New Jersey Ez Pass reviews and complaints

My wife and I drove through New Jersey to pick up our kids from college for summer vacation. We took the turnpike and got off at Exit 18E. This was on April 28, 2022. On June 13, 2022, I received a "Final Notice of Enforcement Action" which said I owed $6.65 for the toll, and $50 for "Administrative Fee". There was no explanation of what this administrative fee was for. This was the first and only notice I received. In trying to pay my toll and get clarification of this unfounded fee, I was unable to obtain any direct contact with anyone either on the phone or through the website. I succumbed and paid the full amount of $56.65 for fear of further unjustified penalties. However, someone needs to address the extortion being unjustly enforced against citizens who use the New Jersey highways.

On 7/11 I headed down to Atlantic City I used an E Z pass tag with the account # [protected]. My statement reflects 4 tolls but I was issued 3 violations for not paying 1.50...50 cents...4.75 but with each violation came a 50 dollar administrative fee. If the toll was not picked up then I am responsible BUT the administrative fee is unfair and discriminatory against taxpayers and drivers. If there is an administrative fee it should be reasonable and not excessive!

I received a violation letter in the mail today accusing me of not paying a fee on the Atlantic City Expressway. After checking my ez pass account I show that it was recorded and paid for. I went on the NJ website to dispute this but the dispute form only asks for basic information and there is no section to explain their mistake. I will be attempting to call on Monday morning as it arrived too late to call today. I will probably send a copy of my statement to them too. What I won't be doing is paying any administration fees or double paying the charge for the toll plaza. E3d94
