That's cool. You don't very often see someone coming in to give this sort of feedback. Nice.

If you have copies of all the paper work, including the return receipt for the modem and hardware, I'd suggest you copy all of that and send a registered letter (through the postal service, don't use email), in writing, to both Bell Canada and the collection agency. I don't know for sure if that will help, but if you haven't done it already, you need to take that step.

If that doesn't work, try Settlement.com Ontario (http://www.settlement.org/sys/faqs_detail.asp?faq_id=4000262) and also the Consumer Ombudsman for Ontario (http://www.ombudsman.on.ca/en/media/press-releases/2008.aspx)

Bell's poor customer service and incredible stupidity is one of the reason's we have never used their service for internet. We also dropped their phone service and mobile (cell) service some years ago.

I hope you can get this resolved.

Well, there's the Nikon International photo contest here:

http://imaging.nikon.com/products/imaging/activity/npci/npci2008-2009/pdf/npci_32nd_entryform_en.pdf

and the Nikon Canada website is here:

Don't have any idea what the "rd." stands for.

Have you seen this: /URL removed/

You might try to contact them - it looks as though they are initiating a class-action lawsuit against these people.

Most of these "carriers" have a contract that must be signed, and confirmed by telephone. Did you receive a written contract? If not, I'd request one. Unless you have access to the fine print in a contract you can't possibly agree to the terms.

The only thought is that you indicate it is a "renewal" in which case, you should already have been aware of their business practices. If it's not a renewal (in other words if you did not use their services prior to this) then you might be able to get out of it based on the fact that you received no written contract. Not only that, most of these carriers give you 10 days after initially taking the contract to cancel it without penalty.

We have never accepted any of these carriers. We've always stuck with the same gas and electricity companies for over 30 years. In the end, we dicsovered over the course of the years since they (the carriers have appeared) our costs have always been less than those guaranteed by their contracts. Some of our family members have been stuck with these people, but only once.

That's definitely underhanded. I hope the OEC can help you out. You might also try the ombudsman for Ontario if you haven't.

It can't hurt to send an email and see if they have anything helpful.

I don't know about the wholesale pricing versus retail, but I'm sure it's quite a markup. But I'd dispute the quality of a Kirby vacuum - I know a couple in existence that are well over 30 years old and still going strong. That, of course, is the models manufactured years ago. Today's models could easily be poorer quality. It seems like everyone thinks "plastic" is the way to go. Cheaper to manufacture, but they sure don't last as long. Sometimes, progress isn't the best thing.

I also wouldn't buy from an in-home rep either.

That's really odd.

I sold melaleuca for a number of years and never had a problem like this. I love their products. The only reason I quit was that a number of the products that were our best sellers could no longer be sold in canada because of FDA regulations. Since we could no longer have the products shipped to us, we cancelled our account, with great regret. When we travel in the US I look for an authorized rep so we can order a couple of the products to take home with us that we can't get here anymore.

I didn't sign up on the internet though. We signed up through a local rep.

It's a shame if such a previously good company went downhill like that.

You have proof of this?

If you do, you should post such. At least that wouldn't make you look like a troll.

If you don't have proof to back up your claims, you do realize you could be creating a world of hurt for yourself?

Without posting proof you are making yourself look just as bad. In fact, the more you post the less people are going to be inclined to believe your claims.

Also...interesting design on the pillow...whoever it belongs to.
That explanation you were given in the end...it is the way the rogers service works, but it isn't a matter of "rogers" alone. It is the co-operation they have between certain carriers. It's a royal pain, and expensive. We weren't very happy about the roaming charges through the US, but rogers can't control how the US operates. So, we sucked it up and set about finding alternatives. We weren't using FIDO - I have a nokia and my husband has a motorola.

Once we understood how it worked, we travel with our cell phones off once we hit the US, and only turn them on long enough to collect our messages or make a call, and turned them off again. The last trip, we bought a new laptop equipped with a wireless internet connection. Most larger hotels, as well as libraries have free wireless access. We managed to get all of our messages, as well as talk using voice chat with no additional cost.

A little inconvenient, but the laptop has been used many times and so has paid for itself.

AVG Antivirus does not charge you for a free download. You went to the wrong website.

The real AVG site: http://free.avg.com/

You really have to be careful where you download things from. Always be sure to the website URL, not just the website name.

This is simply a scam.

See these two websites:

They look as though they've been worn more than 10 times. Even if you did only wear them 10 times...there is heavy wear on the upper parts. Given how they look it is somewhat understandable that they won't replace them.

BUT, the sole shouldn't be coming loose that quickly unless you wear a shoe everyday for a long period. It's a shame they've come apart so quickly. My walking shoes are "New Balance" brand too. Fairly expensive, but I wear them for an hour of speed-walking every day, and I've had them for two years without seeing that kind of wear. I wouldn't have thought a high quality shoe would become worn so quickly.

If you haven't done so, you need to file a complaint here:

https://www.lnnte-dncl.gc.ca/plt-cmp-eng

(Canadian "National Do Not Call List" and Complaints against Telemarketers) - the link is not for another discussion board, but for the actual place where you file a complaint against a telemarketer.

But it doesn't appear as though there are a lot of people who "lost money" with these people. I did a google search search and found a couple of good reviews on this company, but no bad ones except this one you posted.

So far, you seem to be the only complaining about problems with them. There don't seem to be any complaints listed for that company.

You say you bought a package - did you buy a package that includes the website design? Or did you just buy webhosting space?

I don't work for anybody - particularly Easy Internet Solutions. I'm a photographer who has some experience designing simple websites and thought I might be able to offer you some suggestions.

You made a complaint and appeared to be looking for help, that's all. I did an internet search because you were looking to find other people who had complaints against this company and I didn't find any. Search for yourself.

If you don't want help or suggestions, that's fine by me.

All that stuff you posted means nothing without the information attached to it, so it doesn't tell me anything.

We've been Sears customers for over 30 years, always purchasing our home appliances from them because they HAD good service and warranty.

Over the last 4 years the customer service and product quality has deteriorated noticeably. We purchased new appliances for our new home from Home Depot and Leon's and have been really happy with their service and have had no complaints. Reasonably quality, cheaper prices than Sears.

It's really a shame - sears used to be really good. I still have some of their old products that work as well as the day we bought them.
Weird. I've used Western Digital external drives for 4 years now with nary a problem. One is 500gb, one is 640 gb, one is 1 tb (the newest) and all of them function just as they should.

Generally I won't buy anything but WD.
You should post the name of the site. It wasn't the real AVG site, so unless you post the fake one, people will not know which one to look out for.

You really need to take time to read the warranty details before you pay for one. And, if I understand you, you purchased a warranty for two computers, so you could only expect to ask for part of the warranty back, not all of it.

At any rate, my 3-year extended warranty states "no refund". I wasn't thrilled at paying for the additional warranty either, my oldest computer came with a 5 year warranty...today's come with one, if your lucky. The extended warranty does cover the complete replacement of a computer after three major repairs.

The majority of warranties will only cover product defects, not a kid being sick, no matter how little control you have over a kid.

Also, you really lost a receipt for a purchase that large in less than a month? When it comes to stuff like this and other large purchases we keep our receipts for the life of the product, as well as the warranty info. It's really important to keep that sort of stuff.

As much as I hate to say it, you are partly responsible for not understanding the warranty. Asking a salesperson isn't enough. Consumer's need to take responsibility for their own protection by understanding exactly what they are buying...read the fine print. I know you said you asked it if it covers "everything", but would you buy insurance without reading the policy? Because that's basically what the warranty is - insurance.

I hope your independent repair tech can fix it without costing you too much. It seems odd that it was so badly damaged after having taken it back to the shop. $650 is pretty high for repair...that's about what my laptop cost from Futureshop back in October last year. I could have an entirely new computer custom built for that repair price. I hope you take the time to post back and let everyone know what happened with the laptop. It will be interesting to see what the repair tech finds. Good luck and I hope it works out okay.
