Verizon Sucks, PERIOD.
I tried several months ago to get DSL service, for 7 years I have waited for service and now when I go to the verizon website and enter my number I get "congratulations, DSL service is available on this number".
Or is it?
I got my confirmation, a few days later I got my modem and start date, 10 days later I get an e-mail saying, sorry, DSL service is not available to your number!
So I send the junk back and wait, a couple of days pass and I check my number on there site again, this time its not available.
So several months pass and I happened to check my phone bill online and it told me again I could get DSL, I called one of there pushy sales reps who told me to go for it! so I did, I got my confirmation e-mail again, I got my equipment again and 6 days later I got the "DSL IS NOT AVAILABLE" e-mail.
Why do they play head games with people, I am not that far outside of a BIG university town of more then 23,000 students, guess where the DSL/FIOS is...
So I pay the same amount as anyone in town for my phone service, in 7 years I know they have had 2 major upgrades, one to DSL and the other to FIOS, I still sit with a Dial Up connection, but verizon wants to offer me dial up, is that an insult or what?
Verizon like most other corporations needs to be broken up and made smaller, its obvious they cannot or will not talk or listen to there customers, even 3rd world countries have DSL.

I did not expedite mine, and I did not book a flight until it got back to me. I did how ever get mine back within 7 weeks of sending it out.
I have a funny feeling after you accepted the $30 you came to an agreement with them, your probably not going to get anything else now.
I will let you into a little trick!
Use your credit card via PayPal, if you get scammed you call your credit card company, they will fight for you and you will see the credit back on your card within hours!
I use only a credit card through PayPal, I do not trust the ### on eBay.

You should be lucky they are installing it at all, some of us don't have that option, no FIOS, No DSL.
Try waiting for a bit longer next time, I bet 5 minutes after you posted this he/she turned up!
Comcast! well at least you get service from them, I am 300Ft from the last connection and they want $6000.00 to install me a line. These companies are too bug, they need to be broken down into smaller companies to provide a better service to everyone. Bush/Republicans have to go and monopolization needs to end!
See where monopolization get you! Bill Gates, Comcast, Verizon to name but a few, they all suck!
I am with you on this one, all though I do not or cannot get cable service unless I shell out $6000.00 for a 300 Ft run of cable.
Monopolies need to be stomped out, broken up or whatever. Comcast, verizon or even Walmart need to be looked at, but local and state laws allow them to get away with it, the reason for this is no competition means no cheaper choices for people, and more money in the pockets of the local politicians.
How can cable companies fight for better pricing and or services if there is only one in your area? Comcast are scammers, rip off merchants, blood suckers just like the Bush administration.
Interesting, BUT, when you signed up for Directway (Now Hughesnet) you did have and FAP Policy, just because you did not read it does not mean it was never there until Hughesnet took over.
It has always been there! I have been with them for 3 years and I have always had an FAP limit, I think it is 160Mb in 24 hours, something like that.
If you are hitting your FAP, someone is downloading a lot of movies, music or you have a virus/Trojan on your computer.
Have a look at your original contract, it is on there.
Screw Verizon, I read somewhere that people are dropping there sorry ### phone lines and going over to wireless more and more.
More people in the USA have cellphones then they do landlines, Verizon better get there act together or they will be out with the new!
Follow up...
I filled a complaint on their website a couple of days ago and got what appears to be a canned response to my problem.
Here is what they had to say to me...
"Thank you for contacting Customer Relations at US Airways. We appreciate the opportunity to address the difficulties you encountered as a result of a schedule change.
I sincerely apologize for your inconvenience. Although schedule changes of this nature are commonplace in the airline industry, we realize they can be frustrating for everyone involved. For this reason, they are generally posted well in advance of the implementation date, and all travel agencies are notified through their booking systems. Our Reservations Agents attempt to call all customers who have made their travel plans directly with us via the phone number in their reservations. I'm sorry our efforts to notify you through this process were unsuccessful.
We value your business, and hope we'll have the pleasure of seeing you on another flight very soon.
Sincerely,
US Airways Customer Relations
Corporate Office"
Hmm... Lets break down the last sentence a little.
We value your business, (No you don't, you don't give a crap!) and hope we'll have the pleasure of seeing you on another flight very soon (So you can cancel another flight of mine? I don't think so).
Did they address my needs? no, did they offer anything in return? no, did they offer to help me sort the situation out? no, do they care about their customer? I doubt it very much.
Merry Christmas US Airways, thanks for all this added frustration I now have trying to book another flight, Ohh, when you return my payment I will book it, if the seats and dates are available.
Sprint are a bunch of loosers!
I had an issue with them over a Treo 650 I bought, it should have had a $250 rebate on it, its the only reason why I bought it in the first place.
I got my phone, got my rebate form at the same time and send the rebate form in for my rebate, 6 days later I got a letter in the mail saying this rebate was not for this phone offer.
So I called and told them the Sprint salesman told me about the rebate offer on the phone, they would not give me the rebate, I told them to turn the phone off and told them where they could put it, then they sent me to retentions and they made me an offer, they gave me the rebate, made my internet 30% cheaper, made my plan better and gave me 30% off on it, and gave me free text messaging.
Now the fun started, I started receiving text messages, in the message it says to stop receiving these messages reply and say quit, I did that and signed up for a $100.00 a month service without knowing it (SCAM).
I got my bill and see the charges and freaked out! what the hell is this crap, I called them and they told me there was nothing they could do, I signed up for it, I explained what I did and they offered to refund the fee.
They did refund the fee, but for another 5 months I got the same thing over and over again, month after month and they would not stop this from happening.
I told them to switch it off and I got out of the contract a year and 4 months short, they probably are one of the most incapable companies out there.
Maybe this is the reason I and a lot of others cannot get cable!
Comcast CEO receives $27.4 million in 2006 compensation

The chairman and chief executive of Compacts Corp., the nation's largest cable television operator, received a 2006 compensation package valued by the company at $27.4 million, according to a proxy statement filed with federal regulators on Thursday.
Brian Roberts was given a salary of $2.5 million, a bonus of $3 million, incentive awards worth $8.4 million and other perks valued at $2.9 million, which included personal use of the company plane, contributions to retirement plans and payment of tax liabilities and insurance policies.
Roberts also received stock options and restricted stock awards valued by the company at $10.6 million on the day they were granted, a Securities and Exchange Commission filing showed.
The proxy included a shareholder proposal that would give shareholders the right to vote on whether compensation to senior executives was excessive, appropriate or too low as a report card on the compensation committee's decisions. The proposal said Comcast's executive pay was "excessive."
Another shareholder is proposing that the company prepare a report to measure the gap between the most highly paid executives at Comcast and its lowest earners, and to see if remedies are needed.
Last year, Roberts also exercised 1.2 million stock options and realized a value of $19.9 million. In addition, the value of stock awards that vested came to $1.1 million on 61,875 shares.
Options exercised and the value of vested stock awards aren't included in the calculation for total compensation because these securities may have been granted in prior years and also depend in part on the personal finance decisions of the executive.
In 2006, Comcast reported an 18 percent increase in revenue to $24.9 billion and net income of $2.5 billion, nearly tripling from the year before. The Philadelphia-based company credits the popularity of its discounted bundle of video, Internet and phone service for the gains.
Comcast's shares rose by 63 percent last year. The stock fell by a penny to $25.75 in late afternoon trading on the Nasdaq Stock Market.
The Associated Press calculations of total pay include executives' salary, bonus, incentives, perks, above-market returns on deferred compensation and the estimated value of stock options and awards granted during the year.
So don't eat there again, go somewhere else!
Its obvious they do not want you as customers, and the more they do this to the less customers they will have.
You can blame management, you can blame the employees, but thats what happens when you put a bunch of idiots with no education in control of a franchise.
I just posted this on another complaint, this is what I dug up regarding this matter.
On 12-10-07 I registered a complaint on this site for charges of $59.95, a company listed on my account as:DRI*Reg.net. Since then I've received more infor-
mation. A few weeks ago I was doing a home survey online, you have to sign-up for trial offers, and one of
the offers was for AUCTION MONSTER software.
You pay$1.87 for this, BUT if you don't call them with
in 10 days, you are charged $59.95 and the pre-auth-orized name shows up as: DRI*Reg.net during the pending period. Once it is posted to your account it appears as: AUCTION MONTSTER! When you call to cancel make sure you get a name AND a confirmation
number. If you have already been charged you might
be able to get it credited back. Their # is: [protected]-
5118. GOOD LUCK!
