The Augusta Chronicle printed lies regarding African-American Parents who confronted Superintendent Roberson & the B.O.E., and Principal Kim Davis response to allegations of her misconduct (which was all proven factual in previous news reports & eye witness statements)- Kim Davis's public statement was a complete fabrication and a deliberate "Damage Control" effort, to falsely attack the character of a respected Church Leader, and social activist who was only protecting his son & defending other children who all have been mistreated or abused by disgraceful School Principal Kimberly Davis! At first, the Local Media substantiated all of Rev. Beckles & other concerned Parents' claims of injustice by The Copeland Elementary School Principal, but on 6/5/2013, after these Parents marched to the B.O.E., and met with Mr. Roberson and the corrupt administrators, they were all unfairly attacked & some of the facts, videos, statements & content was altered to make Rev. Beckles & the concern parents appear dishonest or taking advantage of immoral school officials?!?
WJBF, WFXG, and The Augusta Chronicle- all omitted facts, footage, threats by Roberson, and recorded statements proving that Dr. Beckles & the other parents was telling the truth and presented evidence during their meeting with Roberson & the B.O.E., at NO time did the News accurately report the Historic Civil Rights March or Parents confronting a disreputable Superintendent! And refused to report or print that Rev. Dr. Beckles & the parents DID have & presented documented proof, along with a petition of over 300 signatures to back up their claims! Instead, false or misleading reports about another petition (which was never produced) was presented to keep Kim Davis from being removed, and photos of Davis's Supporters, was reported that they were parents, when most of the people were in fact; Copeland Elementary Employees, and their Leader PTA President Woolfolk was a fraud (no one as ever heard about him and he is under investigation for embezzling PTA funds)!

McManus printed that she (6/6/2013) asked scandalous Fire Chief Chris James, about Rev. Beckles career as a Firefighter, and James lied, stating that Rev. Beckles hadn't worked there in several years (a flat out lie! -He is internationally well-known as a Firefighter, Chaplin, Private School Director, & Respected Civil Rights Activist). In fact he had been employed at Augusta Fire Department for two years, and only stopped working, because his was injured on Duty, and was receiving paychecks then- Worker's Comp. Benefits, until 2011! And it was ruled that it was Chris James's fault for him being injured on duty! He was the Training Supervisor (investigated numerous times for misconduct & harassing employees) for The Fire Department, and he allowed & encouraged firefighters to physically attack, mistreat each other causing injuries, and he would deny medical treatment to new firefighters (as witnessed by many firefighters including Rev. Beckles and Sloan Griffin and they reported their concerns to The Augusta Chronicle in (2010). Which caused Chris James & Chief Willis to be investigated, and in 2012, Chief Willis was fired for misconduct! Chris James (a character witness? Don't make me laugh!) His Augusta Fire Department as also (like the Augusta Police Dept., & School Board) have been documented & investigated for crimes, corruption, racism and scandalous misconduct behavior FOR YEARS! Just last week, a statue of Jackie Robinson and Pee Wee Reese in Brooklyn was vandalized with racist slurs and Hitler references. It was another reminder — like we needed one — that "post-racial America" is a fairytale until further notice.

A statue, made of stone, is bad enough. But Adam Jones of the Baltimore Orioles is a person, and what happened to him at AT&T Park on Sunday was just as unacceptable. Jones, who is black, said somebody threw a "banana towards my direction" in the ninth inning of Baltimore's 10-2 victory against the San Francisco Giants.

Bananas have been used, time immemorial, in racist depictions of blacks as being subhuman. In 2011, a white fan threw a banana peel at NHL player Wayne Simmonds, who is black, during a game in London, Ont. Canada.

Worse than graffiti, what happened to Simmonds and Jones is tantamount to being spat upon, with an added insult of racism. In 2013, such behavior cannot be tolerated.

Jones expressed his feelings on Twitter, using (understandably) NSFW language:

I want to thank whatever [slapd---] threw that banana towards my direction in CF in the last inning. Way to show ur class u [censored].

In a way, Jones is being kind by using a (NSFW) slang term used to describe a dunce who doesn't quite know what he or she is doing. After sending his tweet, Jones fielded replies from more ignorant fans defending the banana thrower. As a result, Jones says:

Good chance this means I get off social media soon

That would be a shame. Nobody deserves to be taunted with racism, especially not Jones, who — with the occasional exception — engages fans on Twitter and in real life in a consistently friendly way. He's not perfect, but Major League Baseball needs more guys like Jones on social media, not fewer.

Update: The Giants say, via the San Francisco Chronicle, that they're reviewing surveillance video.

Hopefully, between ballpark security cameras and any live witnesses, the Giants can figure out who threw the banana and ban him from games. He or she should be — and needs to be — embarrassed. And Adam Jones is owed an apology.

A popular gospel singer is accused of doing horrible things to his 4-year-old stepson. Now he’s being taken to court.

According to a civil lawsuit, gospel music singer James Fortune burned his stepson leaving the boy disfigured with severe burns over nearly 50% of the child’s body. Fortune, who is from and still lives in the Houston area, is named in the lawsuit with his wife Cheryl Fortune.

According to the suit filed against the couple, James picked up Cheryl’s 4-year old son from pre-school and the teacher said the boy “misbehaved by coloring on a table”. The documents claim the gospel singer “scolded the toddler” on the way home, put him in time out at home, “continued to yell and berate the child” then started “preparing a scalding bath” for the 4-year old boy

Trayvon Martin, O.J. Simpson and the Remedy for Injustice:
What happens when following the letter of the law still leads to an unjust outcome? What is the remedy? What, besides expressing deep outrage, are ordinary citizens to do? Some famous civil rights activists & church leaders; like: Rev. Jessie Jackson, Dr. Franklyn V. Beckles, Jr., Al Sharpton. Dr. Martin Luther King, III, Hezekiah Walker, Nathan Van Sertima, and Rev. Sloan Griiffin are speaking out!

The acquittal of George Zimmerman of murder and manslaughter charges in the death of Trayvon Martin left many Americans holding two thoughts that at first seem contradictory. On the one hand, considering Florida’s permissive laws on self-defense and gun use, topped by the prosecution’s flawed performance, the jury probably came to a reasonable conclusion. And yet, an innocent young man is dead and the person who pulled the trigger should somehow be held responsible.

But these thoughts aren’t necessarily contradictory. A verdict in a criminal trial — especially one bound up with race and wound up by a voracious, non-stop media machine — does not necessarily render moral judgment and create a kind of civic accountability.

“In a way, we rely on the legal system too much to give us a definitive judgment of events, ” Perry Dane, a professor at Rutgers School of Law, told the Forward. “As citizens, we are still entitled to say something unjust happened, that [Zimmerman] did something unjust beyond the reach of criminal law.”

A legal decision is determined by a specialized form of evaluation and an intentionally difficult standard when the outcome could be a person’s loss of freedom or loss of life. Implicit in that high bar is the awareness that a defendant might actually be guilty even if he or she is legally exonerated. Most of the public certainly came to that conclusion in 1995, when, according to a Gallup-CNN/USA Today poll, only 33% agreed with the acquittal of O.J. Simpson in an even more circus-like murder trial.

We won’t be surprised if polling after the Zimmerman verdict shows the same pattern. One can acknowledge the legal limitations of determining guilt while still believing that the fact that an unarmed young man was shot dead by an armed civilian who ignored entreaties to stay in his car ought to leave every American outraged.

What is the remedy? What should citizens do to correct this injustice?

One avenue is certainly legislative. Florida’s “Stand Your Ground” law was barely mentioned at Zimmerman’s trial, but it framed the context and the outcome. Under the law, a version of which exists in more than 20 states, people fearing for their lives can use deadly force even if the possibility existed of retreating from a confrontation. Eliminating the “duty to retreat” radically redefines the legal concept of self-defense, which has until now considered deadly force as the absolute last resort outside the home.

Florida was the first state to enact Stand Your Ground, in 2005, and from the beginning, law enforcement officials have been among its staunchest critics. Miami’s chief of police said it was unnecessary and dangerous. The head of the association representing prosecuting attorneys has called for its repeal. For good reason: A study commission by the National Bureau of Economic Research found that in states with Stand Your Ground laws, the number of homicides had significantly increased from the years before the law was enacted. As many feared, the law encourages the use of deadly force when there is, in fact, either no danger or less dangerous alternatives.

And now researchers are picking up another disturbing trend: racial disparities. A study by the Urban Institute’s Justice Policy Center commissioned by PBS’s Frontline using FBI data found that whites who kill blacks in Stand Your Ground states are far more likely to be found justified in their killings than are blacks who kill, regardless of the race of their victims. The data doesn’t yet prove bias, because the circumstances of these one-on-one killings isn’t analyzed, but it certainly hints at it. Fortunately, the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights is launching a broader, more detailed investigation of those concerns.

The important thing to remember here is that Stand Your Ground laws aren’t the result of grassroots activism sparked by an expanded desire for citizen self-defense. They are a national product pushed by allies of the gun lobby. And they have been approved by so many state legislatures because that lobby has figured out how to wield enormous power in Tallahassee and Austin and Harrisburg and Helena while no one else cared.

So ordinary citizens have to try much harder to outflank this growing power. It’s not sexy stuff. Anyone who has spent time in a state capitol knows that. But it’s no coincidence that on this issue, and countless others, the lack of scrutiny — exacerbated, we might add, by the unconscionable decision by too many news outlets to scale back their coverage of state lawmakers — has allowed clever, well-funded national lobbies to shape, if not dictate, consequential laws. And the embarrassingly low turnout in elections for state legislatures allows that power to grow unchecked.

It may be difficult emotionally to draw a direct line between the occasional campaign for a State House seat and the understandable pain, fear and anger felt by so many Americans, especially those who look like Trayvon Martin, after this verdict. Repealing a handful of dangerous laws is hardly the only way to address the deep-seated racial bias that still exists on America’s streets, in its courtrooms and its halls of power. But it’s a start.

America has had other unjust laws that were erased by the brave work of those who knew this nation had the capacity to live up to higher moral standards. Sadly, that work must continue.

Zimmerman isn't a cop. Trayvon Martin wasn't a suspect. He is a human being who had the right to be innocent until proven guilty. A right Zimmerman stole from him, along with his life. For no reason at all.

Trayvon did nothing suspicious, unless you consider "walking while black" to be suspicious. In which case, you are a racist. End of story.

So now only "normal people" walk in a fast beeline? Anyone who walks slowly, or takes their time to get somewhere is a suspect? It is a potential crime to walk too slow? Even when Trayvon was trying to get under a covering to avoid the rain? Or that he was talking on the phone at the time so probably didn't feel like "beelining" home?

Guess what? It is not against the law to take a stroll in
your own neighborhood.
Next time you see a white person walking too slowly, please call the police and then chase after them with a loaded gun. Thank you.

And what about Trayvon's background? He had never been convicted of any crime, never burglarized, nothing. Anything else is character assassination and defamation of a dead teenager. Which is offensive and disgusting.

The police firmly established that Trayvon was committing no crime at the time he was walking home. Get it? No crime. Nothing. He didn't break into a home. He didn't do anything.

So apparently "exercised good judgement" to you means "being wrong on all counts" and "falsely judging an innocent person as a criminal even when they committed no crime."

Zimmerman exercised good judgement?
Here was an armed cop wannabe who pursued Martin after the dispatcher clearly advised him to break it off. Had a police officer been on the other end of that call he or she would have told Zimmerman the same exact thing. People who think like you and then go on to act it out are a major cause of these extremely dangerous incidents where an untrained gun-happy fool believes he can take on the duties of a trained law enforcement officer.
As a former police officer myself I want you to know that you have not the slightest idea of what you are talking about so you might best remain silent from here on and avoid embarrassing yourself further.

Gospel Concert Set After Fans Scammed By Promoter

A local church is helping national gospel artist James Fortune make good on his promise. He was scheduled to perform in Augusta back in June. But on Twitter he said the promoter canceled the show. Turns out, the show was still held but at a different venue without the advertised artists. The promoter is accused of taking off with the ticket money. Concert goers were left disappointed and hurt. Now, a local church has found a way to heal the pain.

In June, a performance that was supposed to make a joyful noise hit a sour note after national gospel artists did not show up for a concert.

The concert performer was accused of pocketing all of the money and leaving without any explanation.

Fans who walked away empty handed are now getting a chance to see the hottest names in gospel music for FREE.

"Coming together in unity, loving one another, reaching out to each other in their pain because all of us at some point will be in pain and we need someone to put their arms around us and we're trying to open those arms so those that are hurting can get some relief, " explains Sam Davis of Beulah Grove Baptist Church. He has offered his sanctuary at Beulah Grove Baptist church to host the free concert.

Minister James Fortune was scheduled to appear at the first concert but was told it was canceled. After hearing cries of a scam, he vowed to appear in Augusta to heal the hurt. Sam Davis and his church are helping him do that. "We're not blaming anybody, not looking at yesterday. We want to forget those things behind us and press forward. But you can't press forward without healing, " says Davis.

Concert Organizer Angela Harden says this is also an opportunity to help heal businesses that may have been hurt due to the economy. Harden says, "even our businesses need a healing. There are businesses that are thinking about closing. There are businesses that have closed. Because we don't know who's among us. We don't know the businesses that support the community and gives back to the community. So, I'm asking the businesses to come and be a part."

Organizers say the concert can't replace what happened in June. But it may put gospel music fans on one accord again. Davis says, "the need for this concert is just to right a wrong to try to set things back in order and move them maybe just a little higher than they were before in terms of connectivity, in terms of unity in the city."

Harden says Beulah Grove is paying all the expenses so the public can see the artist for FREE. Gospel star Bishop Hezekiah Walker will also perform during next Thursday's concert. Vicki Winans was scheduled for the performance in June. Winans tells News Channel Six that she is performing at another event and will NOT be at the concert in Augusta next week.

Turns out, the show was still held but at a different venue without the advertised artists. The promoter is accused of taking off with the ticket money. Concert goers were left disappointed and hurt. Now, a local church has found a way to heal the pain.

In June, a performance that was supposed to make a joyful noise hit a sour note after national gospel artists did not show up for a concert.

The concert performer was accused of pocketing all of the money and leaving without any explanation.

Fans who walked away empty handed are now getting a chance to see the hottest names in gospel music for FREE.

"Coming together in unity, loving one another, reaching out to each other in their pain because all of us at some point will be in pain and we need someone to put their arms around us and we're trying to open those arms so those that are hurting can get some relief, " explains Sam Davis of Beulah Grove Baptist Church. He has offered his sanctuary at Beulah Grove Baptist church to host the free concert.

Minister James Fortune was scheduled to appear at the first concert but was told it was canceled. After hearing cries of a scam, he vowed to appear in Augusta to heal the hurt. Sam Davis and his church are helping him do that. "We're not blaming anybody, not looking at yesterday. We want to forget those things behind us and press forward. But you can't press forward without healing, " says Davis.

Concert Organizer Angela Harden says this is also an opportunity to help heal businesses that may have been hurt due to the economy. Harden says, "even our businesses need a healing. There are businesses that are thinking about closing. There are businesses that have closed. Because we don't know who's among us. We don't know the businesses that support the community and gives back to the community. So, I'm asking the businesses to come and be a part."

Organizers say the concert can't replace what happened in June. But it may put gospel music fans on one accord again. Davis says, "the need for this concert is just to right a wrong to try to set things back in order and move them maybe just a little higher than they were before in terms of connectivity, in terms of unity in the city."

Harden says Beulah Grove is paying all the expenses so the public can see the artist for FREE. Gospel star Bishop Hezekiah Walker will also perform during next Thursday's concert. Vicki Winans was scheduled for the performance in June. Winans tells News Channel Six that she is performing at another event and will NOT be at the concert in Augusta next week. Who can blame her! The promoter- SHARIF KING, skipped town with all of the money that he personally collected at the door . The estimated amount he collected was 15, 000. The church was almost to its 2000 seat capacity. King allegedly charged some people an additional $40 (on top of the $20 that they already paid) to sit in VIP with promises of a meet and greet with the national artists at a Christian club, Provisions Christian Lounge.

The announcements of a concert began around May 19th at the MayFest, an outdoor festival in Augusta Georgia. The announcements were made several times by Morgan Dukes and Jubba, the gospel stage hosts. There was to be a concert, James Fortune and Friends, that included Tamela Mann and Vickie Winans on the ticket. The show was to be held at the Bell Auditorium. People were excited. Emails and press releases were received by this publication. We put up an announcement with the show’s line up, dates, and number to call Georgia-Lina Tickets to purchase the seat. Tickets were $37 for the Bell Auditorium.

The promoter opened up a facebook page under the name of Shariff King and began ranting things about the concert. He purchased radio air time at several stations and commercial time to promote the concert. He even made TV appearances in the city. WJBF News 6 in Augusta, stated that events like this are unfortunate, but it serves the Augusta/Richmond County community right, for NOT adequately supporting Bishop Dr. Franklyn Victor Beckles, Jr., Pastor of The Sons For Christ Church of God, who fought for the civil rights of abused children in Richmond County Public Schools & exposed corruption and injustice by it's dishonest leaders; like: Frank Roberson, Kimberly Davis, Missoura Ashe, and Tim Spivey.
Instead a majority of Augusta citizens & parents remained silent, and rather show out in support for a Gospel Concert "Circus" headed by James Fortune (an child abuser), rather than support a "true' man of God & a Civil Rights Hero, who stood up for his Son, risked his life to protect other defenseless kids, suffered defamation from RACIST LIARS OR DISHONEST/CORRUPT PEOPLE: at The Augusta Chronicle, Tyrone McCord, Tracey McManus, Richmond County Board of Education, Richmond County Sheriff's Department, and FOX 54 (WFXG)! Me & my husband's experience there as patients was a complete nightmare, their nurses are often rude, the staff always lie to patients, give false medical advice, the wait time has always been horrible, and our physician was- Janet D. Larson, we officially stop going to see her anymore, she was often unprofessional and her medical experpise; which she herself stated, was incompetent and not helpful at all, to expecting African-American parents... I would not recommend her to anyone!

In my experience with Janet D. Larson as my doctor was the WORST experience ever. She is not easy to talk to and does not tell you the truth, her staff poses (with fake aliases pretending to be clients & former clients) and post false statements attacking any patient that complains about her unprofessional behavior on http://www.complaintsboard.com). She never goes over the pros and cons of anything concerning maturnal wellness. Larson and Her staff, are a bunch of pycho, lying ###, that often mistreat their own patients. Of course wait time is horrible, and thats another reason why she keeps losing patients. Her staff are not friendly and never has been helpful to me and my family when I was there. Dr. Larson is the Dummiest Doctor I have ever met and the most racist female I have ever known.. I had to find another doctor (Thank God), because she refused me medical care for my 2nd pregnancy! Only because I was one of many patients, who complained about her being a lousy doctor. This ### woman had the nerve to send me a certified letter; stating that she was an incompetant doctor, and that she could no longer treat me as a patient! I heard that I wasn't the only patient, she has done that to... She has been the only doctor that was impossible to talk to and the one that was responsible for the medical neglect that led to my first miscarriage, which she admitted was her fault, but never apologized to me and my family.. She had the nerve to say that; "Miscarriages are fun, I don't no why you're so sad about it!". I would NOT recommend her to anyone that is pregnant. NO ONE, not even her own staff will trust her judgement or medical expertise, she has been steering patients wrong for quite a while now (since she was fired from The Medical College of Georgia for Malpractice).. Janet D. Larson is the WORST fetal medicine doctor in Georgia-Carolina. I have told family members NOT and my church, to avoid seeing her, and I recommend to all women, not to become patients of this crappy doctor... Janet Larson & her Fatel Medicine Clinic has had numerous problems and complaints, from many patients (of all ethnic backgrounds)! From my experience Janet D. Larson is the WORST at what she does- which is nothing but successfully pissing off, and harming patients, I for one, think she should lose her medical license for good!
