Prater and Sons Concrete review: driveway design flaw

Prater and Sons installed a driveway for a neighbor in June.

They broke the Hamilton Co ordinance by starting work before the allowed time which was quite annoying for neighbors who work nights and need sleep!

However, the major issue at this point is an obvious design flaw in the neighbor's driveway. When it rains, the water on the left side of the driveway drains into a drain in front of the neighbor's garage and under their deck. However, water on the right side pours off into our yard.

It runs down our hill and collects right in front of our basement door. Mr. Prater suggested WE dig a gutter. A gutter is a terrible solution unless we want a mud pit or a gutter full of leaves/debris/tree branches.

It's an even worse idea from the standpoint he expects my husband and I to dig the gutter? We didn't build/design the driveway nor did we have any input in how it was installed. Therefore, it's not acceptable for him to expect us to fix his workmanship.
