I went to purchase a pack of lighters...with many other items, of course, at Target and wanted to scan my ID. It may be legal and public information, but no company is going to hoard my info so they can gather a database of consumer information. I'm not giving out my personal information for a lighter. Who knows what kind of freak-o...now knows where I live...? I'm not a criminal. I'm tired of being treated like one.

Target's privacy policy clearly states that they capture data including drivers license numbers, date of birth, address, etc. It also specifically states they use the data for marketing purposes AND that they SELL IT TO OTHERS!

You may like to be sold, but I don't fly on that side of the American eagle. There are too many people in this world like you that are enabling us to become some policed nation like in the movie "Demolition Man." If you were a GOOD parent...you'd teach your children to not play with fire. The problem these days are good moral codes and respect for others... something your parents didn't teach you, obviously. Your comment to me was unacceptable behavior. This generation of parents are lazy, and your children will suffer the prison you are enabling for them.
