DCF in Pinellas county, FLorida took nephews away from parents for drug use, born addicted etc 2010 and again 2013. Mother never got them back but father sort of did case plan (while being on drugs because no one really checks on these adults). Fast forward grandma got permanent guardianship by 2016 because father started trafficking and getting into more trouble (or at least getting caught for it) and mother had mental issues as well as drug heavy use. The grandma and children came to live with me (I am a close family member) in 6/2015 and never left. Grandma left kids with me in Polk county and went to her home in Pinellas and no one even knew. I have cared for these special needs kids for over 7 years and I finally went to court for guardianship as grandma was having issues herself with drugs and alcohol. I went to court via zoom on 7/1/2022 and got temporary guardianship. The entire case was refused to be reopened by the original county (pinellas) who had the same judge and workers for years and who were familiar with the kids and family. So the county they reside in had to open a NEW case which means starting all over with guardianship and case plans for parents that haven't tried for almost a decade to reunify.'Now with the kids who are now mentally and physicially STABLE and who have been doing well in school and thriving were ripped away from the only family member that has been there for them for many years because the father called in a complaint regarding drugs on the caregiver (not true at all) The kids have now been transferred 2 times to 2 places and there is not even a case manager. There was supposed to be a meeting to get a case manager today but of course the number doesn't work. All the case management supervisor says is she doesn't have the info and the home study person says she isnt the case manager. Who does one call for information? What happens to these kids in the meantime? They have been in the same household for over 7 years! How is this even possible that people can make a call like this that is totally false and the innocent lose? The children lose but the birth parent just makes trouble and goes about his life not even giving a single thought to these kids for the past 7 years and now wants to cause problems? And dcf just points fingers at the next person and says "thats not their job" Very scary and very sad!
