Whilst enjoying the live band in the Havana nightclub on Ventura the lady sat on the couch the other side on the lamp/wooden protrusion knocked her glass of wine on the floor. She apologised as the wine soaked my husband's trousers, not a problem, but a fragment of glass went into his arm. We went to the bar and asked for some tweezers to get it out. They offered a bandage but didn't understand so we went to reception. Initially the young man offered a bandage, said he didn't have tweezers then phone medical centre for us. I spoke to the nurse who said she had forceps but no tweezers. The male receptionist said he would call customer services.

We were then seen by a young woman and again explained we just needed some tweezers to get the glass out. I am a nurse and this is just a minor incident. I asked for tweezers from the first aid kit. She said they didn't have tweezers and we should be assessed by the doctor. I said it wasn't necessary as we know what is wrong, then asked if P&O would cover any costs. She told us 'we are not the NHS'! I said the incident had happened through no fault of ours and on their premises. She said she would have to check if there were any witnesses (implying we were lying!). By this time my husband and myself were so angry with the way we were being treated we walked away. We are shocked by the attitude and lack of care from P&O and wish we had not booked another cruise in 6 weeks time. We certainly do not intend to sail with P&O again. We feel the ship should have a duty of care and at least show interest and politeness. I felt unsafe and abandoned and have no wish to get back on a P&O ship. The MCA 2022 regulates onboard safety and I feel we should take this to CADRS. We cannot believe the attitude we were treated with. It was a minor problem which I was happy to deal with but blocked each time we spoke to someone. All first aid kits should contain tweezers.

We await your comments.
