This insurance is a scam. Do not pay for it because you will not get a refund. I took this insurance out on tickets to a concert in a valley-based city that is approximately an hour from where I live on a mountain. Hazardous winter weather hit our area a couple days prior to the concert, resulting in roads down the mountain I live on being closed. I sent them numerous reports of the hazardous road conditions and the closures. They basically replied in the denial letter that the only way to get a refund was to attempt to drive through the road closures and into the hazardous conditions. If I had a wreck doing so and submitted a report from the authorities assisting, a refund would be considered. Yelp, you read that right! Even the venue hosting the event stated that I should be refunded.

It was a simple process. They were responsive. I was able to get my money back quickly. I will use them again.

Total rip off! we purchased FanShield insurance on a cabana rental at a water park. The park did not open due to inclement weather and fan shield will not reimburse us for the cabana rental! So upset!

What a joke! I am stage 4 cancer patient and had to under go treatment the Monday after the Daytona 500 and could not attend the race. They said it did not qualify for refund! WOW! I wish I knew how to contact Nascar about this joke of a company.

Purchased this insurance for Gaylord Opryland events and then started showing symptoms of Covid. Filed a claim with a note from a testing facility that obviously travel was out of the question and our claim was denied. Called the claim department and was told that Covid is not covered? What kind of insurance is not covering Covid during a Covid pandemic?

Fansheild is a ln outright scam! Claims to help for unforeseen circumstances. Who was expecting the COVID-19 outbreak! My daughter whom has Cystic Fibrosis can not attend this event now even if it weren't canceled. They are scams! Even if you have an event that would impossibly meet their criteria, the amount of paperwork they want you to provide is impossible. I can't say it enough...scam, scam, scam!

My mother is on hospice and my father couldn't get care for her. They asked for documentation that she was on hospice (because that is something I would lie about)! I was able to inconvenience my dad for a letter from hospice (which was embarrassing in itself)...and that STILL isn't enough for them!Now they want more documentation from him. I will not ask him for another piece of "evidence". I'll instead have my attorney contact them. I am done with this scam of a company! Disgraceful!

This company is an absolute scam. Do NOT pay for the insurance. The show we were to attend was canceled as all others have been due to the World Pandemic. They won't return my emails or my phone calls. Shame on Show Clix for partnering with this scam of a business. They don't even tell you in their refund email that if you took the insurance you'd need to contact TicketGuardian and they are a joke too. They leave me to no other choice but to contact my credit card company to dispute the charge. DON'T EVER USE THIS COMPANY THEY'RE A SCAM.

If you are on the fence about using FanShield, aka Protecht, Inc., DO NOT BUY IT. I will never again buy any type of ticket insurance, save your money and worse case, sell your ticket last minute. This company is a scam and will not protect you. They are profiting off of COVID from all the cancelled events and refuse to provide refunds for events that aren't even happening. The event I bought from said the FanShield would give us a refund, and am completely disappointed with both FanShield and the event. I am warning everyone I know about this service.

If I could give less than 1 star I would. We bought insurance for a cirque show in Orlando due to the unknowns of Covid 19. When we realized that almost every restaurant in the Gaylord Palms was closed during our stay, we cancelled our hotel room ASAP with no issues. When we tried to cancel the show they kept asking for VERIFIABLE documentation for our need to get our money back. NO WHERE could you put that we chose not to go. This isn't insurance AT ALL. It's a total scam to keep people's hard earned money for themselves without any recourse. What a piece of crap company! DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY - EVER!

I am being given the runaround on trying receive money back. My significant other had multiple strokes, I already sent them documentation of hospitalization for it, and they are still asking for a doctor's note specifically not attending the event. Anyone with a brain knows to take it easy after having a stroke. If someone cannot even work right now, do you think they are up for a show? Do they really expect someone to a call neuro. and say, "What's up, Doc? I need a note saying I can't go to a show". And, on top of that, they want me to file a separate claim about why I couldn't go. Well, FanShield, I think any person with a significant other would attend to their needs instead of going to a show. FanSheild is not understanding, and they are a disgrace. I can assure you will waste your money buying this "insurance". DO NOT BUY FANSHIELD!

Positives: relatively fast responses Cons: if the incident didnt happen to you directly or you are not a direct care taker it may be difficult to obtain a refund. My situation is that I bought tickets to an event for my parents. My grandma gets gravely ill. Mom is called by my grandmas care taker to come see her now while she still lives. So parents leave. I try to get a doctors note but the care taker is also my grandmas *** and states that her health is personal so no. I offer plane ticket stubs as proof and fanshield is like NO! I explain the situation and Fanshield again NO! Finally after pleading the *** release lab results but blacks out any PII PHI. I even send that with proof of purchase explain again that the ticket holders are not direct care takers but had no choice but to leave and see grandma aka my moms mom while still alive. And again was told sorry for ya. Luckily speaking to the event promoter I got a refund for just the tickets but something is better than nothing. Fanshield lacked empathy in this situation.

This company is seriously just out to get your money and ensure they never have to pay out for a claim. I am serving in the Navy and with the coronavirus outbreak, there have been travel restrictions put in place for DoD personnel. I am limited to a 50-mile radius of my duty station. I e-mailed Fanshield and they are asking for a lot of additional documents to prove that my leave had been canceled. I already sent proof that I am active duty and the stop movement order from the Secretary of the Navy and now they want a letter from my superiors. I can get that but I think it's crazy they are still asking for more, I'm only wondering what's going to be next. Also, I purchased two tickets, the second being for my wife. Now they are asking why she can't attend without me and saying that she will have to have a reason for herself. She isn't listed on the tickets at all, I should have just told them that I purchased both tickets for myself. It's just crazy to me that a company like this is gets by doing business like this and with an A+ from the ComplaintsBoard.com. I hardly post reviews but after reading through the other reviews I know I'm not alone in feeling this way.
