would be cost. If not repairable, return shipping is only cost. Several weeks later, receive a notice of repair and bill for $185.00, which included return shipping. Paid same day of receipt of bill through Google. Processed two days later by Pell. Billing repair indicated laptop to ship two business days following payment. I waited for about 10 days before attempting to contact Pell. Their toll-free number is always busy. Called direct line in Tampa, FL, and waited 17 minutes before speaking with a live person. After explaining my issue and providing service repair number, waited again for about 3 minutes before person returned indicating that he would have to go down to shipping to obtain a shipping number and asked if I could HOLD. I told him I had been holding for over 20 minutes and asked for a return call within 30 minutes. Frank, from Pell, verified my telephone number before indicating he would call me back within the 30 minute window as requested. Never heard from Frank. I have emailed every day since then with no reply from company. I have used their support email address (a simply reply to their repair estimate, so the address has to be correct) and their info address with no response from Pell. They have my laptop AND my $185.00 and I have nothing. Out almost two months without laptop, out over $200 which includes purchase of laptop shipping box and shipping fees to Pell from AZ. Terrible service, communication and follow through to complete customer satisfaction. Will ensure no one uses this company in the future. Will investigate criminal or civil action through the court system if possible.

I know this happened 2 years ago, but I'll go ahead and say we have has some issue keeping up with volume of phone calls in our office, and we've also had issue with certain CSR's. Nevertheless both these issues were not handled properly, but we repair thousands of laptops, so we definitely are not in the business of ripping people off. We've been around for almost 8 years, and we're still servicing a large number of laptops. We do our best to take care of each customer properly, and we apologize if you were not happy. If these issue's were not handled, which I think they were, please contact us and we'll make sure we take care of the situation.

I had the exact same experience with Pell Technology. I finally sent a message to them stating I was going to have them investigated for a Federal mail fraud claim (service promised, paid for, not delivered) and also I would contact the local police authorities to investigate them for theft. A 5-10 day repair turned into 2 1/2 months and me without my laptop, which is my primary business/work tool.

The laptop was sent back to me that evening. I don't know if they did the repair but they sent it back in the same box I sent them, which was just a kid's toy box stuffed full of soft packing materials. We'll see if they even did the repair when I get back to the place where the laptop was sent.

Avoid Pell Technology at all costs. You will be happy you did.

    Pell TechnologyComputer repair

I sent in my laptop to be repaired in excellent physical condition in my own box specially made for laptops with inside foam to cradle the laptop during the shipment. The computer would not turn on and I soon had an estimate for $220 dollars to fix the DC jack and the Motherboard-I paid the $220 dollars and got the laptop fixed and sent back out to me. When I opened the box I immediately noticed the apparent physical damage to the DC Jack area. I sent an e-mail ASAP with the complaint and called the very next day. After 12 minutes I finally got hold of the Manager named Herman who said he read my complaint in the e-mail and then stated his position in the matter, their protocol in this type of situation is to notify the client if they spot any damage on the laptop and call the client and verbally get an admission of the damage and permission if the client should want them to proceed. According to them I signed off on everything, I immediately asked who called me and Herman said it was Miguel who works in shipping. I said Miguel is a liar and I have phone records showing he never called me. I then asked for the owner and he passed me off to his supervisor named Giselle who would not get me the owner and told me it was her job to handle such situations and she would call me back. When she called back she said she relayed the complaint to the owner named David and their solution was for me to send back the laptop and they would reverse the repairs and give me my $220 dollars back. I sent pictures of the totally intact box with no dent in it whatsoever, I sent pictures of the damaged computer and she was informed of the phone records I do have showing I never recieved 1 phone call from that company. I also pointed out our correspondance via e-mail back and forth with no mention of any damage on my computer, only of the repairs. Isn't that odd-Obviously their guy in shipping or whoever messed up my computer and totally fabricated a bogus story of him calling me and me acknowledging it being damaged and giving him the O.K. to proceed. I let her know I would be following every avenue possible to get them to rectify the matter the way a legitimate business should. I have yet to receive a call from the owner David.

I apologize for any problem you had with our shipping department, each laptop is looked over and it's confirmed if they have any physical damage on the way in, the only thing that could of happened was damage on the shipment in, if you never had the damage. I know its years later, and maybe this has been resolved already, but we can still offer to repair or offer you money back on what you paid us if you can contact us. In reference to our customer support team, we have since improved and made changes to provide a better customer experience. We repair thousands of computers, and we admit we do make mistakes.
