Nite Owl Appliance Repair they take your money and do not repair anything

Began - July 13, 2017
I only used Nite Owl because Thermador uses them as their approved repair provider, and Thermador did not have an opening for 10 days.
Made an appointment with Tracy the receptionist/Owner.
Nite Owl tech Dave (owner/husband) showed up on scheduled date - assessed the problem and told me they would order all the parts they could possibly need so they would only have to come back one time, and I would be refunded for any parts not used for the repair.
Tracy told me I had to pay for ALL the parts $790.00 up front. I had to send a check, for $790.00 or be charged 6% additional to use a credit card. I waited over 2.5 weeks for the parts to come in and an appointment to be scheduled for Aug 28, 2017, over a month from the first appointment.
Tracy called on Aug 25th to cancel because the tech Dave(One of the owners) had to have hand surgery. She did not know when he would be back and able to schedule appointments.
I called Thermador to see if they could come out and repair the freezer. Scheduled and appt for Aug 28th, 2017.
Called Tracy back to ask about the parts, she said if Thermador was doing the repair I could come and get the parts and Nite Owl would refund any parts not opened. I sent one of our employees to pick up the parts.
Thermador used one part for 45.00
I called Tracy to set up the return and she told me she would not refund any parts because she wrote on the receipt NO Refunds, and because I cancelled the appointment. She said she didn't cancel the appointment, she just rescheduled it open ended with no definitive date. She also "schooled" me on having "back up" appliances for any unit I deemed necessary. Well I think they are all kind of necessary, so I guess I should have 2 fridges, 2 stoves, etc.
I did not see the "no refunds" written on the receipt until she told me it was on there. If I was the one picking up the parts and she told me that, I would never have accepted them. I would have asked for a refund right there.

I called Thermador and they intervened, called Nite Owl, and got them to agree to accept the parts back if I removed negative reviews from online.
Called Nite Owl to set up return - left a message, no one returned my calls.
Sept. 13, 2017 Called Nite Owl again and told them I was coming there to return the parts, when I got there, Tracy started the conversation by telling me she would not take back the parts because the reviews were still showing up online. She escalated the situation by calling me names, swearing and ordering me out of her shop. I said I wouldn't leave until she took the parts back. She came charging at me and I used the box of parts to block her as she continued to yell in my face. She called the police and her husband Dave, who arrived after the police were there, and began swearing and calling me names.

I would like a refund of the parts we didn't need, and weren't used, were never opened, and over paid for.

I have to remove all negative reviews before she will refund me $500 of the 790.00 i prepaid for unused parts and the $299.00 for unused labor. Something is better than nothing...

Nite Owl Appliance Repair Bad service

The BBB rarely issues a rating of 'F.' But that's the rating it gives for this sorry imitation of a service company. Just go to the Chgo BBB website to verify:

You never want to have any contact with this bottom-of-the-barrel outfit.

They routinely lie to you and do it in an obnoxious, arrogant, rude manner. They'll lie about availabiloity of parts. On the inital visit, they promise to return with parts to make the repair in a few days. They then reschedule appointments several times over a period of weeks. When they eventually do show up, chances are they will make the existing probelm worse by using guesswork by inadequately trained personnel.

They routinely deny any fault on their part, telling customers their applicance is a lemon.

If arrogance & rudeness were crimes, the foul-mouthed husband & wife owners of this sleezy operation would have been arrested & put in jail a long time ago.

They did not earn their 'F' rating by the Better Business Bureau without really trying!

To counteract authentic negative reviews, these people routinely write & post their own, phony positive reviews; they're so clever, they can't even disguise their identity too well.

TO take your 99.00 stop at your house charge to look at your broken appliance. Make a quess without ever fixing the appliances. And never bother to ever bother to return or call back. Had to call Sears .

THEY LIE about parts, appointments, rude and arrogant..I hope that Home Depot under extended warranty will not do any business with them in a future.'F' RATING 'night owl'.I think positive reviews are false.

Dear Misty H. My complaint Is against Nite Owl Appliance. They took 99.00 from me without fixing the washer at all. I had to call Sears to tell me what was wrong with the washer. AND he did. Nite Owl just cleaned out a hose. Sears had equipment to test the machine. The part was somewhat expensive to replace and we decided to get a new washer. AND IT WAS A NEW KENMORE WASHER. Next time I need any service to any of my appliances(They are all Sears products) I will ONLY call SEARS. Thank you for Caring Sears and MISTY H. GrandmaG

BEWARE OF NITE OWL APPLIANCE! This small time outfit uses their small time staff to create their own 5 star ratings over and over under different names. Their image is so very tarnished, as they are trying so hard to belittle the true customer complaints. The ones that love them or use them, as they do their own posting, is they themselves. They will take your money without fixing your appliance. They will be rude. They will not return your calls until opening time or when Tracy is good and ready. They operate from 9:30am to 3:30pm . In my case a new appointment was schelduled, after appliance was never fixed, they never bothered to show up or call. The husband and wife team uses foul language. You and I can count on another posting to counteract my posting because of the nature of these two ignorant creatures and their small staff. As an EX customer I am warning others.

i used nite owl and i love them i call them anytime somthing breaks i cant beleive those two nasty people slanding nite owl they have been in appl repair for over 25 yrs there family business has ben around for over 75 yrs keep up the good work thank you nite owl

Nite Owl Appliance took my Grandma's money by not fixing her washer. Nite Owl made an appointment with her to come back out. Nite Owl did not come or call her. Grandma called SEARS [protected]. Sears fixed her washer and they were nice to her. Grandma says Nit Owl gets a ZERO RATING. My Grandma is very disappointed with such awful language being used on the internet that you should be ashamed of yourselves. I JENNA, am still in grade school and you should have more respect for Grandma's and children. My Dad and Mom are good parents and I LOVE GRANDMA.
