Usually I don't do these kind of things, since it takes a lot for me to complain. But, this one caught my attention.
We are located in Hawaii, and we understand certain regulations of how the island works with animals. It took us a good while to find a company who would deliver to Hawaii from such a far distance. So we found Florida Herps. Some of the policies were off, like not guaranteeing a delivery to Hawaii. It was understandable. We went ahead and tried to order some Red Eye Tree Frogs. The next day, we got an email saying it wasn't possible without certain health certificates and such and it would cost us $500 MINIMUM in just paperwork to get it passed how Hawaii works, and then another hundred or two, for the actual frogs.
So we emailed back and asked them if they happen to know a different company who could offer the same service, but possibly cheaper.
The response we got back, was beyond disrespectful.
"You're asking US if we want to help you find someone who will bring in frogs ILLEGALLY to Hawaii? They are frogs and we are not going to try and help you break laws to have them"
No, where did we state that? We wanted to compare rates if someone offered it cheaper. It is none of their concern with why we want to find someone else. Being a reptile store/company, we figured you would know companies who could be more flexible. I was appalled and disgusted by whoever was on the other side.
We have yet not received our refund, and we are EXPECTING a FULL refund like they had told us. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. Being a company, I figured they would have more respect with talking to their customers in that way. A simple "no we do not know other reptile stores that could help you" or a simple "yes HERES their number" was all we expected.
Getting sh-t from a joke like this company, was uncalled for, we know how it works here in Hawaii. We have found another flexible company that can help us out.

Unhealthy Animals
Purchased a Tarantula assuming they could be trusted to ship a healthy specimen but had a leg missing, skinny and not eating and ordered a jumbo size and received a small. I spoke with a girl named Kristen who immediately took an attitude and refused to do anything about it much less try to make things better. AVOID THIS COMPANY!

Bad and racist customer service
I was buying this turtle for a little friend who lives in USA. First I placed my order and after 1 day they sent me an email saying my order was cancelled because a problem with the address and they said I didn't fill a form. So after 1 days I decided to order again from my mobile. I was expecting to see the form during the order process but I didn't happen. Once again I didn't know where the form was. I checked the first email they sent to me and this girl from costumer service, called Kristen said the form was on the bottom of the page. I looked and I couldn't find. I sent her a second email saying I didn't find the form. She got all this attitude saying read the email I sent to you before and some words were in CAPS. My reaction was to say in CAPS; YOU'RE RUDE! After that I found the form. It was hiding inside a little tab. I filled with my info and sent to her. She said my order was cancelled. I got sooo mad. She said I don't get to be a costumer if I called her Rude. After that she said "Canadians Wow". I sent an email to the owner of this company saying what happened and he basically said she was totally right and if I didn't find the form she doesn't need to help me again. She already told me where to find it and I should help myself after that. When I mentioned the racist comment he used the excuse of me calling her rude. And he told me I could leave a bad feedback for them cause they are the #1 company in USA and a Canadian [censored] would never change that. So here I am. Ps:I didn't get the refund for the second transaction.

iguana
I have recieved an iguana from florida herps. Will not eat on her own. I have had her for about a month now. She is being syringe fed everyday. Her tail has now been amputated due to a neucrotic area on the underside of tail, and on antibiotic shots.
I have contacted them, I have been called a liar, ###ter, a little girl, teenager. They refused to help me in anyway. Fortunatly she is alive and under guarded condition with my vet. They are very rude and snotty people. They said Dr. Bill wont even bother contacting my vet. HORRIBLE experience.

Terrible Customer Service
Absolutely terrible customer service. This "Lonna" person met my complaint with anger and disdain. They sent me the wrong animals and basically said "we can give you a credit towards your next purchase." I was yelled at and talked down to throughout the process. A horrible experience that I wouldn't wish on anyone. The company had great selection and the prices aren't bad, but this woman ruins the entire experience. And if a mistake is made, the burden is on YOU, not them.

My name is Hannah and florida herps sent me a malnourished iguana that had a foot abscess. The poor lizard died a few days later and florida herps does not return my phone calls either. Avoid them!
Cornsnakeguy is yet ANOTHER liar. He already posted on Fauna where he admitted he never had anything shipped. He told FH he was a local customer and picked up newts/frogs. His order was wrong or missing something. He was given a credit, free frog, and had his PayPAl account credited back - he admits all this himself. His issue with "Lonna" is she refused to pay for his gas money. I mean are you kidding me? Crackhead...
I completely agree. The woman should Not have a job in customer service. The fake reviews I see online now after a thourough search (people with no history raving ok but named people in multiple forums posting rave reviews that contridict each other or using a customers name and lying in fake reviews without permission ? Cmon now really? and a huge amount of complaints I see now (16 yrs in the biz but only a handful of those yrs open to the public) The smart people will avoid this company.

Horrible company that steals from customers and drop-ships ALL there reptiles. They want you to believe they have animals, but they DON'T!

This company is a disgrace. After a dozen phone calls, text message, voicemail and email, I got a response TEXT message 24 hours later. In this message I found out they would not be able to deliver by Christmas, even though I paid for overnight shipping (ordered on the 23rd). The owner stated that it was very clear on their website, which reads. "order CAN be delayed." This does not say they WILL, its a possibility. This is why I was so persistent with trying to get a hold of them. The person started to take personal shots at my via text messaging and then used profanity. I strongly recommend NOT using this company!
FLORIDA HERPS is A HORRIBLE COMPANY, the complaints posted can not be fabricated because I have had the same experience with an Asian water monitor. I ordered and had to call them about 6 times and almost two months later they contact me and finally send me my monitor. I received it and A couple if days later, less than 10 days, he died. Also sent them pics when contacted them, also was asked to send them more pics with our monitor belly up on the tracking label. Was told they were sending my case to customer service to start my refund process. I replied I would like A replacement instead. Then A get another email stating they weren't sure of A refund because we housed it in A fish tank, I replied it was not housed in A fish tank but in A 7 foot glass sided wood bottom and wood top with two built in heat zones. I get another email stating they only warranty live arrival for reptiles. I sent them back A pic shot of there misleading warranty if that was the case and I got called all kinds of names and numerous insulting emails, I was also threatened after I stated to them I was unhappy and was going to post my experience with their company as A review and would send them the link, I got back another threat stating they were going to post my info, name address and IP address for all to see. Even got threatened to send law enforcement to our home as well as fish and game. I have all there threatening emails. I had to ask them to stop harassing me via email, still getting back rude responses and name calling. RUDE UNPROFESSIONAL COMPANY! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!
Lonna is a ### and thinks she is the queen of the reptile world. Get a clue you and your dumb ### so called dr can go to hell. Easily offended and pissed off over nothing, not worth the time or effort to order from. Many other places provide better service than floridaherps.com and better quality products.
I just received a beautiful specimen, a Burgundy Goliath Bird Eater Tarantula from Florida Herpitology yesterday. The T was in great health, the shipment arrived when it was supposed to and the transaction was flawless. Real company, Real critters.
Florida herps is the biggest peice of ### company. they declined my order because i left hem an ok review since i had been calling for days and not able to reach anyone.by phone txt.or.emails. I made the order even though it said decline they still took the money and didnt ship anything. thenn that dumb nasty [censored] lonna txt me sayon.bc.of.the review they didnt want me as a customer. well they sire liked my money. then she proceeded to cus me out. calling me a [censored] a lying 13 yr old botch. which im a grown ### women . She just kept sending morw and morw vilgar txts. they also write their own reviews on their website unless a cistomer leaves a 5 star reveiw. also if tou have a problem with them they will make it your fault and even wrote a reiview from i with you name address and.billing info. f*** you lonna. and florida herps f***ing ugly bisted up monkey as lookin trick
they are bad I've recently have had a really bad experience with them.
Florida Herps... very unstable unprofessional people. Don't deal with them. They have been harassing me non-stop since they cancelled my order. Don't walk away... RUN!
Good companies like Florida Herp go ot of their way to do things right, its the consumers responsibilty to hold that up on the receiving end. The person receiving the animals is just as responsible for making sure they arrive safely as the people shipping them.
Backwater Reptiles is a known dropshipper, theyd ont have any animals in stock and have them shipped from some other company so they have zero control over how they are shipped. Florida Herp on the other hand has everything in their hands from the moment you place your order to the moment it is dropped of at the shipper, after that its up to the shipper, and then the consumer.
If you are buying reptiles and amphibians online, be a good consumer. And when things go wrong and you dont get a refund because you were to lazy or dumb to read or follow the companies terms, dont smear a good company online because you are a flake.

Ive gotten dead frogs from good companies, generally larger hardy frogs like Pacman and African Bullfrogs will come garanteed. I was there to sign for the package and had the camera ready when I opened the box. The Doa was photographed immediately and I contacted them right away. My animal was replaced or I was issued credit on my next order (they paid shipping).
If you arent there to sign, dont take a photo right away and dont contact them within the hour, and you get a dead animal, then you are SOL (S*@# out of luck) and rightly so.
Most of the complaints about DOA's that I read about from GOOD companies generally run along the lines of the consumer being stupid, not being there to sign, not taking photos, in short, not holding up to their end of the agreement with the companies terms. Then they go online and complain.

"Just a Person" is Florida Herps, but that goes without saying. How stupid are they? AVOID FLORIDA HERPS! HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE!
