Reddit review: I think both the website philosophy and the moderators are cruel.
I comment on a post in r/cathelp, where the original poster found a pregnant cat and did not know what to do.
I speak of compassion -- as other commenters seemed almost rabid in their advice to spay and abort the litter.
I speak of compassion for the kittens.
I speak of the seriousness of the surgery, and the high probability of complications for the mother cat, all from reliable internet references.
I speak of the high financial cost of the procedure.
I give a face and a voice to the voiceless kittens.
I posted a photo of a kitten with the caption, "LOVE ME. I WANT TO SEE THE SUNSHINE. I WANT TO PURR AND LOVE YOU."
I am banned from the subreddit for expressing compassion.
I find there is no way to appeal such a ban.
I think the first amendment should apply to private corporations as well as to public ones.
I know the moderators broke their own rule of "Be Nice."
Recommendation: I recommend avoiding r/cathelp entirely, and if you do need help, really examine if there is intelligence of the advice you receive.
