Legal Aid Alberta reviews and complaints

Legal Aid staff are rude and wicked. They keep you on hold for 6-8 hours and when your turn comes they click the phone to put you on hold for another 3-4 hours. They treat you like garbage. They don't have lawyers for public guardian and Trustee matters but say they do. This is a false misleading statement. They say that the lawyer charged for some item which the lawyer did not. Guessing they took that money. They take most of the money. Lawyers and clients are both exploited and abused by this money hungry 'charity'. Corrupt all the way. Self-representing is better than calling them.

Legal Aid Alberta advertised something else but offered something else. They advertise about counsel of choice but they keep Albertans on hold and don't care. They advertise that the lawyers charge for meetings, conferences but lawyers say that they work for free mostly and pay client disbursements and faxes, photocopies, travel, and for documents from their own funds. Legal Aid Alberta is playing politics with the low income Albertans and most of the time it would be best to self-respresent because of the chaos and politics.
