I reached a settlement agreement to pay off a credit card. made a payment of $1000 and have a written agreement to pay a final $1000 by the 18th of August. In their written correspondence they give instruction on how to pay at paymentportal. radiusgs.com and a pin number to use. When I go to the site, I am never asked for a pin number, the balance of my settlement is not reflected, and when I call customer service I get someone telling me, "Oh it doesn't matter what the site says you can just pay the money through me." I shouldn't have to do that if have a settlement with them, but when I ask about that I get the response, "Well you didn't make the agreement with the website did you?"
Recommendation: Definitely do your best not to deal with this company, but if you have to then make sure you get everything in writing ahead of time and make them adhere to the letter of the law and not this casual treatment of debt settlement that makes them look so suspicious.
